RNC Ratings Night Two: Networks Lose 17 Million Viewers Compared To Night Two Of 2008 RNC
TV Newser ^ | 8/30/12 | Alex Weprin

Posted on 08/30/2012 1:45:45 PM PDT by jimbo123

On night two of the Republican National Convention, Fox News Channel was once again the network more people went to to get their political fix. That said, every network was down substantially from the same night in 2008, when Sarah Palin made her RNC debut.

“Knew” it was going to flop, or are “desperately hoping” it is going to flop?

My guess is it turns out to be an incredible success.

Yea and that really translated into votes, huh?
People tuned in to out of curiosity because Sarah made such a splash when McCain picked her both good and bad. I think by the time she spoke at the RNC convention it was already known that her trashy teenage daughter was knocked up out of marriage. It was just as much a side show attraction as anything else.
Oh btw, Ryan is just as conservative as Palin, so your attack about people tuning out a RINO makes no sense.

Dems are afraid to watch anything like this... it hurts their little brains to have to think. Instead, they just go to Huffington Post to get their talking points of the day.

Most of my friends and family are Republicans or Republican-sympathetic. Few of them had any idea there was a convention on, and none had any interest in watching it. They all hate Obama, but I can’t get a kind word for Romney out of any of ‘em.

There is a clear enthusiasm issue here with the “base”. I can see a lot of GOP folks just not bothering to turn out if there’s anything else going on election day. I know I’ll only be showing up to vote in my congressional and local races.

If they had them do sketches and song and dance routines I might actually watch.

CSPAN is king!!! None of the spin and babbling of the Obamabot networks and even FNC. Have only viewed the RNC on CSPAN this time!!! If I was an executive at the amjor networks, I’d fire at least fifty percent of the staff. They are useless!!!

Rush Limbaugh: I’m ‘literally going insane’

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2924253/posts

Rush Limbaugh slammed Karl Rove on Wednesday and said he was “literally going insane” over GOP strategists’ advice that the party not attack President Barack Obama during their convention.

“Do you want to talk about the overall tone of the convention?” Limbaugh facetiously asked his radio show audience. “Do you want me to say, ‘My gosh, what a bunch of wimps. Don’t even have the guts to mention Obama’s name. Christie didn’t have the guts to mention his name?’

Do you want me to tell you how this bunch seems to be afraid to be critical of a party that’s destroying the country? Or do you agree with the party, ‘No, we don’t need to mention that because everybody already knows it and we’re trying to attract swing voters, and they don’t want to hear that stuff?’”

I watched Ryan on C-SPAN and Governor Martinez on The Blaze...I don’t need a bunch of repugnant pundits interpreting what I just watched for me...

There is no way to positively spin the RINO-induced loss of 17 million viewers.

Dude, who watches network TV anymore? There's this thing called the "Internets" that's much more entertaining. Look into it.

Did you listen to Rush today?

He was talking about how much he thoroughly enjoyed the convention last night.

It was awesome.

Sorry you missed or were too angry to enjoy it.

Wasn’t Sara on night three in 2008? Does networks include cable?

It’s sad to see the RINO apologists trying to spin a 50% loss of viewers as no-big-deal. Mitch McConnell would be proud.

No I think more switched to CSPAN from the networks so that did not have to listen to MSM bots and avoid the commercials.

I know we do. We've got C-Span on starting at 6:30 and don't switch until the Convention ends for the night.

That’s where a majority of viewers are tuning in. Nearly everyone I know who is watching it is tuning into CSPAN. They are disgusted with the MSM.

Good afternoon.

Do the ratings include C-Span? Most of the people (including the First lady and me) we know watched it on C-Span. The First lady stated she didn't want to listen to the screaming heads.

5.56mm
