Waiting for Charlotte: Will the Democrats Get the Tampa Treatment?

I’d like to discuss the upcoming Democratic National Convention. But first, I need to purge some snark from my system – snark fueled by four days of the media doing their best to find every irony, contradiction and inconsistency pertaining to the Republicans’ convention in Tampa.

Nitpick #1: The party’s being held at Time Warner Cable Arena, which doubles as the home of the Charlotte Bobcats – last year, the NBA’s worst team ever, percentage-wise. The brains behind that gang that literally can’t shoot straight is Michael Jordan, who came from Chicago with the promise of delivering hope and change for pro hoops in the Queen City. As an executive, Air Jordan is Error Jordan – less a cash cow than he is Mrs. O’Leary’s cow. Sounds a bit like another Chicago icon that’s soon descending on Charlotte.

Given the freak show the Dems have planned, I suspect there is not enough media lipstick in the world to make this pig a beauty.

Can’t wait to see how Chris Mathews and Rachel Maddow and Ed Schulz and “Toure” (what is a “toure”), spin things on MSNBC. I’m sure they will be reverential in their coverage of the Democrat convention. They will praise the diversity of the Democrat convention, after having intentionally censoring out speaker after speaker on the GOP side who was a member of a minority group.

And HateFest. A person would have to be a sick puppy to find the hate that will be emanating from their TV screen to be inspirational.

But wait!! The Dems and their propaganda arm (the "news" media) asked how the Repubs could go ahead with their convention with a hurricane hitting the Gulf Coast. There are still 400,000+ without power and many are homeless. Will the media ask how could the Dems hold their convention when so many people are in need of help from the hurricane?

No, I didn't think so, either.
