Over 120 Pastors & Christian Leaders Stand with Todd

St. Louis, MO: Today the Akin campaign released a list of over 120 pastors and Christian leaders who are publicly standing with Todd Akin. Some had previously signed their name, but many are voicing their support for the first time. These religious figures from every region of the state have decided to place their personal and very public support behind Congressman Todd Akin in his race for the United States Senate seat this year. The endorsement statement released was as follows:

We the undersigned do hereby affirm/reaffirm our continued support of Congressman Todd Akin for the office of United States Senate. We know his character and his conservative convictions. Furthermore, we accept fully his apology and his request for forgiveness. As stated in our previous endorsement: “We greatly appreciate his long standing commitment to our God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and his proven record of defending life, traditional marriage, religious liberty, the Second Amendment, free enterprise, limited government, fiscal responsibility and a strong national defense.”

It is for such reasons as these, that we the undersigned affirm/reaffirm our personal support and continue to encourage our fellow Missourians to support Congressman Todd Akin as our next United States Senator.

YEP -- After what the Romney camp pulled today in Tampa a lot of people got a wake up call though some are still stuck on stupid.

Riebus's statement today puts to rest the nonsense we heard all week about him not being able to beat McCaskill. The Romney GOP don't want him to win and never did. They would rather have McCaskill in the Senate.

Possibility of fracturing the Missouri Republican Party. I know many are reaching the “tipping point.” Priebus and the country club Republicans need to clam up.If they choose to withhold $, that is their call. But to continue pounding on Akin at this juncture only helps Ma McCaskill.

McCaskill doesn't need any help. It's over. And the 120 on this list know it. "At this juncture" it's all about making a pro-life statement. No one who backs Akin gives a rip about the lost senate seat. Disgusting.

If Akin wants some attention that may get more people back to his side, perhaps he should hold a press conference to address this:

20,000 Muslims at an official event at the DNC convention. The Grand Imam for the Jumah at the DNC is Siraj Wahhaj, one of the most sought-after speakers by Muslim organizations. WND reported Wahhaj urged the violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government.

He should promise that he will grill any Romney Atty General nominee about whether he/she would arrest this guy or anyone publicly advocating the violent overthrow of the U.S. government. Maybe he would bring back some of the people he lost.

18 U.S.C. § 2385 : US Code - Section 2385: Advocating overthrow of Government

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof - Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction. If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

As used in this section, the terms "organizes" and "organize", with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.

120? That many?

Impressive! Not!

That's like a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the number of "christian leaders."

I don’t believe Akin is evil. I meant the people posting on this thread believe Akin is evil, but they embrace Mitt, who is an evil man.

The people, on this thread, who support Mitt but hate Akin are the PC enforcers who are destroying the Republican Party and handing it over to the elites.

Not a lick of sense in that boys head. He is in spite mode now and it has nothing to do with principle.

Not now and not ever will there be a law forcing raped women to carry a child. To give this seat to a democrat is unconscionable.

He is dying on a hill with zero strategic value just to watch the invading army rape and pillage the people while he gasps his last political breath.

I’l say it AGAIN http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2923792/posts

WHY? It’s called the TRUTH. Truth is always important.
Republicans caused this disaster by jumping to conclusions and not heading this off right at the beginning.

After almost every Republican has helped dig a GIANT hole and thrown poor Todd Akin in it, you are screaming “STOP DIGGING”. YOU dug this hole, now lay in it.

Did you even read the article?, by Jane Orient, M.D., the executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.

When are all these Republican COWARDS going to grow a pair? If Republicans had put the press in their place, from the start, this would never have been an issue. But NOOOOOOO, they were scared of the press, so they decided to join them in destroying a fine, pro life conservative, who in-artfully stated FACTS. He was convinced by the powers that be, to apologize and retract poorly worded accurate statements. BOTH mistakes. He should have EXPLAINED what he “MEANT”.

Republicans PANICKED!, and that is why we are where we are.

Of all the things you have written, that is the most disgusting. Fuehrer Romney. I disagree with Romney profoundly and will fight him on policy if he wins, but to raise the specter of the Nazis is despicable on your part. Absolutely despicable.
