Police said a neighbor who has a gun carry permit spotted a burglar next door and put the man on the ground.
Officers said James Kelly Glover, 37, of 1421 Wright St., was still lying down with a handgun trained on him when they arrived at the address on Jenkins Road.

Could do with a reliable neighbour...what's his phone number..?
When the officers arrived did they shoot his dog for good measure?
A good neighbor indeed. However he didn’t need a conceal carry permit in Tennessee to do that.
The easiest thing in the world is to be a critic.
The story went the added extra step to mention the neighbor had a permit, not that he needed it to perform the civil action he did.
I just received my CCW from Florida and it is amazing the feeling of security one has when you receive it. Now we need to get the law revised so if we happen to drive through a campus with the weapon as they say consealed, that we cannot be arrested and have our CCW taken away from us.
FR is a good source for these stories. On another forum I had somebody say “If ccws were effective in reducing crime, then we would hear more about ccws shooting criiminals”. I responded with a list of five incidents from one day and made the point that the incidents are only reported locally and that is why you don’t hear of them. She shut up.

Danny must be so proud.
I’m in TN and the security guard at my granddaughter’s school told my husband that he was more than welcome to bring his gun on school property locked in his truck when he came to drop her off, pick her up, or any other activity.
Most places in TN are more reasonable than places in other states. Some of the law is still stupid though. When I was going to night school at our local college I was told that as a student, even though I had a permit and was over 50 (not a kid), that I could not leave my gun locked in my truck but if I were a visitor, I could.
Excellent work! That is why I think it is important to post these stories here. They are routinely spiked by the MSM. Your contribution to factual information flow made my day!
Too bad he didn’t put them in the ground.
The writer has given his name and address so the perp’s enemies can go get him
Who is the writer? where does she live? Phone number? Presstitute sacrifice might be in order
I do so love a story with a happy ending!

VA law says you can bring weapon on school property IF you possess a CCP but must remain in vehicle.
However, a ‘new(er)’ law allows one to carry concealed in your vehicle whether you have CCP or not kind of ‘hazy’ but the law kind of leans (at least my interpretation) towards ‘On school property ONLY with CCP, then left in vehicle’.
Just like in bars, the ‘law’ reads NO weapons in bars, but if you read the whole statute, it says as long as you are NOT imbibing, and have a CCP, you are okay.
I think they are purposely ‘fuzzy’ so as to give ‘them’ leeway if needed....
However, if not drinking, and ‘they’ receive a complaint, once they check your CCP etc, the case should be over.
My ‘intentions’, in warranted situations are:
I will draw to protect YOU or your customers but NOT your money etc -if the situation starts to go ‘south’ and slapping around/or hostage situation arises, I will draw and once drawn the only thing left to do is ACT.
The exception to that ‘rule’ is possible disarming someone and/or holding at bay once he is ‘secured’ -
My wife and I pretty much always carry (me always and her usually). The local gubmint has told folks in our area that evacuation is mandatory 9the cop who delivered the notice smiled and didn’t blink as he noticed my sidearm) and we aren’t budging because it looks like we will be high and dry with about 20’ to spare on this one. Since a mandatory evac means a lot of empty/unprotected homes, we have weapons strategically placed throughout the house and will not leave home without them for a few days.
The perps also have to factor in the other 98% of persons doing concealed carry in Tennessee that DON'T have a permit :>} Most who conceal carry likely do not have a permit. Hopefully within the next session or so our lawmakers will allow conceal carry without permit as it should be. But our current RINO governor is a former member of Bloombergs mayors against guns. Current Perp friendly laws in Tennessee don't even allow you to carry a club in your vehicle for protection.
