Skip to comments.SEAL book raises questions about bin Laden's death

A firsthand account of the Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden contradicts previous accounts by administration officials, raising questions as to whether the terror mastermind presented a clear threat when SEALs first fired upon him. Bin Laden apparently was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door into the top-floor hallway of his compound as SEALs rushed up a narrow stairwell in his direction, according to former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette, writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen in "No Easy Day." The book is to be published next week by Penguin Group (USA)'s Dutton imprint.

Bin Laden apparently was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door into the top-floor hallway ..................................................... So? What’s the problem?
Got to agree with ya there.
They’ve moved up the release date of this book now that Holder’s gestapo is threatening to arrest and bring charges against the author. Welcome to the “fundamentally transformed” Amerika.
The administration wanted to be all P.C. about getting Bin Laden. If the clucks in the White House had gotten him, he would have lived a nice retirement on some island at taxpayer expense....
I prefer the SEALS approach...See him, cap him.
This book is #2 in books on Amazon and it’s a pre-order. Bad news for Barry.
Let’s be clear if the operators on the ground felt they need to put a bullet in OB then fine with me.
My instructions would have been to take OB alive and to a place for serious interogation.
Further, there would have been no comment from the my White House or any other comments from US military or State Dept. leave everyone guessing.
BTW: There were other aircraft on call and I would have ordered a strike on the OB’s compound to destroy the damaged helicopter and level the place.
This would make any information retrieved more valuable.
By advertising the raid President Obama reduced the value of any information obtained and embarassed the Pakistanis.
Furthermore, there was a conspiracy at Fox News to create false author information, thus aiding the real conspiracy.
Adding to the conspiracy is the conspiracy of Amazon.com who threatens to either remove the book, or delay its release. Not sure if this conspiracy is actually part of the main conspiracy, but if it isn't, that too may be a conspiracy.

I thought the President dragged Bin Laden kicking and screaming out of his compound and then quickly dispatched him with his bare hands when he noticed that Bin Laden pulled an AK-47 out of his pocket and was about to shoot a baby with it... all while the SEALs watched in awe.
Did somebody get the account wrong?
close, but you forgot to mention he apologized to obl, before dispatching him.
What did I not understand correctly? I thought I heard Team Six was killed a few weeks later in a helicopter crash.
We have been living under tyranny for far too long, and Obama has just brought it to a new level. He is blatant about his unconstitutional agenda, and that's why it's time to act in regaining our freedom. The Presidential election isn't going to do that when you are at the point we are now. It's time for people to start working at the state level in getting their state rights back. They can do that by planning for confrontation with the federal government on their economy among other things. States need to be working together to tell the federal government that they will not recognize the obvious unconstitutional laws and mandates forced on them. Let them know you aren't going to waste money and years fighting a losing battle in courts that couldn't care less about our Constitution. We shouldn't do that when it comes to the obvious.
When the federal government starts trying to punish the state\s by withholding funds they can stop federal tax collection. The states must say we are not going to live under this tyranny, and you aren't going to stop us unless you are willing to give an order for some federal forces to murder innocent patriots who are only trying to restore their Constitutional rights.
Then if they want to start violence against American citizens they can give the order for federal forces to murder innocent people; that's an order that would more than likely be ignored, or even resisted by other federal forces if attempted. We aren't living in the same times of our brutal civil war, but we are living under a tyranny greater than we were at the time of our Revolutionary war. We are also able to act without as great a risk as our founding fathers had to deal with, and I think it's time we start working at the state level for a peaceful liberty we have been without for decades. What we can do now isn't a sacrifice like that of those who built this nation, and we owe it to them to try and save ourselves instead of just sliding into the black hole of tyranny like we have been.
I don't think it will come to violence, but the state must make it clear to our federal government that forcing their tyranny on us with violence is the only option for them, other than giving us back our freedom. If there is a clear line in the sand to what the stakes are there is less likely to be any sort of violence, or accidental confrontation. We can peacefully gain back our freedom.
Looks like Obama has the new tier 6, block 3 Blackhawk with the rear-mounted golf bags.
Personally, I've got no problem with this. Bin Laden needed to be killed not taken prisoner, especially since the Obama administration would have insisted on a public show trial regardless of the costs. But can you imagine the media outrage if this had happened when Bush was president?
It was an unpardonable criminal act to water board terrorists when Bush was president, but the assassination of a wounded and unarmed prisoner is perfectly okay when Obama is president.

Taken as written does that pass the smell test? In a house full of terrorists in a room that hasn't been fully cleared yet would you take two occupants shove them in a corner then turn all your focus on another individual?
The link you provided does not use the word “disparagingly”. Did they already change the copy?
Bossonette did write disparagingly of Biden.
“Bissonnette writes less flatteringly of meeting Vice President Joe Biden along with Obama at the headquarters of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment after the raid. He says Biden told “lame jokes” no one understood, reminding him of “someone’s drunken uncle at Christmas dinner.”
