Romney says abortion legal for mother's health [to CBS on 8/27/2012]

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Republican Mitt Romney says he is in favor of abortion in cases of rape, incest and the health and life of the mother.

The presidential candidate's addition of the health of the mother is certain to raise questions about Romney's position among conservatives. Health can be broadly defined and, in fact, running mate Paul Ryan has challenged the health exception as a major loophole.

Romney commented in an interview Monday with CBS News.

Romney's position on abortion rights has evolved. When he ran for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, he backed abortion rights. As a presidential candidate, he has opposed abortion rights and says the Supreme Court should reverse the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

In a statement, Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said Romney's position is clear — that he opposes abortion except for cases of rape, incest and where the life of the mother is threatened.

Romney is not our problem.

WE are our problem, or did you miss that in my post?

When you are in the process of being given over, as a society, to your own stubborn devices you best take what graces you can. If Balaam’s ass (Romney) is nice enough to block your way to destruction even for a moment, you’d best be grateful.

Grateful to a leader within an anti-Christian cult?

You are quite far out there, my friend.

Even though Romney may well be an ass, he is more like Balaam himself than the talking donkey.

“Romney is as pro-life as Margaret Sanger”

~ ~ ~

Exceptions in three cases but the baby is still a baby?Voting for Romney is a mortal sin on your soul folks.
You can’t say you didn’t know.

Geron,
Have you ever watched the Mick Wallace interview with
Margaret Sanger on Youtube? Wallace has a cig in one hand and stumps her with moral and pro-life questions. She sounds so hollow in response.

Romney’s Akin moment. Health of the mother is very open to interpetation! No pro-lifer says that. That’s what the Planned Parenthood types say.

Romney campaign slogan should be HOPE & CHANGE. Vote him in and HOPE he CHANGES. He is and always has been a liberal.

Good question.

A tubal pregnancy, unless removed, is death to the mother and the fetus. I’d just love to hear some answers from these folks. Come on - jump in.......

And here’s another question. If the health of the mother results in death, just what do you think is going to happen to an undeveloped fetus?

I can’t find an actual quote in this article ... that SAYS Romney is in “favor” of abortion in cases of rape, incest and the health and life of the mother .. looks like what he said is that it’s “legal.”

They already did that in Massachusetts. They replaced the elected delegates with delegates that were chosen by the Romney campaign.

t There is a strong conservative contingent in Massachusetts, and the state and national GOP have told us our participation is not welcome except at the voting booth.

Folks, they are stealing the party out from under us.

Ummm. I would submit that the party was stolen in 1988 in New Orleans when GHW Bush was nominated.

I said "their right", indicating they demand the right to fornicate (and then demand the right to abort/murder). I don't support such "rights".

It's a relative gratefulness. I do not agree with Mormonism, nor do I confuse electing a President with a pastor or deacon. Many here appear to, imagining we really are a Christian theocracy.

I wouldn't mind having the Romney family for neighbors. In times like these, degraded as we have made ourselves as a country, I think we could do far worse for a President (see: current occupant of WH).

Yeah, that analogy was a little weak. I was trying to say something with that and failed.
