I certainly hope and pray this poll is valid. We need to see Claire McCaskill replaced by a truly conservative Republican. We need to get to the “tipping point” where not only does the Senate moved toward Republican control, but there are sufficient conservative Republicans to insure that the Senate leadership becomes truly conservative. We stand an excellent chance of achieving that this November.

In my opinion (IMO), no he didn't make the goal more difficult. Others, however, have done that job admirably.
If you say "no", you've shown you're out of touch with reality.
I've said "no" and, IMO, I've shown that I'm much more in touch with reality than you are.
I don’t disagree that such situations can occur.
HOWEVER, if you TAKE A LOOK AT EUROPE and other places, you will NOTICE that many ethnic groups contains physical traits not normally found in the indigenous populations of whatever are you are scrutinizing. The same applies to other parts of the world. THEN review the history of invasions there and I think you can connect the dots.
There are so many cases of mass births linked to mass rapes linked to mass invasions that a remark by this guy on such a subject is truly amazing - even if the biological implications of what he was saying were not so outrageous.
No doubt physical and emotional trauma resulting from rape can cause spontaneous abortions,but I fail to see that this is the rule or even something someone can rely on to make generalizations like this.
I think permitting abortions in case of statutory rape is as justified as permitting them to save the life of the mother. Forcing a woman to carry to term the product of such a monstrous encounter is inhuman and could lead to serious mental disturbances.
Given its not the fault of the child, and if a woman should voluntarily choose not to abort such a conception, she is much to be credited.
I think we are dealing with very sensitive issues here. Basically I oppose abortions as I beleive life begins at the moment of conception and not only is abortion a form of murder, it also fustrates what God may have planned for that human life and its place in the world and thus is a sin against God Himself.
However, we do live in a free society and some balance must be given to a reluctance to have the State stand between a citizen and their medical decisions. This is one of the reasons we oppose Obamacare.
Its a very troubling issue and I wish there was a simple solution but as it is so complex, there is not.

Uh, yeah. When this first broke I said that all he should do was to quickly get out in front and issue an clarification, and in a week the whole thing dies down.
Well, it quickly got out of control and his numbers tanked. So yeah, I RELUCTANTLY said he should quit.

What you said wasn't a major gaff, but I still think that for the good of the Senate (and the next MAJORITY LEADER - RAND PAUL) you should.

Doesn't matter to me what you think either. But your assertion that the "Akin haters" are depressed that he might win shows how clueless and angry you are when people disagree with you. I think you will be disappointed that the "Akin haters" will be pulling for Akin now (and they will be).
And for the record, we wanted him to drop out because we thought he'd lose (he still may). No one "wanted him to lose because he's a conservative". That's just some little hallucination you came up with. It would be interesting to see you actually challenge someone for the content of their post, rather than some straw-man post you made up. You have a tough time with facts. You obviously haven’t seen the vicious posts of a great man named Akin’s on Free Republic from your type of folks. You wanted him destroyed and were doing everything possible to ensure that happened. Thank God he is smarter than you and your hate Akin’s supporters. I think abortion should be permitted to save the life of the mother, inj cases of rape and to prevent a really montrous birth where the fetus has no chance of survival or survival would result in a painful life.
Otherwise, I would out law aboritons.
My comments were directed in that reference specifically to the above exceptions.
What got America to this situation today is Hugh Hefner and the “Playboy Philosophy”, rejection of Biblical teachings and atheizing our society.
Haven't had a lot of time for the Akin threads, but here and there before work would read through some to see what fellow FReepers were saying or feeling about Akin.
Wasn't good for my blood pressure I guess so I got it out of my system by editing my home page.
Now I sit back and chuckle.
Good on him. I wanted him to step down, but he can show Romney and the MSRNC that the tea party conservatives can put their own guy into office.
You are right about “far too many.” I think much of the reason is that the “far too many” are not paying close attention to the issue.
Maybe the important lesson learned is that those who are paying attention can learn from it and be better prepared to rapidly react in a way that will bring out the facts as quickly as possible. Maybe we can learn to do that in such a way that those who are only marginally watching will more easily be able to see the whole picture and not just the tempest in a teapot that is the triggering event.
(I’m confident you are one of those who can help with this. Obviously a clear thinker.)
