Ron Paul: Had People Listened to Me, We Could Have Prevented 9/11

TAMPA -- He lost the Ames straw poll by a whisker, he peaked too early in Iowa's caucuses, he missed the big headlines by not winning Maine's preference poll. Finally, today, Ron Paul came into some luck. The threat of Hurricane Isaac was scrapping the first day of the Republican National Convention. Reporters who had planned to preview day one were screwed. Editors suddenly remembered that Ron Paul was supposed to do something or other. And off they went to the Sun Dome, the arena at Southern Florida University, where 7000-odd people would join the "We Are the Future Rally."

It was Paul's second attempt at an "alternative convention." In 2008, he brought supporters to Minneapolis for the "Rally for the Republic." Tucker Carlson, in his pre-Daily Caller says, emceed the proceedings. I should say: He emceed them until Jesse Ventura spoke and started talking about 9/11, which scared Carlson (and Willie Geist) the hell out of there. Gary Johnson spoke at that rally, when he was a retired politician. Now that he was a Libertarian presidential candidate, he was absent. This was a Ron Paul show, a kind of tribute, and the candidate would use it to say all the things people never let him say. "I don't do it out of sacrifice," said the candidate. "I do it out of self-interest. I do it because it's good for me."

They say "Osama bin Laden would still be alive if we listened to you," said Paul. "You know what I say? So would the 3000 people killed on 9/11!" That, and every sticking-it-to-the-neocons comment, got huge cheers. When America's agressive, said Paul, "it's easier for them to kill us over there than to come over here, where the Second Amendment is alive and well."

9/11 could have been prevented if some airport clerks had done their jobs.

“Any of us could have prevented 9/11 by letting the islamderthals eat their oil, fight their own wars, and prevent them from coming here.”

____

Roger that CC, If we had Patriots for politicians instead of the self serving A$$holes which comprise at least 95% of the gov. we would be the the most powerful nation in modern history. We were at one time but those same self serving politicos have pissed it all away. May all Progressives, Commies, Liberals, Socialists and any other assorted filth of the earth I may have forgotten all die screaming.

Ron Paul is only one slight step up from Obama. A Libertarian Leftist lunatic who is clueless of Islam, only slightly less dangerous than Obama’s MarxoFascism.

The Left and Jihadist Islam are allies (see the Jummah before the DNC convention thread) and Ron Paul is right there with them.

Yeah, you know, Ron, keeping and bearing firearms? Nice when some head-case college kid busts in the emergency exit of your movie theater and starts shooting. When people are hijacking commercial airliners and flying them straight at the high-rise (or even low-rise) office building? Not so much.

Had we listened to Ron Paul; hmmm.

For one; there would statues of Adolf Hitler all over London, and the streets would have German names.

Hawaii would have the General Tojo victory park at the Pearl Harbor (now called the Divine Wind Naval Base) Naval Base.

He did state that the US had no business being involved in World War II.

And so? Is Kuwait a territory of our United States or did I miss something?

Different circumstances and conditions. The Barbary Coast Pirates demanded 15% of the US Treasury as ransom. Most Americans at that time said pay it and avoid conflict because the country was deeply pacifistic and adverse to war.

Washington, Adams and Jefferson were in favor of war with the Barbary Coast pirates, They finally prevailed.

It really had nothing to with Muslims, it had to do with pirates, very similar in motive and intent of current day Somali pirates. But there were plenty of Non-Muslim pirates at the time as well.

Sure. had people listened to us, we could have also (had the effing bomber recruitments in the US ongoing 6 days before 9.11, no one wanted to know. Almost cost us our lives),

The US was sold out a long time before 9.11, and Ron was not exactly a help.

Muslims are killing Christians in Nigeria and Nigerian Christians aren’t in Iraq.
Clearly Paul thinks Muhammed was a man of peace who never picked up the sword and the Koran says love thy enemies!

Ron Paul’s point is that it was years of US intervention that caused the islamists to hate us enough to plan 9/11.

Which means Ron Paul would need to be President for the last 100 years or so.

Better yet, if Ron Paul was our dictator and king, we would never have had 9/11.
