"Talk to the chair!"

President Obamas spokesman derided Clint Eastwood for his remarks at the Republican National Convention, in which Eastwood made a series of jokes at the presidents expense by pretending to conduct an interview with Obama while only talking to an empty chair.
I wasnt quite sure what I was watching, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said yesterday of Eastwoods performance. He prefaced that dismissal by saying, Im a huge fan and admirer of Clint Eastwoods work, both as a director and an actor.
Eastwood made several jokes at Obamas expense and that of Vice President Joe Biden (whom he called a grin with a body behind it) during a skit that ended with a statement explaining why he thinks the president whom Eastwood was excited to see inaugurated in 2008 should lose his reelection bid.

I imagine Eric the Holder is going to sue Arizona because of Clint’s speech.
I say the same about you, Jay, every time your face comes on the TV. It's like watching old Super Circus video. You never know what spin will show up next...
Keep talking and more people who haven’t seen it will.
We have multiple hits below the waterline. The vessel is sinking. Down periscope.
Carney said:
I wasnt quite sure what I was watching,
I am sure he DID not know what he was watching since he has been brainwashed....
Hey Jay, would you like some cheese with that whine?
He pissed off all the right people. I think we need to see this again in 30 second spots.
I thought Carney said that they didn’t watch the convention and that Barry and his boys just sat around charging their iPods while the convention was on.
Same with Carney.
The Dem "talking heads" and surrogates just can't bring themselves to acknowledge that the entire world "got" Eastwood's message loud and clear--and they have nowhere to hide.
Agree, too, with Applegateranch's comments on another thread about the genius of Eastwood's use of his object's own "egregious speech pattern," commonly referred to by pseudointellectual "progressives" as a sign of Obama's great intellect and deliberative style. Now, Eastwood's use of it, with "progressives" (an entire set of "empty chairs" when it comes to understanding and defending the ideas of freedom), such a "deliberate" and halting style denotes everything from senility to "doddering fool."
Another gem was his use of a former President's assessment of Romney's "stellar business performance" in this total unmasking of the great destroyer of business in America.
From Geraldo Rivera on FOX to Gloria Borger on CNN, the faux criticism and claims that Eastwood distracted from the Romney speech and Borger's claim that parts were "crass" are laughable when compared with much of the Dem performer language and inferences.
This was a priceless and iconic performance which will live on, long after Eastwood is gone, and Obama is a distant memory in the rearview mirror of presidents.
Imagine....never having to see Jay Carney, the pasty-faced weenie, Eric Holder, the bigoted crook, and Big Sis Napolitano, chief of the Homo Dept., after Jan. 21.
That is enough to motivate any patriot to vote.
I wasnt quite sure what I was watching,
Yes you did, you were watching an American question its leader - talking to him the same way he talks to us.
Well being dissed by this White House means nothing, as a matter of fact it is a badge of honor but being dissed by an American Icon, well that is a different story. Its crap to be you Biden,or Obama, the mark of Clint is upon you!
Ya got to love the epic arrogance of government employees, pretending and acting like they just don't quite get it.
These people and their endless lies are just plain 100% evil.
” I know what yer thinkin.......did the props consist of one teleprompter..or two”
What I recall reading was that Carney claimed Obama claimed not to have watched. And that was early in the convention. But, I haven’t been paying attention to their ramblings since.
I put an empty chair from my doll furniture collection in the rear window of my car. It’ll be even better at night because every time I step on the brake...a red light goes on a few inches away.

ECOTUS has gone viral...
The various videos of Clint's performance on youtube have almost 2 million (collective) hits so far...and the party is just getting started.
Ooohh, methinks some people on the left are rather thin-skinned. It seems that Dirty Harry has struck a nerve.
Thus far, Mr. Eastwood's use of Clinton's "stellar business performance" has either slid by unnoticed or is being ignored by Clint's Demo critics.
I heard it the first time by and thought that this is a very well thought out "bumbling" skit.
Small men, weak men, feel they have to react to every slight, real or just perceived. Poor leaders are always looking behind them to see if they are still being followed.
Good Lord he is so sexy in that picture.
Hey, the TOTUS and Michelle Obama’s Mirror have a friend now!
Empty Chair has it’s own blog!

Hopefully the entire Obama crowd, and its legacy of dishonesty and mediocrity, will be gone in five months.
LOL!

Play Clinty For Me
By Mark Steyn

Like William F. Gavin, I hugely enjoyed Clint Eastwoods turn last night, but Im not sure I agree that it was unintentionally hilarious and that he forgot his lines, lost his way. Clint is a brilliant actor, and a superb director of other actors (and I dont just mean a quarter-century ago: In the last five years, hes directed eight films). Hes also, as Mr. Gavin observed, a terrific jazz improviser at the piano and, in film and music documentaries, an extremely articulate interviewee. So I wouldnt assume that the general tenor of his performance wasnt exactly as he intended. The hair was a clue: No Hollywood icon goes out on stage like that unless he means to.
John Hayward writes:
The intended recipient was not Mitt Romney, the convention delegates, or even Republican voters, but rather wavering independents. Clint was there to tell them its OK to find Obama, his ugly campaign operation, and his increasingly shrill band of die-hard defenders ridiculous. Its OK to laugh at them.
Im not sure he could have pulled that off if hed delivered a slick telepromptered pitch.

Steyn and Hayward nailed it. That’s exactly what Clint was doing. And it appears to have worked.
Obama attacks Navy Seals
Obama attacks Clint Eastwood
What’s next on his list?
Mom and Apple Pie?
I wasnt quite sure what I was watching,
That’s because you never saw the Jimmy Stewart movie “Harvey,” Jay. If you had, you would have known you were witnessing a brilliant parody of that film’s main character, Elwood P. Dowd:

The Charge: Ridicule without a federal permit
Yes, Clint knew exactly what he was doing.
Saul Alinsky Rule 5:"Ridicule is mans most potent weapon.
Its hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."
You know that Obama can’t get that brilliant bit of theater out of his mind. I love it!
A smart administration wouldn’t have even commented on it. The fact that they have speaks volumes of how badly it got under their skin.
Obama Retaliates!

It’s wonderful, isn’t it? And the liberal media and Obama’s minions just can’t quit talking about it. The more they talk about it, the more people who didn’t see it are going to youtube to watch the video. I’m still in awe of the brilliance of this!

They've not picked up on the "someone" who wanted to have a certain trial in NYC either!
The Dem “talking heads” and surrogates just can’t bring themselves to acknowledge that the entire world “got” Eastwood’s message loud and clear—and they have nowhere to hide.

A Tucson newspaper did an online poll: Did you like Clint Eastwood’s speech? The “Yes” vote was in the 90 percentile range. The “No” vote was embarrassingly low.

I think that is supposed to be two words. LOL
It was a bit of theater that pointedly attacked the weaknesses of Obama—and said what needed to be said—Obama needs to be fired. Watch as the Dems try to make their own skit with Al Frankin or some other Actor. It will not work a second time. They should move on—but it cut to the quick. Look to see Obama’s speech fall flat—he has lost his mojo.
