Hunger is a reality in Missouri.
One in eight Missourians receive emergency food assistance every year. The food banks of the Missouri Food Bank Association are the solution to hunger statewide. Through our network of over 2,000 agencies, we provided 68 million meals to your friends, neighbors, and children’s classmates last year. The need is increasing and your support feeds hungry Missourians.
Look for opportunities where very little salaries are paid and where volunteer hours are high. Volunteer a few hours a week if you can. It really will make you feel good.

If and when he withdraws I will back the replacement.
Until then everyone can pile on Todd, but he is opposing Claire. Do you really rather an unopposed election where she could divert her Campaign funds to other closer races?

I recently read that our local food bank was shutting down due to problems with the people they were trying to help. They’ve had fights, stabbings, thefts, and threatened volunteers.
For those with ADS (Akins Derangement Syndrome) send spare change Jim DeMint’s Conservative Senate Fund!
I hear the same thing in our area, but I can’t square the fact that 30%-40% of poor are obese, USDA food stamps are at record levels, yet foodbanks are seeing more demand than ever. “Poor” kids in our city can now get 3 meals a day at school (of course, that’s when they are in school ie. not summertime).
I see children who are poorly raised, or not raised at all, it seems - but I don’t see skeletons walking around.
I’m not being cynical - its that something just doesn’t seem right. Maybe I need to volunteer at some of these places.
Akin is not going to leave the race, so your response is to see that he is defeated and McCaskill gets another term?

Why sacrifice any American on the altar of Political Correctness, especially when everyone knew what he meant. Forcible Rape a crime of control and force as compared to morning after rape a decision after the fact etc. Why destroy a human soul for the actions or desires any adult or group. I look to the God fearing Missourians to do the right thing. As for the food banks should you be challenging the expenses on both sides, to achieve their aims.
Kids are hungry in the United States because their parents are STUPID and not budgeting their money or using it for something else. Get a grip, jack, vote pro-life! Look at the obese kids in school and they get free breakfast and lunch.

Way too funny. And ironic. Claire has already donated a great deal to Akin's campaign. I want her gone. Everyone here wants her gone. Unfortunately, the only one who cannot beat her is a lunatic. 50% of his own supporters want him gone. He has plummeted with independents. Most conservatives may well come back around; but you do not win elections if you cannot attract independents. Political Reality 101. I will donate to a campaign by Brunner, Steelman or others. I do not like throwing away money because it has become difficult to earn these days in the Obamaconomy. So I will give to the food bank and Salvation Army.
