Add Isaac shutting down the gulf oil ops and we’re looking at huge spikes at the pumps for a while.

It’s almost worth paying more to see Hugo’s stolen refinery go up in flames.

If it takes $10 a gallon to get the Obamination out, money well spent.

Venezuela is so advanced. They do it all for themselves. Wait. I see Caterpillar, Case and either Peterbilt or Kenworth represented there. What is all that American made stuff doing there?

1972 to 1994 they pretty much managed to improve the production by something like -50%. Good job boys, you’re right on schedule to do it again.

I note that Chavez et al are sticking with the claim that there’s no reason to think this was due to poor maintenance or bad practices. If not those, then what? Are we about to see the official “Evil Western Capitalist Imperialist Pig Sabotage” card thrown onto the table?

Probably about the same time that Iran gets on Israel's last nerve.

The shut down of the Gulf production will last 8 days tops, just read one of the big producers, has already sent their people back. When are we going to use the oil we now have found in the U.S. instead of relying on a bunch of Camel Herders for our oil. We have just discovered an oil reserve in Texas that is judged to be 5 times the size of the Bakken in North Dakota, both together could supply all of our needs for the next 40 years.

Me too! Just read that those Leftist Humps in CT are upset that they are now paying over $4 a gallon, poor babies! Lets’ see how much they love the Zebra when it goes to $5 or more! Maybe McMahon will win this time! Just consider high gas prices a campaign donation in kind.

Bridge collapse, an important one too. Might take 15 days to get an alternate route there, it says at site.

Hugo’s got about 12 hours left on his prediction to re-open the plant by Tuesday.

Here come the Obama campaign gas pains!!! Between this and the other refinery fires and the huricane shutting down all the gulf drilling platforms, to say nothing of the tanker terminals also being closed till the storms over... Obama should already be getting gas cramps!

He better stop smoking till the campaign is over!!!

Fluor Corp., Irvine California built that refinery for Lagoven (Venezuela’s nationalized oil company) under direction of Exxon, back in late 70s - early 80s.

I doubt Venezuela has operated it/maintained it since, without input from Fluor. My guess is Fluor will have a role in rebuilding it.

Big international constructor-engineers like Fluor have expertice that has no viable substitutes, and even the commies have to have t.

So expect some obscure entity arrangements to fascillitate them coming in to assist. They will “partner” or “consult” with local entities, even the Ven. govt.

The real scary quote here:

Chavez no longer has the excuse of blaming the previous Government.

14 years later and the previous govt is still being blamed. Obama can easily keep blaming Bush for 8 years.
