Where is Obama during this hurricane? (Posted on 8/28/12 at 6:16 p.m.) Obama's schedule today and tomorrow while Isaac bears down and passes through LA.
Campaign in Aimes, Iowa
Fort Collins, CO to campaign at CSU
Staying overnight in Fort Collins
Campaign in Virginia
Return to DC on Wednesday night.
Where is the media questioning Obama's involvement in hurricane preparation?
Isn't it insensitive to campaign at a time like this?
“Call me if you need me.”
1. Blame Bush.......
1. Blame Bush.......
2. Play Golf.....
In all fairness, maybe it’s good that he’s campaigning. It might mean he buck-passed command to someone who’s competent at dealing with an emergency. Everyone wins: Obama gets to campaign, and hurricane victims don’t have him effing up efforts to help them (which would of course ultimately be campaigning efforts).
So....Bush was criticized for not doing anything during Katrina. Obama is campaigning all week. Where’s the media outrage /sarc.
Ask that fat fatuous Chris Matthews. If you don’t mind having a conversation with a bunghole that smells like booze.
Barry is involved. The Obamazombie kids in the "White House" call their program, Preparation H.
it was his inaction after hurricane katrina that bush was criticized for...
obama is being kept informed as fox demonstrates: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/08/23/obama-stays-updated-hurricanes-irene-while-vacation
don’t put the cart before the ox...
Percieved inaction. He was quite active before, during and after. The complete failure of the Bush administration messaging at this point was appealing. Bush did fine. He was ahead of the situation, repeatedly asking Blanco to call an emergency. The governor and mayor sat on their butts. Bush flyover was appropriate, but got spun into something negative. The photos one day later showed our coast guard and military responding rapidly to help people stranded
The biggest mistakes was FEMA handing out debit cards to people who were hitting the strip clubs and buying smokes and booze with our tax money. FEMA showed to be less than able to handle the catastrophe, but FEMA did a great job down here in FL in other major hurricanes. Katrina was just a bigger mess than can be prepared for. If anything, it should have been held up as an example of unreasonable reliance on the Federal government, and the government's inability to 'take care of us'. Much as Jindal illustrated in the post-BP spill, where the federal government was nothing but a hindrance to dealing with the situation. FEMA is there to provide basic services in the event of a crisis, but to look for it to solve all problems is unrealistic. That point was not made.
He blew up real good.
