I have NOT watched a convention for donkeys’ years. This one sort of crept up on me...and my curiosity compelled me to watch.

I feel that everyone was articulate, everyone spoke with unfeigned conviction and a natural enthusiasm. How could they do otherwise, with the train wreck “O” has handed us?

Every speaker avoided the kind of strident and doctrinaire approach that would certainly have been an easy mistake to make, given the situation in which this administration has put Conservatives.

Without being gratuitously critical (though, criticism is certainly warranted) all the speakers put the record straight on “O’s” outrageous end-run on the US Constitution, on “O’s” perpetual insults to middle-America, on his formless and inert administration, on his cowardly and indecisive foreign policy agenda, the broken promises and the ruinous bailouts, etc. It was all there!

Especially:

Martinez: “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans!”

Ryan: “…everything is free, except you.”

Rice: Her dramatic emphasis that Americans should NOT demonize success!

Paul: Yes, you did build that!!!

I am glad I tuned it.!

More than anything, it emphases how much work has to be done and how far America has yet to go before the damage is reversed.

“I feel that everyone was articulate, everyone spoke with unfeigned conviction and a natural enthusiasm.”

Except for when Pam Bondi and her sidekick spoke. Too stilted and obviously being read verbatim. Bondi is usually great, and it seemed that the Lt. Gov. might’ve inserted himself at the last minute. Something threw off the natural rhythm.

Otherwise, every speaker was excellent and authentic and exceeded our expectations. When Pawlenty stepped up, we groaned, expecting to fall asleep immediately. He was the most entertaining when it comes to chuckles. Rice... Wow!

McCain’s speech was good, but he still makes me gag. There he stood, whining about the curent administration when it’s HIS FAULT that we have the current administration. Absolutely disgusting.

I’m looking forward to hearing Newt tonight.
