That Chair Was Racist (Clint's empty chair was meant to make a black man inconsequential /s)
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2012 | William L. Gensert

Posted on 08/31/2012 6:46:59 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Who does Clint Eastwood think he is? Having an empty chair next to him on stage while he pretended to talk to a non-existent Barack Obama supposedly sitting in that chair was racism. It was intended to make our President seem small, inconsequential, like a black man who doesn't count -- or counts at most as 3/5 of a person.

Was the empty chair a metaphor for Barack Obama as an empty suit, or an emperor with no clothes? This is clearly code for society's assumption that a black man cannot be taken seriously and is not up to the job.

Towering above the empty chair Eastwood talked down to an imaginary Barack Obama. A black man does not need to be talked down to by a white man, especially a white man who is famous for playing characters always armed and dangerous.

And where does he get off mentioning the President's record of failure? Barack Obama doesn't need a record of success. He is Barack Obama, and that should be enough.

Wait...I'm sure some pundits on the left will make all the arguments above, and maybe throw in the fact that when he called for Obama's firing and drew his hand across his neck it was a coded message for the President's lynching.

To my mind, the RNC, Romney, Convention manager, et al missed an opportunity that would bite to the heart of the problem with the Orator Obama - instead of an empty chair, Clint should have been addressing a TOTUS next to his podium emblazoned with the Presidential SEAL...

Frankly, Clint, (and with all due respect)if you are going to steal/satirize/re-contexturalize, you could have done better than ‘Roger and Me’. Sort of like doing a cover of a Shaggs tune instead of a Beatles one.

Obama flipped off Hillary

Obama flipped off McCain

Proof of these events is easy to find, on line. Obama is a classless jerk.

It was entirely appropriate for someone to point out the foul, juvenile personality of Obama, as Clint Eastwood did.

counts at most as 3/5 of a person

Dumbest canard ever. The whole freaking point of the 3/5 rule was to limit the power of the slave states by reducing how much they could pad their population count with slaves. It made no distinction as the the relative worth of the individual, it was intended to prevent the slave states from running roughshod over the free states in the House of Representatives.

I watch the whole convention on CSPAn, but after it was over I did a quick survey of MSNBC, and Cnn.

Wow, what, small, nasty people especially Maddow. She really sounded like an idiot as she couldn’t hide her hate and made no attempt to step out of the little cage she’s in and see things from any other point of view.

Cnn was almost as bad. I was wondering if we were watching the same convention.

They all hated Clint Eastwood’s sketch. Well, it must have it its mark to have so many people griping.

The Greatest Piece of Performance Art in American Political History

Ed Timperlake

Americans have a firm appreciation for sports metaphors. So if one looks at our political process to select the President as the “Super Bowl” then it could be implied that the two conventions are the first and second quarters respectively.

The second half, with both conventions gaveled to a close, will show how each competing team R and D adjusts to address what plays happened in the first half. The Republican’s just had a spectacular first quarter, in my opinion, their best Convention ever, and it is soon time for the Ds to run their game plan.

However, something uniquely American happened during the Republican convention — a new, never seen before play was run. An iconic and extremely successful artist created an original, entirely unique moments in our political history. Clint Eastwood gave one of the greatest pieces of performance art ever seen.

Clint Eastwood knew exactly what he was doing — as both an actor AND director he knows full well how to deliver a message that resonates. As a simple, practical matter his speech will be discussed for a very very long time and that will bring positive focus back to a very successful GOP convention again and again.

But Clint’s true artistic genius was provoking the ready, fire, aim, liberal Obama Administration supporters, and was reflective of how the “take him down at all costs” pack journalism thinks. It was pathetic when they focused on his age as their attack line. So go ahead you fools insult the elderly, use getting old as a weapon to discredit an extremely powerful message done with fantastic humor. That will turn out to be very, very stupid media attack line in the run up to the election. Not to mention, how off the mark it is because Clint Eastwood was out-thinking everyone and was intellectually miles ahead of all of you.

It gets better. In this age of ubiquitous social media — especially YouTube — every observation and attack segment that Clint Eastwood articulated will be proliferated nationwide by his countless fans. His performance was, at times, filled with nuance and droll asides, but always combined with the underlying principle a direct no BS statement of what it means to be an American citizen.
Going into their Convention and the second half there is nothing the Obama Administration can do about it. As a successful actor and director Clint Eastwood knows how to make a point and he made a politically historic point using his artistic gifts.

Finally, President Obama and his wife claimed to not be watching the RNC—actually their best PR strategy. Yet, according to the New York Post, the President of the United States just engaged against a surrogate.

Our current President AKA “Mr Cool” was provoked enough to blow-up his own strategy and make his original position a lie. Not a bad nights performance all around Mr Eastwood!!

Lieberals have developed an obsessive-compulsive paranoia disorder regarding so-called projected racism upon their opponents. They accuse the innocent of the deeds perhaps what deep inside they are guilty of themselves. The old race card is just not performing its magic like it used to but leftists have trouble quitting their feel-good addictions hence their insanity is showing up BIGTIME.

They’re not paranoid about it at all. They scream and yell racism at every turn because they believe they can get conservatives to back down, apologize, or run from it. They know what they are doing and saying and keep doing this because the GOP has long been a bunch of wimpering twits when lies are thrown at them. Screw them.

Campaign speeches:

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

"He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky. That's essentially the argument they're making."

There was only ONE person injecting "race" in the 08 campaign: Barack, Barry, Hussein, Soetoro, Obama.

And if you think it was bad (his handlers and media protecting Dear Reader from criticism by yelling "Racist")in 08, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Amazing how touchy the lefties are becoming. This line from Romney's speech pushed Special Ed a little closer to the edge. Called it a punch below the belt. They are really, really worried about the birth certificate issue. They are seeing references to it when none exist...

At first I was REALLY upset to read this in The American Thinker--until I actually READ the article.

It captures the mostly white male LSM mentality PERFECTLY, and shows it for what it is: the phony outrage of fools who "strut their hour upon a stage full of sound and fury--signifying NOTHING!"

Unfortunately, these fool's stage is national! But, then, so was Eastwood's, and the empty chair.

I so thank God for that thought, because it gives me Comfort.

And I also ask God to give the people of this nation who know it is STILL "under God" the courage and wisdom to pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, so that He can place a man in that chair who will trust in Him, and Him alone, to "heal" our land!

So, 'chair' is now racist.

We need a running list of things that are now racist or express racism, so we can keep track. There have been so many new ones recently, and undoubtedly, more new ones will be added in the coming weeks.

Maybe, like the Daily Morning Talkingpoints Memo, we can get a Daily Morning List of New Racist Words and Racism Expressions Memo. Or, we could just be referred to all of the words in the current Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
