Obama voters reject 'hope and change' in new documentary

In an election year, there is nothing more powerful than the voices of regular Americans. Their excitement, hope, disappointment, anger, and distress have a greater impact than any politician's words ever could.

Citizens United Productions knows that. For their soon-to-be-released documentary, "The Hope and the Change," producer David N. Bossie and Writer/Director Stephen K. Bannon traveled to the swing states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to interview forty Democrats and independents who supported Barack Obama in 2008 and will not be backing him in 2012. The film will be screened at the Republican and Democratic conventions before wider distribution begins.

In a recent interview, Writer/Director Stephen K. Bannon told me that with the assistance of Democratic consultants Pat Caddell and Kendra Stewart, "It took a year to plan, locate, and film the voters." Bannon was impressed with the very first focus group, noting that "The way they articulated the angst, fear, and trepidation about their lives, the country, and their children's futures was incredible."

Throughout the documentary, 24 Democrats and sixteen independents recount how the euphoria and optimism they felt about candidate Obama were replaced with disappointment and dissatisfaction with President Obama's policies and their destructive ramifications.

Viewers experience the unfiltered, from-the-heart stories of former Obama supporters, including such 2008 sentiments as "He is just a charismatic individual who I saw as a knight in shining armor" and "Everyone was just so excited for this savior of our nation" to 2012 revelations like "What I see now is not who I saw during his campaign" and "We don't care that you're out at talk shows…I want to see you make this economy better."

They need to find that girl in Florida who was going to have her mortgage and gasoline paid for by Obama. It would be interesting to see how that worked out for her...

When it comes to 2012, one interviewee from "The Hope and the Change" reminds us that it is the record, not the rhetoric, that folks will be watching: "I'm sure there will be tons of speeches that say exactly what I want to hear. I'm not interested in what he says anymore. I'm interested in what he's done."

“I’m sure there will be tons of speeches that say exactly what I want to hear. I’m not interested in what he says anymore. I’m interested in what he’s done.”

That sentiment should deliver the election for Romney; the Sultan has no clothes, and we’ve spent a hard four years learning that...

Yeah, that is a little strange - unless it is being screened outside the conventions by a third (anti-Obama, but maybe still liberal) party.

"Everyone was just so excited for this savior of our nation"

This makes me gag. How anyone could ever hold this sentiment for any politician, regardless of your right/left persuasion, regardless of "charisma", is sickening.

Interesting that Pat Caddell was a part of this. I recall him as one of the handful of libs who still appear to have some sort of honor.

“Everyone was just so excited for this savior of our nation”

I really don’t understand this mentality, I did my own research on zero when he first came out of nowhere. When I saw his voting record, as in he voted present most of the time, I knew he would not or wasn’t capable of making decisions.

That’s all I needed to know.

Who want’s someone like that to lead our country?

She is probably still waiting for the check to come in and will vote for him again because that pesky Bush must have slowed thongs down...

Probably atheist. If you have no God you’ll invent your own. It is clearly euphoria, not rational thinking.

I used to wonder, how could somebody like Hitler ever get into a position of such power? The German people are anything but stupid, yet it happened.

...then I see people talking like this, take a good look at them. Seriously, just how far away are we from “the Christians are the problem in society”? (instead of Jews) Liberals have gone into a delusional feedback loop where they actually believe all the garbage being spewed by other Liberals, no matter how distorted or untrue. So long as it is anti-Christian they believe anything that is said.

The most active element causing this projection is the gay activist community. Between Islam and homosexuality, yes, Christianity is facing an all-out assault. Right here, right now.

If Obama wins, who knows what he’s going to do.

The Obamazoid you refer to is named Peggy Joseph. She is still waiting for her gas/rent $ and passing the time eating lots of pie.

Yes, it gives great insight into Nazism, and how so many millions were coerced into conformity (though Hitler was a much better speaker). Dissent was suppressed, and all had to play along or face repercussions.
