A 13-year-old Texas girl who was repeatedly gang-raped by 20 males when she was just 11 broke down in court today as she watched a video of one of the horrific attacks.
The girl, who authorities haven't named, is testifying against Eric McGowen, 20, in the first trial stemming from the shocking case, which involved the 'pack of animals' raping her sometimes two at a time, anally and with a beer bottle.
McGowen is among 14 adults accused of sexually assaulting the girl in the series of horrendous attacks that took place in the small Texas community of Cleveland, 45 miles from Houston, over four months in 2010.

To get her verification in evidence that she was the victim, she remembers and recognizes the offender(s), and yes, that is him/them over there wearing orange jumpsuits/the coat and tie.
That stuff. Trials are often ugly for all concerned.
Also, some prosecutors like to elicit emotional stress from victims as it usually results in a near lock on a conviction. From the description, this is a case where that tactic would be justified. This kind of entertainment abuse could easily escalate into homicide, and has in some cases. Snuff porn has a market.

I think this is (primarily) a statutory rape case. Although is sounds like forcible rape also took place (a really horrendous case).
An 11 year is always considered legally incompetent to consent to having sex--hence in law whether she consents at all or not, it is considered rape.

She is Hispanic and may have feared INS more than rape. The rapists (which included several juveniles) were spreading a phone video around school and another child reported them. The victim never went to police, they had to go to her.
