I’ve had this nagging thought in the back of my head for a while now - that the GOP is not interested in winning an election. Their candidates - Dole, Bush, McLame and now Romney have all been one step away from blowing the election. Bush was an accomplished debator, yet look at his performance vs. Kerry in the debates.
If the GOP doesn’t want Conservatives, fine. This is exactly what happened to the Whigs. And history has a way of repeating itself. They won’t get my money and Romney doesn’t get my vote. You see, principles DO matter.

I just said that. A third party helps the Democrats. I just said that. Our democracy is gone already.
There will be no third party this cycle that amounts to anything. We have no options in the Republican Party. What magic would you suggest that un-does what was done today?
More dreams of taking care of everything “later”, “holding their feet to the fire” AFTER the election. LOL! We sure showed them at convention today, didn’t we?

You make good points
I though think the ticket is the way it should be
Romney does have a ton of real life experience managing large enough businesses that he can apply some of that to the gov’t
plus I think he will know the right people from the private sector to help.

romney lost 20% of his tepid support today. obama just won reelection. Your repugnican party is now too weak to survive. This election was over when boehner finished sticking his dagger into our backs.

Rita, if you want to see romney and his gang retreat... then Conservatives need to make this pos socialist become the first gop candidate to come out of his convention with a 20 point LOSS of support. I am done with this bunch of dims... they are all progressive one world order bushites. LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN!

A vote for a third party only helps Obama. What the Ben Ginsburg/Romney/GOP are doing only helps Obama - DON'T blame the voter! Stick w/facts!
To: muawiyah
They are truly power hungry demons. The gop/e do not care for Americans or America... they only care about their own power and wealth.

Step 1: Vote for Romney and pack the house and senate with as many true conservatives as possible.
Step 2: Eject the commies and radicals from every corner of Washington
Step 3: Form a new conservative party and finish the job.

“Dont worry, theyll blame Ron Paul, Todd Akin, and when they lose, Paul Ryan.”
Maybe Obama’s supposed to win, then he can let it all hang out and the Republicans can point the finger at him while having their hands out behind their backs. The scapegoat.

I agree, hold the nose, vote Romney and then keep up the fighting spirit and start a completely different party the day after the election.

If Palin were to run on a third party ticket and the polls show the republicans gettin’ whipped, I believe they would ask their supporters to vote for obama.
It’s the same with the congress. If a third of them were a third party the republicans would caucus with the democrats.

Hopefully the hatred of O will supersede this stupidity.
The left wing of the GOP doesn’t hate Obama.

Appropriately enough, George Romney provides the perfect example. In 64 he threw a tantrum about the "Birchers" being a tiny minority who needed to be evicted from the party. When Goldwater won, Romney stomped off stage like an angry little girl. Romney and the "moderates" actively worked to defeat Goldwater in the general election and have used Goldwater's loss (That they orchestrated) as an example of why the GOP needs to be more moderate ever since.
The GOP is fixin to get run down by a truckload of bad ju ju.

Why should we conservatives have to break away?
Because the GOP has always been a left leaning party. A coalition of conservatives has tried to make it a conservative party after the Democrats went hard left, but we haven’t suceeded.
