I’ve LOVED Clint ever since the late 70s. Period! I loved everything he had to say last night, but can we please admit the speech sucked?
Thank you Clint !!!!
Eastwood is getting a bit long in the tooth.
It appears hard for him to talk, too bad, gets gets us all.
The speech was fine

For the first time in four years, an American icon has finally done what nobody has dared to do — ridicule Obama. The naysayers are completely missing the significance of this.
Hey ..I love it and lots of Dems are plenty O#%^&# off. That means it was fantastic. He did a great job of using James Stewarts role in “Wonderful Life” to make his point. I am sure you all are familiar with that classic. It was genius.
at 82, and winging it...it was OK
Freeped it! Do I get a prize now?
Exactly. Kudos to him.
Dreams of My Father's empty chair. Obama’s new book.
Yeah, he did better at 82 than 90% of people, probably, but still...
What’s your fave CE movie?
I’m always torn: High Plains Drifter, Outlaw JW, GBU, Pale Rider, Kelly’s Heroes?
I thought it was one of the funniest political speeches I've ever seen.
I didn’t care for Mr. Eastwood’s monologue, but I can see how others would.
I really liked it.

I was listening from the next room as Eastwood began his speech and it didn’t SOUND really good. Then I went to SEE it, and the visual of the empty chair and teleprompter, with the ‘interview’ was actually a bit of genius.
AND, most important, everyone is talking about it today. Like it or not, the message sure got across. Between youtube and other ‘social media’ probably 20x as many people have now seen the Eastwood speech as actually watched the convention last night. That constitutes a very effective speech.
This looks good from the get go but we must remain ever vigilant.
Hammer time!

NO. And it wasn’t a speech. That’s your problem right there.

And yes, I not only liked it, I loved it! Clint was masterful...he took the convention planners by surprise, and watching backstage, Mitt was laughing. On the other hand, the Dims are not happy campers today about that masterful bit of jabbing Clint did to Barry Soreloserman.

It’s one of those things that at the moment, you think, what the heck is this. But afterwards, as you think about his performance, it grows on you. You realize it wasn’t a speech, but a didactic theatrical piece. It was not like anything that has been done before at a convetion, and it was effective for making a point, in the inimicable style of Eastwood.

I had to wait about a minute for it to load, but it comes up on the right hand side.

It is worth another view or two!
To me, this was not a speech at all. It was a man on the stage, who had the attentention of those in attendance. Love Mr. Eastwood, always have. If I Thought this was a speech I would be disappointed, however, I feel it was a man who was invited to speak at the RNC, which is exactly what he did.
