Conflicting reports say the dam is leaking, but it has not failed, yet. Residents along the Tangipahoa River in LA/MS have been given 90 minutes to evacuate.

Ironically, this dam had a Major rework due to begin NEXT WEEK, after the holiday, with water levels lowered 10 feet for construction.

Weather Channel reporting water flowing through a cut in the dam, and is expected to get worse. Twitter report saying the dam has already failed.

PER THE WEATHER CHANNEL: 100Ft Breach in Dam

Just looking at a map, this lake may be McComb, MS water supply.

Flooding threat way south into Louisiana.

Like they don’t already have enough water.

Prayers up!

Meanwhile, I suppose the Reuters headline will be:

"Dam dating back to the Bush Administration fails, drowning poor blacks, while Republicans party on!"

If white people drown, the media will show no interest but if even one black person drowns, the media will try to blame Romney.

pdated 12:01 p.m. ET] OK, so a small conflict in reports from officials near the Tangipahoa River.

Despite early reports of an apparent levee failure near Lake Tangipahoa, which is close to the Mississippi-Louisiana state line, Mayor Whitney Rawlings of McComb, Mississippi, says Pike County Civil Defense informed him that “the dam is holding, but they are concerned it may fail,” WWL reports on air.

He further said it’s a coin toss whether it will fail, but, “This might go. People need to be moving now.”

Bear with us as we work out the discrepancy in the reports and work to determine whether the dam has failed or is expected to fail.

“stay tuned”-—what the heck is that? Obamuzzie action non-plan? If there’s any question shouldn’t it read “get the flock out of the flood plain” ?

Just like the folks in the Lower 9th Ward during Katrina, these folks failed to take precautions when they learned of the hurricane.

Yup. “Oh, gee, I think I’ll just ride it out.” Morons. There was a storm six miles from the jobsite today and they shut us down for the day. Mother nature does not forgive stupidity.
