Tsunami headed for Hawaii as the DNC kicks off.

Tsunami watch/warning for Hawaii canceled.

7.6 really isn't big enough to generate a long-range tsunami.

Here’s an initial AP report:
MANILA, Philippines (AP) - A 7.6-magnitude undersea quake struck off the eastern coast of the Philippines late Friday, triggering tsunami warnings across the region. At least one house collapsed and power was knocked out in several Philippine cities, local radio reported.

“I don’t think the amount of sun hitting the moon changes its mass enough to make any difference in its gravitational pull.”

It’s not sunlight. It’s the moon being in-line with the sun which makes full and new moon high tides higher.

One of the greatest and largest Naval Battles ever including WWII was fought there not to far from where that earthquake struck.

The Battle of Leyte Gulf and the Battle of Samar.

Full moon tonight; gravitational pull of the sun and moon is maximized which affects tides but also stresses land masses.

The problem is the 27 out of 28 times that a large quake happens on a date other than a full moon, nobody says "hey, this didn't happen on a full moon."

The idea that there's something special about a full rather than a new moon is rather silly, though there's no evidence that the moon phase has anything to do with the dates of large earthquakes (there are some DAILY tidal influences on small quakes.)

Of course this is all based on Berkeland's worthless vague predictions which exert a hypnotic spell over idiots.

Yeah I've walked through that hallowed ground many times. The US “only” lost about 14,000 the Japanese 50-100k. The Japanese bunkers are still there, the natives think the area is haunted and usually wont go with me..
