What other country in the world would allow someone to enter illegally, lay down roots, use the public systems and deplete taxpayer money? I can't think of one. If a law is broken and the person is not punished, what message does that speak to the next offender? In California, we face overcrowded schools, high unemployment and cities filing for bankruptcy -- yet the government turns a blind eye to those that ...

That kid seems to have already picked up on the DNC convention theme, "I Wanna Talk About Me". (If Toby Keith allows them use the song without issuing a "cease and desist order" the way the commie libs do).

I'd like to see the GOP address the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Well couldn’t get onto the page but the one picture says everything you need to know about what is wrong with the country. Why should you get a bailout? If everybody needs a bailout where is the money going to come from to bail everyone out? Why did you take out the loans if you couldn’t pay them back?

re: Kennedy Brothers

I noticed that too. I really think if Romney gives a Jack Kennedy speech saying, "by the end of the decade we will be energy independent ...," it could be game over for Obama. Kids like him are hungry for a vision.

"What one issue do voters want addressed at the Republican National Convention?"

For me its the issue of "Magic Underwear" and whether they need to be changed daily.

(Not really, but I'll use any opening I can get, to mention "Magic Underwear"... because it makes me giggle like a school girl every time I type it.)

He could pay the loans back (assuming he’s not a philosphy major) if he could find a job. Energy independance for this country will bring more jobs than we have people. Hope Romney makes that the theme.

I'm a true "one issue" voter.

I am a veteran, a Dad (of two currently in uniform), and a grandparent.

I am retired (sorta).

My "one issue"?

I worry that the Marxist in the White House might be re-elected because some very good conservatives and other very nice people want a perfect candidate, and that they would see our precious Republic fail in order to settle a score with the GOP "insiders".

Please understand, I too want to clean house with the GOP elite by clean-sweeping the moderate squishes out of positions of control; however, I know that this is for the political "off season", not for the most critical election in our fine country's history.

It's not enough to vote for Romney/Ryan.

We must each work to get five more of us to do the same, and that means a ride to the polls and a nice lunch afterward.

Again, my one issue. This is THE MOST CRITICAL ELECTION OF OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY, please see the importance of voting and save the score-settling house cleaning with the party elites for 2013.

More specifically, decent jobs (with salaries that take into account the unreported inflation).

That is Obama’s weakest spot; he wants to create a nation of government-dependent serfs, while Repubs need to create more workers via individual and corporate tax cuts (who then became taxpayers, parents, maybe homeowners). The issues in all three sectors (falling tax revenues, declining American birthrates, and the housing market) can all be attributed to a lack of stable, decent jobs.

Without jobs we’ve become Western Europeans...

If the pubs really want the most influential issues that can actually take the lead in correcting the spiral this Republic has been put in, here would be the lineup.

1. Drill offshore / drill on “federal” land. Open that up and watch the economic pedal hit the metal.

2. Dissolve the EPA.

3. Throw CommieCare in the trash in it’s entirety, pass a REAL budget and cut the idiot spending, TARPs, TWISTs, QE-x, drop capital gains tax, death tax, etc.

4. Deport, deport, deport. Proof of Citizenship for all State and Federal benefits. If it isn’t bent – broke – bleeding, it isn’t going into the Emergency Room. NO FREE ANCHOR BABIES AT THE HOSPITAL. NO SS checks. No school busses at the border crossings. No “Dreamers.” Hire illegals = GO TO JAIL.

Just those four things will do more for the economy in one quarter that everything the commie donks have “done” in the past six years.

If they can’t handle four, do the first three.

If they can’t handle three, do the first two.

If they can’t handle two, do the first one.

.

Specific plans to get the economy back on track including Energy, Trade, Immigration (labor supply), and banking.

But what I’d most like to see is Romney repent of his Mormonism and past actions that supported gay marriage and accept traditional Christianity.

As of this writing, the per-capita share of the National Debt is .... drum roll, please: $50,880. That’s over one year’s average wages for every man, woman and child in the United States.

So Yahoo is polling Democrats about issues at the GOP convention???

How unconventional.

By R.M., Florida

Equality for everyone is something I feel we should all be talking about. Actually, I think it's sad that it needs to be discussed. We shouldn't have to campaign for equality in 2012. Women deserve to earn equal wages and make all decisions regarding to their bodies. Gays should be allowed to marry and have all of the rights and privileges that go with that. These things should be automatic and unconditional. But since they aren't, my vote will go to whoever offers the most fairness and respect on these issues.

For over 45 years now, Democrats have alleged that women earn 75% of what men do. That means that for 45 years, they have NEVER seen anything approaching equity at any level. Smells like B.S. to me. Then she ways in for support of abortion and same sex marriage.

The author is a professional blogger and a Yahoo contributor. Doesn't sound like a "core" or even borderline Republican.

Apparently even former US citizens get a say in the GOP convention's platform!

By I. S., Malta

At 55, right before the last presidential race, I had to leave the United States and move to Malta because I could no longer afford my health insurance premiums, which had been going up by 25 percent for the past years. If I had remained in Dover, N.H., I would have had to choose between paying the rent and going to the doctor. The choice to move to another country where I can work and receive national health insurance was a matter of survival. But it was a choice that meant leaving my daughters behind. The United States must give all citizens the right to health care. If Europe can, why can't we?

Another Democrat Yahoo Contributor weighing in on what "issues" the GOP needs to be discussing.

Women's rights are a huge issue to me. I am a 46-year-old mother, wife and teacher, and I want the GOP to tell me why they think the government should be able to vote on who has control over my body, my daughter's body, and millions of American females' bodies. The GOP should explain to American voters how their stance on women's health care and abortion rights is furthering our country instead of setting us back 40 years to a time when women fought to be treated the same as men.

Here is another post:

http://voices.yahoo.com/photographs-president-obama-11692186.html?cat=75

"Davis, CA voters show their allegiance to peace, President Obama, and preserving our environment in August, 2012 and beyond."

Pravda Media gonna propagandize.

I looked through the 21 posts, at least 2 of them are clearly Democrat bloggers. NOTHING at the GOP convention is going to sway them to vote.

How many covert Republicans will get to similarly voice pro-life and border concerns during the 2012 Democrat convention coverage?
