Rice: 'American Strength Begins At Home' (Matthews prompts Mitchell to ask "birther" questions)
MSNBC ^ | August 29, 2012 | Condi Rice

Posted on 08/29/2012 9:23:04 PM PDT by Seizethecarp

Transcript @3:15: "This is Chris Matthews. Andrea, could you ask the secretary...her speech was so overpoweringly positive...was it kind of a rejoinder to all of the birtherism and the narrowness that she has heard in her party?"

@5:15 (Andrea)"Do you feel that there has been a very troubling question of race and of prejudice in this campaign by the birther movement and those who espouse it?" (Condi) "The birther movement is an extreme and there are extremes on both sides of the political spectrum. The great majority of the people here and the great majority of people in America believe that we are one America."

Some of us “conservatives” are really tired of folks that are being held up as our “leaders” responding to the crap the Brown Shirt Media is doing like a dog begging for a biscuit. It would submit this is why the Tea Party is leaderless.

All of that was covered between July 2008 and mid-2010.

But of course you wouldn’t know that.

Why does Matthews and the rest of the MSLSD progs have the irrational need for everyone to re-affirm 0bama was born in the USA???

How would I know?? I have not seen ANY solid proof! My personal affirmation does not make 0bama legitament

Other examples of extreme:

The 1776 revolution.

Going to the moon.

The civil war.

Sometimes extreme is what’s needed.

I think looking into the facts surrounding Obama’s birth is extreme at all. It is clear that the WHLFCOLB.pdf posted on the the wh.gov site is not a scan of a paper document, as claimed.

How can *anyone* justify *not* looking further when confronted with the facts regarding the WHLFCOLB.pdf?

After seeing Joe Arpio’s presentation, how can *anyone* not want to look further?

After reading the report at Moncktononline.com, how can *anyone* justify no further investigation?

To clarify, what was the altered ‘form’ thar Pelosi signed that approved Obama’s eligibility?

Oh, please explain how the “Civil War” was needed. Keep in mind that the war “settled” the issue as to whether or not states were indeed sovereign and whether we would have an all powerful central government...which has given us the Obama dictatorship.

Yeah, we REALLY need that.

Oh, please explain how the “Civil War” was needed.

Because no nation founded on the principle that all men are created equal could continue to exist when the law put in place to ensure that principle was used to deny it. That glaring omission had to be corrected, even if it threatened the existence of the nation itself.

The right side won, the wrong side lost.

Your side had the better generalship and the better soldiery; the north had the better cause. And God was watching. The end.

Spoken like a true RINO McCain Method believer. Your position in the sorry RINO wing of the formerly Great Republican Party is secure Condi.

BTW RINO Condi, what you going to say when the proof comes out that Obama really is an Illegal Alien?

No. The end has not been written. We see the continuance of the destruction of the United STATES of American in its relentless march toward the United STATE of America thanks entirely to Abe Lincoln and northern Federalist. Your point about the “threatened existence” of the nation makes no sense, given that the nation — as it was founded — was destroyed in 1865.

Another fact that fails is your “continue to exist” comment. The U.S. would have continued on, only without the southern states.

I come from the perspective that slavery was an abominable institution and would have ended eventually anyway, as it did in ever other western, civilized nation. Keeping in mind that the war was NOT fought to free slaves — and that by forcing “free” men of the South to be slaves to a union — there is NO moral high ground to be claimed...unless you believe there is nobility in freeing black people while enslaving white people.

This has been kicked around a million times on FR, but one simple fact NEVER changes...the path to a repressive central government began with the WBTS...whether you believe that war was fought for the right reasons or not. To champion that “victory” is to champion slavery by an all powerful federal government. Period.

So much for being on the “right” side.

When is someone going to ask Obama why won't he let anyone see his college transcripts, what is he hiding? Why doesn't anyone remember him? And most importunity why was his Law license taken away?

I come from the perspective that slavery was an abominable institution and would have ended eventually anyway, as it did in ever other western, civilized nation.

Baloney. Under the guise of state rights, the Confederacy seceded and went to war over the notion that they had the God-given right to enslave human beings for economic advantage. The Confederacy went to war to defend its social and economic system in perpetuity, not to have the fruits of their toil - if successful - wither on the vine in a few years. Yours is wishful thinking; you're applying modern sentiments and sensibilities to a 19th century issue.

Keeping in mind that the war was NOT fought to free slaves — and that by forcing “free” men of the South to be slaves to a union — there is NO moral high ground to be claimed...unless you believe there is nobility in freeing black people while enslaving white people.

No rhetorical trick of yours can ever equate the "slavery" of being governed by a federal government to actual "slavery," in which one race of human being is considered chattel by another - actual property - and is denied the basic human rights granted to them by God. Cut out the awkward, self-serving attempts to do so.

God was watching, and you were on the wrong side. The end.

Why Dr. Rice or Scott Walker would allow themselves to be interviewed by this trash station is beyond me.

” - - - When is someone going to ask Obama why - - - “

Obviously you have forgotten the basic tenant of the RINO McCain Method: “NEVER, EVER try to get the advantage over your opponent!”

Lame-Brain McCain was very successful with his McCain Method in 2008, and resulted in no small part to his stellar loss to the arrogant, and incompetent Obama learning how to play the game of golf at the expense of we sheep, the taxpayers.

Will Romney/Ryan be loyal RINOs and also use the vaunted McCain Method?

Obama is hoping so, as joining the pro tour in golf would allow him continued use of the Corporate Jet lifestyle that he has taken full advantage of, also at the expense of we sheep, the taxpayers.

Why do you keep declaring the “end” after making false statements?

I didn’t say anything about WHY the Confederacy seceded. I maintain, as any reasonable thinking person would, that slavery would have ended under its own weight EVENTUALLY...whether the Southern states were part of the union or a confederacy. You have to be a southernphobe to think for a minute that they would continue to exist as the only civilized nation in the western hemisphere to allow slavery. It defies logic. Just as the nation was able to change the Constitution to allow women to vote (just one example), slavery too would have changed, given enough time.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your juvenile and ignorant perspective falls apart when you realize that the Union operated under the belief that there was a “God-given right to enslave human beings for economic advantage” for seven decades before the Confederacy ever existed. And whine all you want, but the truth remains — while you can argue that the war was fought BECAUSE of the slave issue, NO ONE can make the argument that war was declared so as to FREE the slaves. It just did not happen that way.

Get over yourself. Being wrong is one thing, being stupid about it is not a way of life one should choose willingly.

You were the one who posed the question:

Oh, please explain how the “Civil War” was needed.

I answered. Apparently you didn't like the answer, and now you've sunk to calling me stupid.

Awesome.

I'm not one to suffer fools . . . not lightly . . . not at all. Have a good day, sir.

I could give a flying rat’s *** about someone being a Republican. If the Repubs were not (so many of them) either riding the gravy train until the wheels fall off, paid off, blackmailed, leftists themselves, or cowards, we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in.

I care about the Constitution. Rice is a liberal and a racist and she nauseates me.

If Reagan were here today he’d have some very harsh words for a large number of Republicans. They’ve gone around the bend, are more liberal than Democrats used to be a couple of generations ago.

Just been too, too busy...

I lurk when I can.

Put up 16 pints of blackberry “slurry” yesterday. Canning season is always busy. We have no $ so the more free fruit I can, the more we have to eat in the winter. Boxes of apples next.
