DALLAS ― After the Republican National Convention, Rep. Ron Paul’s family and aides were allegedly detained and interrogated in Clearwater, Florida yesterday. Paul’s family and aides attempted to depart for Texas when eight Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents refused to allow their passage. According to Lew Rockwell, Paul's former chief of staff, agents first questioned the pilot’s credentials, then insisted the passengers and plane be searched for explosives. TSA agents did not cite any specific threat, but insinuated the Paul family was a threat to Mitt Romney, claiming the nominee “might be nearby.” The pilot reminded

I’m no fan of the TSA, but when they encounter people as crazy as the Ron Paul gang I can see where they might want to be extra careful. The old coot is stark raving mad, and since he’s lost what’s probably his last election, he should be viewed as a loose canon.

I agree. This is not the first post on FR on this story. I doubt this story... Not that I like TSA.. probably a Paul supporter with an AX to grind on the TSA and Romney...not that I am a Romney fan....

This is the second or thrid time Paul family has had a run in with the TSA?
Ron Paul supporters tend to be foul mouthed, disruptive and dishonest kooks.
However?
Though I doubt this story, if it is true -— a few people at TSA should be fired!
He was boarding a private plane. They had no business messing with him.
I mean, its not like he was some kind of Vietnamese grandmother.
Still, I feel safer knowing that Ron Paul would not be able to hijack his own plane.
The TSA should be ended along with the open borders insanity of letting in the enemy aliens who created the need to have such a thug force.
Under the ruse of protecting transportation, we have ended up with a roving federal police force - typically made up of AINO's (Americans in Name Only) - that violates American rights at every step of the way.
And now they terrorize the family of a legitimate Presidential candidate, the mother of a United States Senator??!

Regardless of your opinion of Ron Paul, this should be alarming. The TSA is being used to harass and defame a sitting member of Congress and Presidential candidate. Combine that with the convention delegate shenanigans and it’s clear that we are closer to big problems than it might seem, on both sides of the aisle. A high profile consultant “joking” in a very public way about murdering a Senatorial candidate of his own party ... It’s very weird. Take thereins of power away from these people, they’ve gone completely ‘roumd the bend.
I would take it seriously whether or not you are a Ron Paul fan. Recently it was “swatting” and now it will be “TSAing” people as a political attack. Be wary of what you condone for others as you may be the “other” later.

Hitler didn’t seize power, the German people gave it to him because he was only targeting bad people like communists......and greedy bankers...and Jews...and anyone else who stepped out of line. It all started with little annoying incidents like this.
Mitt Romney is no Hitler and had nothing to do with this incident but the people telegraphing that this is OK may soon find themselves on the receiving end.

Agreed. But really, these are a long way from mainstream...and if it really happened that way, I would expect there to be a mention of it to put a couple more slugs into him from the press, somehow blame him for it. Remember, his other run-ins were pretty well publicized.
