AFGHANISTAN President Hamid Karzai has condemned what he called a "unilateral operation" by Australian troops in southern Oruzgan province.
Karzai was responding to an apparent Australian operation yesterday in which a tribal elder, Raz Mohammad Khan, 70, and his son Abdul Jalil, 30, were killed. Karzai said the operation breached an agreement with NATO.
Raz Mohammad ... had no relationship with the government or the militants. He and his son were the victims of wrong reports received by Australian troops regarding (their) relations with the Taliban, said Abdullah Hemmat, the provincial spokesman.

Karzai is angry because they didn’t give him a chance to hand over the operational details to his buddies. He’s incredibly corrupt and has a lot of NATO Soldiers’ blood on his hands.
I’d just tell Karzai that Australia isn’t a member of NATO...
Sorry about your nations loss to these stone age savages
Translation: Now we have to renegotiate our graft percentage with a new sand monkey....
We’re not, as you say, a member of NATO, but Australian troops in Afghanistan are, functionally, under NATO command - NATO leads the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) of which Australia is part.
“Karzai is angry because they didnt give him a chance to hand over the operational details to his buddies. Hes incredibly corrupt and has a lot of NATO Soldiers blood on his hands.”
Yep, just like Vietnam where we had to tell the village elder about our operations in his area. He then promptly told the VC what we where about to do.
and probably his drug trafficing buddies.
It is clear the Obozo administration is not attempting to support Israel by positioning troops for a possible action on Iran.
Each and every day we remain, we open up our troops to attack by these savages. Each day we remain, we expend millions of dollars in hard earned tax dollars that could be used to support efforts on our southern border with that cesspool Mexico.
Our blood and treasure is 100% wasted in that land of goat screwers and children beheaders.
now if we are saddled with a bunch of crud from Karzai that will put us and our allies in harms way for no reason....it is time to leave him to his own devices.
Ever since that strange incident involving U.S. SSgt. Bales and the alleged massacre of a couple of families near his base in Afghanistan, I've suspected that the U.S. and NATO countries are coping with a lot of unauthorized operations by troops over there.
“Late summer-autumn 1968: Kurtz’s patrols in the highlands coming under frequent ambush. The camp started falling apart... November: Kurtz orders the assassination of three Vietnamese men and one woman. Two of the men were Colonels in the South Vietnamese army. Enemy activity in his old sector dropped off to nothing. Guess he must have hit the right four people.”
When terrorists struck Israel what did they do to the remaining members of families of those terrorists paid by Saddam ? If that was our policy the shite would stop quickly
Actually they should go after the clerics preaching this krap as well.
You must be mistaken. The US wouldn't do things like that.
The biggest fight we got into in Baghdad was done as a spur-of-the-moment decision by my Battalion Commander to go into a neighborhood without alerting the IA or the police as to our intentions. We stumbled into an outright hornet’s nest. It made me wonder why we ever told them anything. “Building relationships” I suppose...
The incredible irony is that while Phoenix was condemned, after the fact, it was extremely effective, and so decimated the Viet Cong that they really forced them into the Tet Offensive, where they were effectively wiped out.
Today, W. Bush recreated Phoenix as the new SOCOM, at ten times the size, and they conducted their own WoT parallel to the conventional one. I remembered with some amusement reading how at a particular point they had reached a predicament: they were so good at gathering information that it was hard to exploit it.
Far too many targets, which is what happened to Warthog pilots in GWI, who were depleting their ammo so fast that they had their mechanics fab their guns for three round bursts instead of full auto.
One little known but highly effective Vietnam program I wish they would reactivate was called “Death Watch”, in which, due to a shortage of junior infantry officers who were really expert with calling in field artillery, that for a short time, field artillery enlisted troops were assigned to infantry units to do so.
Infantry casualties in units with such FA enlisted dropped to nothing other than accidents and disease. As soon as they spotted enemy, their FA guy would call in arty so accurately that the infantry never got close enough to fire their rifles. They were okay with this.
But officers were horrified that mere enlisted men could call in fires, so the program was killed dead.
We ought to dump Karzai into a Taliban stronghold. Or just dump him Bin Laden style...
Giving him operational details ranks right up there with publishing them on the Internet. Heck, they’d probably be MORE secure on the Internet!
