Romneys IL campaign chief Dan Rutherford says offended pro-family conservatives can go someplace else and drink

By Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH Exclusive
Folks, there is a reason that conservatives often jokingly call the Republican Party the stupid party (as opposed to the Democrats being the liberal party).
We learned today from the Chicago Sun-Times that the Illinois Republican Party delegation to the GOP convention in Tampa led by former legislator and current Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is partnering with a homosexual activist group that is pushing to close down what it calls the hate-filled, homophobic Chick-fil-A restaurants in the state.
Equality Illinois (EQ), the leading gay pressure group in the state, is sponsoring the IL-GOP event by covering the bar tab at the IL-GOP Beachside Cocktail Hour this evening in Clearwater, FL, where the Illinois delegation is staying. EQ, which lobbies aggressively to legalize homosexual marriage in the state, curiously combined its sponsorship with a fierce condemnation of the GOPs conservative platform particularly the partys call for a federal marriage amendment.
Recently, Equality Illinois led a pro-homosexual Flick-the-hate campaign to pressure leasing and rental companies to cut ties with the 19 Chick-fil-A restaurants in Illinois.

I'm calling out the queers on this. Find me a Chick-fill-A restaurant where the employees are hate-filled or homophobic and I'll apologize and donate $1000 to your cause. Video proof required.
That’s not the point.
Point is to push the center to the left. Simply opposing “gay marriage” (oxymoron) makes you guilty of “hate speech.”
There’s no debate. “Homophobe” is the equivalent of the race card. Game over.
In their minds, just the fact that CFA does not celebrate, embrace, and affirm their “equality” in marriage is hate-filled and homophobic. It’s like a vegetarian saying anyone who eats meat is a hater of vegetarians. What absurd heights this has now reached. Time to call it quits with the gay agenda....
It can’t continue on like this.....it just can’t...
Yep. Only maybe some time in the not so distant future they won’t be feeling so fabulous.
There has long been speculation that Dan Rutherford, a nice guy that I halfway know, is more than a little “light in the loafers.” He was cornered in an interview several years back by Fran Eaton, editor of Illinois Review, and asked flat out if he was gay. He unequivocably denied it. No reason to lie about it, a lot of IL pols are out on the dark side.
Your tagline says it all. There is NO conservative party in this county anymore. After this year, there won’t even be one where conservatives are remotely welcome. The rats are marxists, the pubs are opportunists. From Reagan’s day, it’s been a short quick trip.
hmm, he seems to want to play it both ways, alas....
Destroying the Republican party as a vehicle for conservatism is far worse than anything Obama could hope to do as a lame duck President.
A vote for Romney for the suicide of the conservative movement. Stupid doesn't even describe the ABO crowd.
But, but, but I thought Romney and 0 are so different? I mean I heard it right here on FR.
Oh, Romney supports abortion to protect the "health" of a woman (which is ambiguous enough to to mean abortion on-demand).
But, at least Romney wants to repeal I mean replace 0bamacare.
Well, at least Romney isn't a gun grabber......oh wait.
Don't worry Mitt et al, I as a conservative will go elsewhere............... with my vote.
Peter is wrong about one thing. This isn’t stupid of Republicans know social conservatives are going to vote Republican no matter what. Voting for Romney sends the Republican establishment that message.
In the words of Karl Rove:
“Of COURSE they’ll vote Republican, where ELSE are they gonna go?”
Romneys IL campaign chief Dan Rutherford says offended pro-family conservatives can go someplace else and drink
If that’s the GOP’s attitude, that’s what we’ll be doing November 6th, for sure Dan: we’ll go someplace other than the polls, and here’s mud in your eye.

To those who say we should focus on fiscal issues, instead of the right to life, I say, What is more fiscally responsible than rolling back this administrations effort to expand funding for abortion at home and abroad?” Pence said. “What is more fiscally responsible than denying any and all funding to Planned Parenthood of America?
“To those who say that marriage doesnt matter, I say, You would not be able to print enough money in 1,000 years to pay for the government you would need if the traditional family continues to collapse,’” the Indiana Republican added. “We are at our strongest when fiscal and social conservatives are united.”
It sounds like the GOP-e is on thin ice, but wants to barn dance.
Dear Masters of Moderate Men: I believe I’ll sit this one out ...
Neither does McDonalds or Wendy's.
No, I think the queers are blindly and ragingly pissed off that Dan Cathy had the cojones to speak out about his faith. They absolutely can't stand that and are like little children stamping their feet and screaming because they can't get their way.
Actually, when you think about it, it's kinda humorous.
Yeah, true. But by Wendy’s and McD’s remaining silent on the matter, the gays can kind of “hope” that it means, “yes” (we view you as equal in marriage) whereas Cathy spilt the beans and said, “no”. And yes, like kids, they don’t want to hear “no” to something they want.
And don’t forget that lavender Rutherford wants to run for governor in 2014 when Quinnochio will have to defend his abysmal record. We will be thinking of the annual Chicago Perverts on Parade as a GOP function with Rutherford and Judy Baah Baah Tooopinka as BIG cheerleaders.
AND Myth Romney will probably serve as Grand Marshall.
The homonazis are really making a big mistake with this over the top, jack booted, goose stepping nonsense.
A lot of people like me, once upon a time, didn’t give a flying sh** about queers and what they do.
Now, with this “in yer face” hogwash, which to me is NO DIFFERENT from mudslimz, atheists, and commie pigs trying to force their belief system on me, Now, they have an ENEMY.
Where none existed before, they have created an enemy. I now shun the queers that I have socialized with in the past. When they start with the “whatzamatter? whatzwrong?”
I clue them in. Then, just like the mudslimz, they want to beg off by saying “you can’t blame me for those extremists!”
Yes I can and yes I do. They are YOUR fault, get them in line or get away from me.
They're in the business of selling food and are not privately owned like Chick-fil-A.
They wouldn’t and they didn’t. A poster said Wendy’s and McDs did not embrace gay marriage but were not boycotted. I still think it holds. Cathy spoke so he’s the bad guy.
“A lot of people like me, once upon a time, didnt give a flying sh** about queers and what they do.

You and me and a million others.
Very true words. Thank you for them and the link.

We've been talking and we decided it would be better if you didn't have your business here.
Rombot is just PUSHING FOR ME not to vote for him.
Meanwhile, in Missouri, GOP PhonyCons are trying to force out a Pro-Life conservative from the Senate race
Seems like a lot of those Illinois Gay GOP have been posting in the Akin threads
Bashing Christian conservatives on one side of the Mississippi...pandering to gays on the other side. Looks like conservatives may have to form their own third party
A third party sounds good right now....
I go to Chick Fil A regularly, both before and after the support Chick Fil A day and I can tell you that the best thing that can happen for Chick Fil A is for the Gays to keep up the boycott. The ones around me are packed every day.
Glad to hear it, good going! :-)
In other words, pro-life, pro-family conservatives, we don't need you. As if we needed any more evidence that we're just being used because they know we'll vote for the nominally pro-life, pro-family party. This year, the party is falling all over itself to convince me not to vote for any of its candidates. We're fighting an uphill battle, folks.
They don’t need proof. Allegations suffice for the fringe whackjob activists and their MSM lapdogs.
It’s so true, and it is saddening and above all appallingly infuriating.
Absolutely. So many of my pro-life, pro-family conservative friends are lifelong Republican activists. They've spent their entire adult lives trying to get like-minded people elected under the Republican banner. And this is the thanks they get?
Fortunately there's a decent young man running for the state legislature in my district - Sean Clark - and he seems to have his head on straight. I asked him some rather pointed questions about his stances on marriage, family, abortion, etc., and he answered them directly without any weaselly language. It'll be a joy to support him with my vote this November. But I don't feel as strongly about practically any other Republican in this year's race, all the way up and down the ballot. And that's especially true of how I feel about Mitt Romney.
