Raleigh, N.C. PPP's newest Iowa poll finds Barack Obama's lead in the state declining all the way to two points. He's at 47% to 45% for Mitt Romney. In July we found Obama ahead 48-43 and in May it was 51-41.
Barack Obamas lead in Iowa has steadily declined in our polling over the last three months, said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. He still has a narrow advantage, but its clear that the state deserves its perceived swing state status.

Really??? R+3 sampling, yet Obama +2 result? Must’ve been some lefty-leaning “independents,” then.
Keep in mind the old maxim - don't listen to what they say, watch what they do. Obama is spending enormous amounts of time and capital trying to hold Iowa's 6 electoral college votes. Why? Because he knows how thin the margins are, and he feels the momentum running in Romney's favor.
These chuckleheads had dismissed the GOP convention, and are shocked to see what trouble they find themselves in.
unfortunately, I don’t think people are always honest when they are polled.
Have to wonder how many times a Democrat is called, and they identify as a Republican.
Rasmussen has it 46% Romney 44% Obama
The other question is who are the 5% who are still unsure? They’re not being asked to rate Grover Cleveland’s presidency, fer crying out loud.
Did you see him looking very much the beauty queen walking out onto the stage at Iowa State (or whatever university) a couple days ago? Everyone here burst out laughing. All he needed was a crown and flowers for that walk.
