Tampa, Florida (CNN) - Democratic National Convention officials have been anxiously watching the weather for next week when President Obama will deliver his convention speech from an outdoor stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, a convention official told CNN. Another source said officials have readied a "contingency plan" which would be announced "closer to the convention" should extreme weather strike.
When asked to outline what options that plan might include, the source said, "We will only announce contingency plans in the event that an emergency/severe weather actually arises, so that we can be sure that we communicate only one plan, the one that is accurate and relevant to the situation at hand."

Kinda hoping for hail that night myself.
LOL! The 'RATS may be in color but it'll be on the Weather Channel.
There’s a thread somewhere about 15K (actual) rats being done in by Isaac.
Democrats were annoyed when Issac “spared” Tampa. Now, a little drizzle in Charlotte? Greatest tragedy! Like, Ever!
“President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet.”
Failing again, Barry...
0bama’s a poor conductor.
Why does this jackass have to have this outside at a football stadium anyway? As if he’s such a rockstar and so in demand they needed a stadium. He should just give his damn speech in the convention hall like the rest of the speakers next week.
And another thing, he continued...when the rain comes....remember this...."I made it".
My thoughts also. Bank of America, er, Panther Stadium holds 73,778 for football. Even if they loose a few thousand seats for the DNC it will be difficult to get that many people.
Viking kittehs and ZOT Mistress TOL to Barry,
We know what you're thinking, did we send five or six ZOTs your way...
are you feeling lucky punk? Well are you?
Exactly. They will have to pass out money on the 50 yard line to get anyone into that Stadium.
Monday thru Thursday = Scattered Thunderstorms
Friday = Isolated Thunderstorms
Guess he never read that story about Cnut the Great.
Hail to the Thief.
Ellen Barkin, Clay Aiken, and Samuel Jackson are wondering “What happened?”
They cast their spells of hate at the GOP convention. God must have a “funny” sense of humor.
If Al Gore Junior shows up, it will snow.
“One day a real rain is going to come, and wash all of this scum off the streets.”
Weather forecast for most of the East Coast and definitely the mid-Atlantic includes t-storms at least thru Friday. hahahahaahhaha. Right now in Northern VA just outside DC the skies look like the Fourth of July, there is so much lightning.
” Kinda hoping for hail that night myself. “
Well at least the band could go back to playing “Hail to the Chief”.
I hope it hails on that sand sculpture of the Won.
The Charlotte area can get some real humdinger rainstorms in August, and it’s looking like that might extend into early September this year. I grew up there and if they had asked me, I could have told them that. But then again, I might not have.
Rain is now racist.
DING DING! Someone give peeps36 a Kewpie doll!
Maybe the size of honey dew melons? My first thought was for an even larger fruit that is green outside and red inside, but that might have been interpreted as racist code talk.
It already began to rain on it. Hehehe. Drudge has the link.
The size of golf balls and let’s throw in some lightening bolts just for pizazz.
A Bingo hall or a Day Care.
Im hoping for locusts
They will move it inside when they discover they can’t fill the stadium and then blame it on the weather.
