Poland has a fourth option -- a return to the commonwealth, międzymorze -- set up a Central-European union from Finland to Bulgaria. This would be neither German-French dominated nor Russian dominated, but a buffer state. both the Germans and Russians should be persuaded that removal of the buffer state of the Polish-Lithuanian Rzeczpospolita in 1795 let to WWI.

I would love to see that. The loss of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was indeed a tragedy for all of Europe.
