Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. John F. Kennedy
Since they are illegal and can't vote, there is no discrimination.
I guess no states rights means the federales can poke their finger in anywhere they want?
Please tell me again just WHY black and hispanic citizens can’t get an ID? Are there documented cases of legitimate claims that PROVE some kind of discrimination?
We f### around too much accepting illegal or unconstitutional rulings in the hope of getting it straightened out later, and I hate t'tell ya' ....
but, later never comes.
We either believe this is the last election or it isn't.
If we want to take a chance and hope zero will not have done away with anything called a legitimate election after another four years of him ... I think you're nuts. This IS our last chance to save America from the book burners ... already our kids have no clue ... already too many 'adults' honestly believe America is wrong .. and have no clue.
The clock has wound done months ago, the alarm is going off and hitting the snooze button only prolongs the calm before the storm.
May as well get up, get out of bed and ... um ... go to work.
It's only "controversial" for those who must violate voting laws to win elections.
Why can other states have voter ID laws, but Texas can’t?
I’m sure Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is taking this and the re-districting ruling to the US Supreme Court.
Hopefully, SC Justice Roberts will be on his meds the day Abbott argues before the court and rule in favor of Texas.
How close is the language in comparison to Indiana’s Voter ID law?
PA was smart and cribbed their law after it. Hopefully Texas did the same thing.
I’m shocked. /s
There’s no obstacle to blacks and hispanics getting IDs.
It’s just the same old, tired, but still effective insinuation of racism to get your opponent to back down, or to justify some inherently unlawful policy like affirmative action.
voter identification law discriminates against black, Hispanic and dead voters
Texas is one of many southern states that is under the post-bellum voter rights act that allows the feds to interfere with their elections.
The other states aren’t.
Why can’t people who do not have a driver license get a state photo id?
Don’t they have to show ID to get their welfare benefits?
Playing the old, tired, beat up race card.
Time to ignore the sick anti-American courts.
The story has been corrected to be about “redistricting maps” instead of “Voter ID”.
“Texas is one of many southern states that is under the post-bellum voter rights act that allows the feds to interfere with their elections.”
Extended for an additional 25 years by Jorge Arbusto and a Republican congress.
With friends like this, who needs enemies?
Newt hit right on the nail.
“Dont they have to show ID to get their welfare benefits?”
Sure, this isn’t about legitimate voters showing their ID, its about the vote fraud programs run by the RATS and the unions that would be upset by the ID requirement. The minorities who complain that this is a burden for them are just going along so that their “benefactors” stay in power and keep the checks coming in!
The ugly truth is that the federal government wants both illegal aliens here, and for fraudulent voting to be easy and painless. That’s the simple truth. The stuff about “disenfranchisement” is a lie, refuted by study after study. So it’s pretty pointless to wring our hands and try to use logic and reason to explain these court decisions, when Occam’s razor once again has it all tied up into a neat little bundle.
Talk about egg on their faces:
Federal court strikes down Texas redistricting plans

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. federal court ruled on Tuesday that a controversial Texas redistricting map discriminates against black and Hispanic voters, effectively killing the map before it could take effect for the November 6 presidential election
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued the ruling. The state maps, passed by the Republican-dominated Texas legislature, redrew districts in a way that reduced the influence of minority voters, the court ruled.

And we are getting much closer to that realization.
The Voter ID law won’t be blocked until at least tomorrow.
Thanks! That was quick.
Hi AM!
Can we get a title correction,, Reuuters/Yahoo got their wires crossed?

Federal court strikes down Texas redistricting plans
"The electoral system cannot inspire public confidence if no safeguards exist to deter or detect fraud or to confirm the identity of voters." That was the conclusion of the bipartisan Commission on Federal Election Reform, headed by former president Jimmy Carter and former secretary of State James Baker. The commission recommended stronger photo-identification requirements at the polls. Its logic was straightforward and convincing: Americans must show photo identification for all kinds of day-to-day activities, such as cashing checks or entering government buildings. The many photo ID requirements we encounter in our daily lives are legitimate, effective security measures. Securing the ballot box is just as important.
So the court is saying, putting the illegal voter issue aside, essentially, that blacks and Hispanics are too stupid to get a government ID.
Bears repeating. Hope you boys up there are listening. Enough of this crap!
Exactly. On matters like these, it`s high time to tell these courts to **** off.
How does it discriminate against Hispanics, even the illegal ones? Don’t they go to Fiesta grocery stores when they need to procure an ID card if someone in the DPS office won’t sell them a legitimate card for $$$?
Hey Texas Brethern:
Remember reading in your Texas history when Santa Ana told you how it was going to be. Recall what you did. Time again to answer the bell.
HYPOCRISY can be a b*tch except when the Jouralistsa don't bother to point it out.
Holder Demands Journalists Show Photo ID to Get Into His NAACP Talk on Evils of Photo ID Laws (Gateway Pundit ^ | July 10,2012 | Jim Hoft)/A
Why does your title indicate that the ruling dealt with voter ID?

Is Neil Young still dead?
The voters wanted a majority GOP legislature in TEXAS. We get one so we get to draw the lines. BUT NOOOO we have that insidious Voting Rights Act that will eventually turn this state blue and in control of Mexico. The RATS know if Texas goes blue it is clear sailing for them.
“Texas is one of many southern states that is under the postbellum voter rights act that allows the feds to interfere with their elections.”
Then how do we explain Arizona? Arizona is not a southern state, yet this very day, Holder sent his injustice department minions to the Grand Canyon State in order to monitor Arizona’s primary election. Gotta make sure no one discriminates against those illegals from Mexico when they show up at the polls, I suppose.
As for Texas, I wish Rick Perry would thumb his nose at the hack federal judge and say in a public venue, in front of the cameras, “Go to hell....were are going to ask EVERYONE to show an ID at the polls this November, black, white, hispanic, EVERY race, color and creed. And if the feds don’t like it, tough crap.”
Reuters was apparently reporting a fake but accurate conclusion.
There’s always somebody who wants to change the text ~ but that’s not the issue here. It’s simply political by a political judge. This is one of the reasons we have to reduce the size of the federal judiciary. Starve the beast of the bodies it needs to dig into every little matter.
Of course they can, at $0.
This is just more horsedoo from holder n nobama.
You are right, and in the heavily illegal areas, we should geta few folks to hang around the polling places with Border Patrol caps on. I guess the dimocraps would say we are not allowing illegals to legally vote. Or would they call non-voter intimidation. It is time for war.
When I vote here in East Texas, Mrs Pat always makes me show my photo ID. We were in the same Sunday School class. She knew my parents and grandparents. I still had to go back out to the car and get my license.
As a lifelong resident of Texas, I have always had to present a photo ID (drivers’ license) in order to vote. The very thought that Mexican and other illegals will be able to vote this election without having to provide the same proof I’ve always had to provide makes me madder than I’ve ever been. Maybe it IS time to face the reality that we’re not going to win this thing peacefully.
Outstanding arrest warrants tend to hamper ID acquisition.I am a Texan, and I am really gettin’ tired of this crap.
They get welfare and that requires an ID.
