RUSH: See, I understand it, but then on the other hand I don't understand. They had a unified convention. Everybody showing up in Tampa was unified, get rid of Obama, let's turn this country around, and now, whoever -- Romney, the party, the RNC -- whoever's doing it started this rules fight that's gonna tear everything apart. Like I say, on the one hand I understand it. On the other hand, it doesn't make any sense. Not that I agree.
I know what they're trying to do, folks. And if you're just joining us, I don't have time to replay or redo the whole first half hour of the program. Essentially, the establishment Republicans, the RNC, the GOP, the Romney campaign, want to change the rules of delegate selection. They want the presidential nominee in future years to be able to choose the actual delegates to the convention so that he owns them, so they do what he wants. And what it really is is an effort to eliminate grassroots people from the Republican convention. That's really what this is all about. What that means is that the party has decided it doesn't want to have to put up with a bunch of conservatives showing up, affecting the platform and all the other things that happen at the convention, including influencing the party.

I don't think that that's the end result of this because of the patriotism of these people and the very nature what this election's all about. This is not going to change that. At any rate, Bill, I appreciate the call. Thanks much. It really is an inside baseball subject. It's real, and it is happening, and it is an effort by the establishment to deemphasize conservatives -- and if they're not careful with this, they're gonna end up causing their worst nightmare to happen, which is third party. If they're not careful, that is where this is all gonna end up.

The GOP has left conservatives, with its leader
the author of DEATH PANELS and gay marriage.
Why bother...
Don’t worry, they’ll blame Ron Paul, Todd Akin, and when they lose, Paul Ryan.
Third Party loses, so does the Republican Party in a 3 way contest.
Still, we have little choice but to go Third, but given we conservatives have leaders who either lost, left the race, or didn’t run at all, and who ALL endorse now a socialist/Marxist at the top of our ticket, I will be looking elsewhere for the leader competent enough to be fearless, show himself, and RUN without personal issues, excuses, and never backing down.
Time to go buy some more ammunition and food, because Obama is going to win this election... and the nominee from the RINO party could care less, as long as he has more political control over the little people.
Hopefully the hatred of O will supersede this stupidity. This can be addressed later. There is plenty of time to form a third party. It doesn’t need to be done now. Do it now and we won’t need a third party...cause we won’t have a country.
A vote for a third party only helps Obama.
If the GOP can’t defeat Obama and produce a conservative Presidency, its dead. It will never run another candidate who has a serious chance of getting elected and I have supported Romney and will continue to do so.
Previously I have always said a thrid party can’t fly. But if those people down there blow this, the GOP is finished and its time to establish a third party and drive the RINOS over to the Dems where they belong.
I’m real glad I have a solid conservative congressman to vote for and a decent senate candidate because they will be the only reason I even bother going to the polls this time.
All those who are surprised the GOP wants to usurp states rights...again? It’s not like they don’t have a history of it going back to the VERY BEGINNING.
Conservatives suffer from battered wife syndrome when it comes to the RNC.
I am a hard line conservative and probably a tea partier although i don’t belong to any group
Why should we conservatives have to break away? It is the old line RNC types who are trying to thwart the influence of the conservatives.
If we let the RNC have its way on this the Republican party will be dead in 10 years, run over by the Dems.
How any anyone think what the RNC wants is a good idea? It goes against everything our country was founded on
Sorry, my friend, but, hatred for Obama has superceded our Republic.
You and I have lost our voice inside our party while the party has given you Obama II, on a smaller scale.
Enabling socialist/Marxists is upon us.
Despite being a bit of a RINO I like the fact that Pete Hoekstra says he would like to see the 17th amendment overturned. It was a disaster that virtually eliminated the power of state legislatures in Washington.
This is unlike Rush, the rules fight has already been settled. Hello? McFly?
I don’t disagree at all. I match your self description to a “t”. I’m just saying first things first. If we just had a shi$$y President, that’d be one thing...but we have a bonafide ENEMY sitting in the chair. We gotta get him out first and deal with these RINOS later.
What caused Ryan to say “no” to running for President? Our problem is: none of our best stepped forward. Why not??
A small step for tyranny, a large step for centralizing power in DC. And then it begat Gucci Gulch!
As I said when this all started last year, there's simply no "there" there when it comes to the GOP-e. Their guy was getting about 20% of the early primary/caucus votes at best.
You can't win an election with that even if you do horns-waggle enough people into giving you the nomination!
The greater part of the Republican party is sitting there waiting for the leadership, and they'll get together and put in their guy, and get rid of Obama and his running dog lackeys. That's because they know what to do and they want to do it.
I’ve had this nagging thought in the back of my head for a while now - that the GOP is not interested in winning an election. Their candidates - Dole, Bush, McLame and now Romney have all been one step away from blowing the election. Bush was an accomplished debator, yet look at his performance vs. Kerry in the debates.
If the GOP doesn’t want Conservatives, fine. This is exactly what happened to the Whigs. And history has a way of repeating itself. They won’t get my money and Romney doesn’t get my vote. You see, principles DO matter.
I just said that. A third party helps the Democrats. I just said that. Our democracy is gone already.
There will be no third party this cycle that amounts to anything. We have no options in the Republican Party. What magic would you suggest that un-does what was done today?
More dreams of taking care of everything “later”, “holding their feet to the fire” AFTER the election. LOL! We sure showed them at convention today, didn’t we?
You make good points
I though think the ticket is the way it should be
Romney does have a ton of real life experience managing large enough businesses that he can apply some of that to the gov’t
plus I think he will know the right people from the private sector to help.
LLS
Probably. These guys are giving Obama much more than he ever imagined he would get from them.
I say we get mittens elected on Nov 6, then on Nov 7 start the creation of a new party the is everything the GOP is not. Based on the founding principles-no rinos allowed.
LLS
What the Ben Ginsburg/Romney/GOP are doing only helps Obama - DON'T blame the voter! Stick w/facts!
LLS
Todd Akin for President!
Step 1: Vote for Romney and pack the house and senate with as many true conservatives as possible.
Step 2: Eject the commies and radicals from every corner of Washington
Step 3: Form a new conservative party and finish the job.
“Dont worry, theyll blame Ron Paul, Todd Akin, and when they lose, Paul Ryan.”
Maybe Obama’s supposed to win, then he can let it all hang out and the Republicans can point the finger at him while having their hands out behind their backs. The scapegoat.
I agree, hold the nose, vote Romney and then keep up the fighting spirit and start a completely different party the day after the election.
I’m voting to get rid of Obama, and after the election ending my 30 year association with the GOP.
Exactly right. They (gop-e) will always blame someone else for their mistakes.
If Palin were to run on a third party ticket and the polls show the republicans gettin’ whipped, I believe they would ask their supporters to vote for obama.
It’s the same with the congress. If a third of them were a third party the republicans would caucus with the democrats.
Hopefully the hatred of O will supersede this stupidity.
The left wing of the GOP doesn’t hate Obama.
Why should we conservatives have to break away?
Because the GOP has always been a left leaning party. A coalition of conservatives has tried to make it a conservative party after the Democrats went hard left, but we haven’t suceeded.
We Conservatives who refused to support the whole ‘ABO’ meme that in reality was nothing more than a shill operation for voting Romney have been saying from the beginning, that Obama and the Media CHOSE Romney to be our nominee for the purpose of ensuring an Obama victory.
This is nothing more than old Soviet Union election illusions. Romney was chosen and shoved down our throats to ensure Obama “wins” while creating an illusion that the electoral process is still viable.
It’s not. Cook County is now national and omnipresent.
America has seen her last open, free and honest elections. The Ruling Class will pick our leaders for us from now on, and Conservatives are going to find themselves akin to wearing yellow crosses on their lapels when all is said and done.
We are full-blown MarxoFascist - and the Ruling Class is going to make sure it stays that way.
There’s no way to stop of fix this beyond bloodshed. That’s fact.
And I daresay we are far too late to even hope for an outcome that doesn’t resemble the French revolution bloodbath.
Draw near to God, while He may still be found. That is our only hope anyway.
Sometimes, the key to electoral success isn’t so much one candidate’s personal charisma, intellectual brilliance or sheer eloquence as much as it is a matter of the bumbling incompetence of the opponent.
Some people are willing to sacrifice their children and other posterity for their “strict” adherence to what they consider “principle”. AND THE MEDIA FIFTH COLUMN uses their “strict&rdquo (stupidity); adherence to impale them on their own adherence. I believe the biblical term is “STIFF NECKED” fits them correctly, as-in the Oklahoma City bombings, which were done by the inflexibilities of the AO bombers. This the last chance to reverse the Total Control/Stalinist/Nazi tide before oblivion and some are arguing what what color should the THEIR flush water in THEIR TOLIET be. PLEASE die OF SOMETHING.
MITT WOULD NOT APPROVE OD THIS MESSAGE.
That's when you strike!
Doesn't mean organizational planning can't take place earlier though. That can go on right now ~ they aren't going to be asking Conservatives to do the boots on the ground stuff anyway.
PS welcometofreerepublic
LLS
It failed to grab my attention this year.
That truly is THE problem. It’s almost like he’s one of them!
Voting for Romney puts the nail in Conservatism as a viable political force in the country.
This is Cook County folks, gone national. At this point forward, any attempt by Conservatives to form a party in opposition to the GOP and DNC will be rendered ‘null and void’ by TPTB.
There is no way to solve where we have arrived in tyranny via the political process. History makes the lesson of where we now find ourselves perfectly clear.
It won’t end with Conservatives being made politically irrelevant. The Ruling Class will declare our principles illegal, criminal and a threat to national security.
I can make that accusation with 100% confidence, because history proves that fact correct, time and again. Not to mention the skids greased with everything from the 2009 April DHS Terrorism Assessment to all the ammo purchases by the Alphabets to the contempt and hatred exhibited towards us by those in power and office.
America has no clue what time it really is.
That the GOP and the Obama regime are allies together is still something even most Conservatives refuse to consider.
