Limbaugh: Clint Got Under Obama's Skin
washingtontimes.com ^ | August 31, 2012 | Stephen Dinan

Hollywood may be bashing Clint Eastwood's performance at the GOP convention, but Rush Limbaugh said Friday the reason is that he touched a nerve with leftist celebrities — and with the president himself.

Pointing to the photo the Obama camp tweeted after midnight showing the back of the president's head above the office chair in the Oval Office, Mr. Limbaugh said that proves the White House was worried. And he wondered whether it was Mr. Obama himself.

"It must have gotten to him because he tweeted at 12:30," Mr. Limbaugh said Friday on his radio program.

The phto of the prexy was not in the Oval Office. It looked like the Cabinet Room.

Geesh.

Remember, Mr. Obama is as thin skinned as they get. Too bad.

That painting should be retitled, “Portrait of Obama.”

Getting under his skin has to be a top goal of this campaign.
Irritate him, needle him, provoke him into ill-tempered meltdowns. Puncture that bubble of likeability.

100 TV commercials by experts and a dozen DC political consultants cannot do what Clint’s performance did to the campaign!

It pointed to me the lameness and banality of our political world.

Kind of blows a hole in that Carney’s story about “The President is not watching the Republican convention”.

To paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill,

"An empty limousine pulled up in front of the White House, and Barack 0bama got out."

It pointed to the emptiness of this administration. I kind of like the idea promoted in this thread. I'd like to see a whole series of videos develop of people talking to an empty chair (Obama), giving vent to their disgust at where he's taken this country. I'd like to see commercials made doing the same. They don't have to be as blunt as Eastwood's performance, but they can still be very effective.

“”This seat is taken.”

Just an incredibly lame response from the President of the United States to make. Amazing.
I didn't think Clints thing was even that good. But it bothered Obama, and he responded like a guilty 8 year old.

"This seat is taken."

I believe Eastwood's response to that was built into his speech already.

To paraphrase "We own that seat!"

I think you’ve accurately stated a necessary component of the strategery. That IMO was the true functionality of Clint’s speech.

I’m in agreement. Clint made some pretty good hits but it was not all that wonderful as far as entertainment consumption goes. However, it did get under the obastard gang’s skin. The whole affair got deeply under their skin.

The response by the obastard gang? A President of the United States tweeting in response? You gotta be kidding me. Just about a childish as you can become. Expected and typical.

I hope to see the barbs to be driven deeper, twisted and broken off at the hilt if it gets to them like this.

Glad to see that Mitt is getting under all their skin. The fact that Clint Eastwood baffled the media so much that their heads are exploding today means that the message is right on the mark. Mitt is going to Louisiana and now the TOTUS is playing catchup.
