Romney's narrative for next 9 weeks aimed at women
Houston Chronicle ^ | August 31, 2012 | Kilday Hart

Like tightly structured novels, political conventions introduce no random characters or irrelevant passages.

So when former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez were chosen for prime slots on the night of vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan's national debut, the Romney campaign was intentionally advancing a narrative it will emphasize over the next nine weeks:

Women like Mitt Romney. And the endorsement of impressive leaders like Rice and Martinez - not to mention his appealing wife, Ann - suggests that female voters should believe the Romney-Ryan ticket will best serve their interests.

It may be a pivotal theme of the election.

The Democratic charge that Republicans are waging a "war on women" could be contributing to a significant gender gap afflicting the Republican ticket.

According to the most recent Gallup poll, Obama is leading Romney by a margin of 50 to 42 percent with women voters. Meanwhile, Romney leads Obama with men by a margin of 51 to 41 percent.

The good news for Democrats? Women turn out in higher numbers at election time than men. In 2008, women comprised 54 percent of the electorate,...

"Romney will have a very difficult time winning unless he can turn those numbers around," [Mark P.]Jones says.

.... Romney unabashedly wooed women: "When my mom ran for the Senate, my dad was there for her every step of the way. I can still hear her saying in her beautiful voice, 'Why should women have any less say than men, about the great decisions facing our nation?' "

He wished, he said, she could have heard the convention's speeches by Rice, Martinez and other female luminaries.

And he reminded the audience that he "chose a woman lieutenant governor, a woman chief of staff," and filled many other high-level positions with women."....

The left IS in meltdown.

Here, you were willing to risk having this underlying theme attacked and called pandering. There are comments I’ve read before here that women should not be able to vote and calling them demeaning names. Then they’ll say things like, “ducking for cover”, or “flame away”.

My view: Romney needs to get the truth out. The truth is he’s for success for all Americans and that surely includes women. His record is one of respect for women and giving them great opportunities. Note the women he touts are ladies, not just women, and they demonstrate class as well as accomplishment.

Therefore he’s NOT pandering to the wild-eyed radicals or the haters or the chip-on-the-shoulder types. That would be useless and wrong and he knows better.

To show normal women that he has a record just the opposite from what the lying Left claims with their “GOP war on women”, is a good thing.

The truth will set everyone free.

Someone here, please give an answer? How has Romney
changed? You only have his word he is pro-life now?

Mitt is still proclaiming yes to killing a baby girl
and baby boy in the womb conceived by rape or incest.

Rush sees...not Romney...she/he is still a baby~!

And how blinded, men, a third reason, professing Catholic Ryan and conning Romney proclaim they baby goes, kill it, if the mother’s life is threatened. I do not know of any mother who would agree to such an evil.

a significant gender gap

Why is "gender gap" code for "Women prefer the Democrat?"

In 2000, W had the "gender gap," not Al Gore while Gore won women by the same proportion men went for Bush.

Obama's well down with men but doesn't have a "gender gap," why?

True about his mother.

I think this election is so pivotal, every vote that is gained by correcting lies with truth is critical especially in swing states.

Therefore he needs every possible vote from people who are FAMILY oriented. Who rally around the ideal of strong marriages, loved and well-raised children being the bedrock of America. This truth includes strong and accomplished women, whether they choose to be mainly wives, mothers and grandmothers, or work and career, or all of the above.

The other types are lost to him anyway. They would be Obama voters.

His concern seems to be those who aren’t inclined to vote for Obama again, but who are hearing lies that make them hesitant to vote for him instead. In other words, not to vote at all.

Understandable concern.

Making abortion totally illegal in all cases is a view shared by at best 20% of the population, probably less. You’re seriously going to complain about Mitt’s position now vs. the party of abortion at any time in the womb/abortion out of the womb/abortion on demand/abortion on the floor of the DNC convention if they could get away with it?

Romney is pro-abortion. He has been pro-abortion all his life, pro-life (and then still pays for abortions in RomneyCare afterwards) and claims a pro-life record for running for Potus. And then, a few days ago, he declared he was in favor for legalized abortions for the “health and life of the mother,” including rape and incest. “Health,” according to the courts, refers to such disparate things as mental to emotional problems.

That’s why Obama and the Democrats essentially give the same answer. Obama himself claimed his vote against the partial birth abortion ban was due to no exemptions being added “for the health of the mother,” which, again, is defined by SCOTUS as having a vague and easy threshold to cross.

So, yes, I believe Romney is pro-abortion. He’s made it very clear. His “strong” mother, as someone else said, was also pro-abortion and he claimed that SHE instilled in him a strong pro-abortion stance. He has defended his church leaders on abortion, saying leaders in his own church are “pro-choice” and that it does not disagree with Mormon teaching (except if you’re a Mormon).

That said, if Mittens really is going to push the woman narrative, he’s probably going to keep declaring how he is “pro-life” but is in favor of keeping abortion the law of the land. Just like the Democrats.

“I have met thousands and thousands of pro-choice men and women. I have never met anyone who is pro-abortion.”

~ Hillary Clinton

Welcome to Europe! It’s Hillary vs Obama!

Talk about answering an assertion I never made.

The truth about a particular fact, that of his giving respect and opportunity to women, which is opposite to the left’s lies that he hates women and is warring against them, is all I spoke of.

Hi,

You used the correct term.

Romney has no record of being for life. He is a con in hopes he can be elected. Time and time again Mitt has gone against God. He still is, promoting sodomy and all the exceptions to abortion.

Mitt rejects who Our Lord is, God, Second person of the Blessed Trinity. How is he going to guide our country without the grace of God to help him?

It would be wonderful if the “election miracle” is
Romney’s conversion. Right now, I cannot vote for either pro-abortion Presidential candidate. Cooperation is a mortal sin. They have both piled up so much evil in their decisions in elected office, there is no lessor of two evils this time.

The only way for the political parties to entice most women voters is to promise to hike government spending and taxes much more. But I’ll look on the bright side. The bipartisan policy on feminism will more quickly get us to the bond collapse, repudiation of debt and currency adjustment for much smaller government ahead. No valuable currency or revenues from big, unregulated manufacturing by freeing evil “males,” no money for a big, socialist beast.

So what’s the “progressive” political/regulator class going to do next? Violate more freedoms? Perpetrate more threats? More regulations, perhaps?

How Dramatically Did Women's Suffrage Change the Size and Scope of Government?

JOHN R. LOTT Jr.
American Enterprise Institute (AEI) (download links for whole document at bottom of page)

September 1998

University of Chicago Law School, John M. Olin Law & Economics Working Paper No. 60
Journal of Political Economy, Vol. 107, Number 6, Part 1, pp. 1163-1198, December 1999

Abstract:
This paper examines the growth of government during this century as a result of giving women the right to vote. Using cross-sectional time-series data for 1870 to 1940, we examine state government expenditures and revenue as well as voting by U.S. House and Senate state delegations and the passage of a wide range of different state laws. Suffrage coincided with immediate increases in state government expenditures and revenue and more liberal voting patterns for federal representatives, and these effects continued growing over time as more women took advantage of the franchise. Contrary to many recent suggestions, the gender gap is not something that has arisen since the 1970s, and it helps explain why American government started growing when it did.

I’m very anti-abortion, extremely pro-life all across the board.

On this issue, between the two candidates, it’s a no-brainer for me: Romney.

But this election is about even more than this issue, even more than any social issue. This really isn’t a social issue election it’s America versus collectivism and government tyranny.

And, again, my choice is a no-brainer. I’ll join with anyone in the mission to remove this regime. Anyone, no matter what their position on any single issue - so long as they are in this to remove power from the collectivist/progressive/marxist ‘democrats.’

That’s impossible, because if it is “this issue,” then they are the same on “this issue.” There is no way to pick a favorite on “this issue” when they both are the same!

Now, if you mean on overall issues, that makes more sense. Overall, they’re both confirmed to be liars who hide their own REAL positions, of which abortion was just one plain example.

I cannot vote for someone who is so utterly immoral and depraved that they lie so constantly on just about every issue, even finding ways to lie to an entire bloc (conservatives) only to stab them in the back AFTER the primaries finish and he has the nomination in the bag.

This is actually good news. A vast majority of men already vote republican. In 2008 59% of white men voted for McCain and 56% of white women voted for McCain. If he can pick up as little as 3% more of white woman, it is almost impossible for him to win.

Is there any doubt that O’Bumbler is vulnerable at losing even more than 59% of White men or at least as many white women. The Democrats have written off white America. They are 72% of the population with the most education and the most likelihood to vote. They do so at their peril.

Right-to-Life Movement Focused on Defeating Barack Obama in November WASHINGTON – Determined to secure a pro-life victory in the November election, which will decide the fate of unborn children for decades to come, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, today endorsed Mitt Romney for President of the United States. “On pro-life issues, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama provide a stark contrast. As the country's most pro-abortion president, Barack Obama has pursued a radical pro-abortion agenda,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “It is now time for pro-life Americans to unite behind Mitt Romney. For the sake of unborn children, the disabled, and the elderly, we must win.” Mitt Romney has taken a strong pro-life position and is committed to implementing policies to protect the unborn, the medically dependent and disabled, and the elderly. Romney opposes abortion and has called the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision, "a big mistake." Romney has expressed his support of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortion. Romney has also stated he believes the Obama health care law should be repealed. The Obama health care law would open the door to federal subsidies for abortion coverage and rationing of lifesaving medical care. He has also stated that, if elected, he would reinstate the Mexico City Policy, which prevents federal dollars from going to organizations that perform or promote abortion overseas. In comparison, since taking office in January 2009, President Obama has been an outspoken advocate for abortion and has unceasingly worked to expand funding of and access to abortion. He rescinded the Mexico City Policy, threatened to veto the entire federal spending bill – forcing a government shutdown – rather than accept a provision cutting funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider. Obama also threatened to veto the Protect Life Act, which would repeal the abortion-expanding provisions of his health care law, and the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which would permanently prohibit any federal program from funding elective abortions. Additionally, President Obama championed the so-called Affordable Care Act while opposing pro-life amendments in the Senate. As enacted, the law will result in federal funding of health plans that pay for elective abortion, and will lead to large-scale rationing of lifesaving medical treatments. “We are extremely gratified that every candidate who has run for the Republican nomination for president took a pro-life position and kept the life issues at the forefront of the race,” Tobias added. “We look forward to Mitt Romney's election as our next pro-life president on November 6th.” Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.

“The Democrats have written off white America.”

Obama did for almost four years, but now he is trying to peel off enough white women to cross the finish line. “White America” has fallen so far in the last four years (if they were “privileged” before, they have surely fallen further than their black/Hispanic counterparts), I don’t see Obama winning over many whites of either gender. The lib white women who initially supported Hillary will probably line up behind Romney just to try to get back a piece of their own economic security lost since the Kenyan Pirate was elected.

Everyone should read about Lenore Romney — note: She was a traditionalist and decried “The Women’s Liberation Movement” though she was an ardent supporter and promoter of women in business and politics. She also had numerous health problems and difficult pregnancies.

.....Therefore he needs every possible vote from people who are FAMILY oriented. Who rally around the ideal of strong marriages, loved and well-raised children being the bedrock of America. This truth includes strong and accomplished women, whether they choose to be mainly wives, mothers and grandmothers, or work and career, or all of the above....

Obama and the Left continue to divide women. They must divide us and pit us against each other in order to have a chance.

Knowledge is our friend. All the information helps to present a full picture. Have you read the entire Lenore Romney bio?

A “full picture”, there is never a reason for supporting killing the most innocent, a child in it’s mother’s womb.

Why do you not comment on Romney’s words in the video about
his own mother?

Why do people think there is no accounting before God for any sin now? And even the worst is accepted, abortion. Look at the list in the message, our nation is guilty of everything on it~! Do not reject prophecy, believe.

Light of Mary is a seer from Brazil

August 19th, 2012

“A darkness never before seen by man is approaching.”

(Our Lord Jesus Christ) Beloved children:

DO NOT TURN AWAY FROM MY GRACE OR SPOIL MY WORD.

I carried a heavy Cross for humanity, and this very humanity has returned it to Me imposing on itself its own painful, purifying cross built out of free will.

THESE INSTANTS ARE OF GREAT CONTROVERSY, OF TRIALS AND SPIRITUAL CONFUSION. DO NOT FORGET THAT I AM PERFECT BUT MEN ARE NOT PERFECT.

FAITH MUST BE GROUNDED IN ME, not in men, so that this faith may be firm and you can bear the coming trials.

What is coming has been wrought with human hands. Man, rebelling for years against My Orders and giving himself over to worldly affections, did not heed his conscience or heart that calls him to stop.

My People must become stronger, since within it are lukewarm people. Desiring what is of the world leads you to ignore My Petitions.

IN THIS INSTANT I NEED HEROES, HEROES THAT LOVE ME MORE THAN WHAT THE WORLD PRESENTS TO THEM, MORE THAN THEIR OWN INTERESTS, MORE THAN THE GOALS THEY HAVE IMPOSED ON FOR THEMSELVES.

Human anxieties are vain… Let the heart of those whom I have called to work for My Kingdom not be saddened for not being understood. My Love permeates everything, it covers everything and fills everything to which you can aspire. Your paths are not those that you impose upon yourselves, rather they are those that My Will has drawn to reach true happiness, do not refuse it.

Pray for England, it will hurt.
Pray for Japan, it will suffer.
Pray for the United States, it will suffer.

CHILDREN, WALK WITHOUT FEAR TRUSTING IN ME AND DO NOT GO ASTRAY IN THESE DECISIVE INSTANTS.

A darkness never before seen by man is approaching, instant to instant containing within it:

The folly of the denial of My Divine Love,
The indifference to the Gift of Life,
The torture of innocents,
Disobedience of My Word and of My Mother’s Calls,
The nefarious creation of atomic energy and its derivatives,
The slander of the cinema and television,
The arrogance of man who limits Me
The lack of love of those who are Mine towards My Mother,
The adhesion to the father of lies and
The deceitfulness of the industries that contaminate the human body offering altered products for consumption.

The death of nature does not go unnoticed; nature has wept before man who has destroyed it. What man has left in space will fall upon the Earth. The contaminated waters will rush upon the earth.

Man will be purified by his own hands…

THEN I WILL COME WITH MY PEACE TO THE ENCOUNTER WITH ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED IN MY NAME AND THEY WILL ENJOY LIVING IN MY COMPANY OF ME.

Beloved do not fear. I AM WHO AM…, AND YOU, MY PEOPLE WHOM I LOVE.

I bless you with My Peace.

Your Jesus

HAIL MARY MOST PURE, CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN.
HAIL MARY MOST PURE, CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN.
HAIL MARY MOST PURE, CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN.

Amazing, what came raining down on you for having written, “he was raised by a strong and accomplished mother”.

And that was in reply to my comment that he touts women who are also ladies, not just women, who have demonstrated class as well as accomplishment.

Then all you-know-what broke loose.

Is there a word of untruth in what we wrote? Is there anything WRONG with mentioning those two truths?

No and no.

DUH!

Our comments are countering the Left’s Lies not only about Romney’s record re: women, but the record of the GOP and Conservatives generally.

The Left’s lies are designed to trap Americans into the very chains Joe Biden lyingly mentioned, by re-electing Obama, and Harry Reid’s Senate.

The same Left that says Romney and the rest are warring against women is the same one telling blacks that “they want to put you back in chains”.

But how dare we post a couple of truthful comments regarding the record re: women, to counter them.
