Paul Backers Aided Disruption of Ryanís Speech (Code Pink - Ron Paul alliance)
The New York Times ^ | Thursday, August 30, 2012 | Sarah Wheaton

Posted on 08/30/2012 11:37:36 AM PDT by kristinn

The women’s antiwar group CodePink was behind the disruption of Representative Paul D. Ryan’s speech on Wednesday night, but it was in part a product of the Romney campaign’s continuing dispute with Ron Paul supporters.

“An angry Ron Paul person was like, here, take my pass,” said Laura Mills, the 21-year-old CodePink intern who was escorted out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum after interrupting Mr. Paul’s speech.

Ms. Mills and a more seasoned activist, Ann Wright, were just waiting for Mr. Ryan to say something about health care. When he did, they yelled, “Health care, not warfare” and “My body, my choice.” Ms. Mills unfurled a banner that read, “Vagina: Can’t Say It? Don’t Legislate It,” a reference to an abortion debate in Michigan when a female lawmaker was barred from speaking after referring to women’s genitals.

Didn’t CP endorse Paul last election?
I can’t see his views are different from theirs, so why not be in alliance.

More proof that Paul and his minions are not conservatives and are nothing but a bunch of Occutard liberals who just want hookers and drugs legalized.

They need to go back to the libertarian party or to the Democrat party.

It wasn't much of a disruption, I didn't realize anything out of the ordinary had happened until Fox panned the Camera to some chick being drug out of the center. It didn't even faze Ryan, and at the time it occurred it just seemed to be a natural pause for applause.

This has been brought up before on previous threads. Perhaps by you. It's struck me that it was a CNN camerawoman who was struck. You'd think there would be video available. I'd love to identify those throwers...

We had a Paultard get on our local Quinn and Rose Radio Show on the drive to work this morning.

Just as the Paultard launched into his "Romney is as Bad as Obama" talking point, Quinn pointed out that this is the first time since Goldwater that the GOP has put a return to the gold standard and audit of the Fed into their platform.

It was also the first time I've heard Quinn actually cut-off a loony tunes caller than try to reason with them even briefly.

Funny how these groups tell conservatives to stay out of their (insert place here).

They demand that they want government out of their bedrooms, yet demand for the government to pay for their contraceptives and abortions.

They demand that they want government out of their doctor’s office, yet they demand that the government pay for their healthcare.

Exactly. There was no disruption. Paul Ryan didn’t miss a beat while giving his speech.

I heard chants and some jeers (aimed at the protestor), so while watching Paul Ryan I sensed there was a minor disturbance on the floor. Then the camera panned toward the delgates and I saw someone in pink being hussled out of the building. The pinkos did this in St. Paul four years ago.

RON PAUL SUPPORTER PRIMER:
(credit goes to RaceBannon)

#1. Be Arrogant
#2. Be Condescending
#3. Be self-important
#4. Be self-righteous
#5. Tout your superior intellect to help overcome your lack of self-confidence (see numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 then go straight to #15).
#6. Give slippery rhetorical answers to straight questions
#7. Hide/Ignore or spin Ron Paul’s congressional record of 23 Years in Congress, creating 620 bills of which 4 made it to the floor and only one became law.
#8. When cornered and have no truthful or direct response, spout angry, non-topic rhetoric as an answer, then see #19.
#9. Hide your Democrat voting status from the public & pretend you’re a Republican.
#10. Blame everyone else, never take credit for a problems like Barack Obama because we are closet Ultra-Liberals
#11. Berate and/or belittle your opponent whenever losing an argument, then see #19
#12. Blame America for the world hating the US and act like an Arab Psychiatrist/Pathologist when promoting the 9/11 Jihad conspiracy.
#13. Be courteous and direct others to their local cable or satellite channel that carries reruns of Conspiracy theory with Jesse “You deserve to lose a few” Ventura.
#14. Copy and paste data from whatever unreliable source you can find to try and validate your argument.
#15. Avoid/ignore any or all valid retort or facts that invalidate your agenda at all costs or whenever possible. (Go back to #6)
#16. Create a fictitious Facebook persona to hide your true identity like our Anarchist/OWS cousins.
#17. Make cowardly drive-by hit and run comment and/or “like” a fellow Paulbot’s hit and run comment.
#18. Bait adversaries by commenting/posting irrelevant points and/or points you were making during your last debate with someone totally different on another topic all together without looking like you are arguing with yourself. Try to avoid looking foolish at all costs.
#19. Scurry over to your nearest Ron Paul thread and alert other bots to join you and that you require assistance because you’re losing your delusional Liberal arguments. Then medicate, repeat, put on your drool bib and go back to marching in the paper slipper brigade.
#20. Follow #18 and 19 to the letter, then surround your opponent and take cheap pot-shots from your behind your fictitious Facebook persona (See #9 and #16).
#21. Before debating, avoid getting fecal matter in or behind your ears when removing your head from your rectum. This will be particularly useful when listening to CD’s of “Dr” Paul in your Toyota Prius.
#22. When casting your ballot for “Dr” Paul during online polls, remember to clear your cookies then repeat. Do this as many times as your fingers will allow or until the next episode of Colbert Reports, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, or your Mother calls down to the basement stairs to tell you that “dinner is ready”.

Yeah...my instinct leads me to think gutter tactics would serve to drive Independents/Undecideds to Romney, not away. Plus, might steer some moderate Rats in the right direction. That sort of behavior is still reprehensible in some qtrs. Now Romney will have to maintain his composure and rise above it. I think he can.

Security should be on the lookout for out-of-place hipster-looking cats, and a certain aging one.

I have never figured out why Ron Paul was even accepted as a GOP candidate. He was a libertarian, shared virtually none of the GOP platform from earlier years (not to mention this year’s platform) and has done nothing but disrupt and undermine good candidates. Romney would not be our candidate now without the Ron Paul shenanigans.

What I saw last night was a whole lot of people milling around on the floor during speeches and others sitting there with their arms crosse and a feigned bored expression. It looked to me as though Ron Paulers had stationed themselves at the ends of aisles and other places that would make them more visible. I saw one young woman who was trying very hard not to smile while looking bored and a couple of young men, who looked very gay and very bored.

The GOP should make people sit in their seats during the speeches, or leave the floor.

True Paulers hate social conservatives as much as they hate the inside the Beltway GOP. Their goal is take over the GOP by 2016, by marginalizing both sides of the party. They figure if they destroy both sides and get them fighting with each other, the take over will be complete.

They make it sound like it’s a courageous protest, but acutally all leftist protesters have just one thing in mind: stop other people from speaking with a viewpoint that differs from theirs. Anyone remember the last time conservatives disrupted a Democratic convention? Neither can I. Because it never happens.

Here’s the reality of the situation. If Ron Paul had run on a third Party ticket, or if Mitt somehow ticks the RP’s off, there is a good chance he could kiss 5-10% of his vote and election goodbye.

I wouldn’t be too harsh and critical of the Ron Paulers, unless you want Obama back for another 4 years. Contrary to the wishes of the GOP Party elite, many conservatives have differing views on many things including why we are spending trillions defending other countries all on the USA tax payer dole.

Every country that we defend should be subsidizing our military.
