ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) Rep. Todd Akins insurgent campaign against both Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill and the leaders of his own party may not be the long shot its been portrayed, despite the national furor over Akins comments on The Jaco Report that women who are victims of legitimate rape have natural defenses against becoming pregnant.
A pair of polls taken after the incident and the following uproar either show Akin with a lead over McCaskill, or indicate the race is tied. The latest survey from Public Policy Polling, taken August 29, shows McCaskill leading Akin 45% to 44%, well within the polls margin of error. Another poll released the same day by the staunchly anti-abortion Family Research Council shows Akin ahead 45% to 42%.
In addition, Akin has picked up there de-facto endorsement of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who told NBCs Meet the Press that Akin was nominated by a plurality of voters in the Missouri GOP primary, and that since Akin has apologized, its time
.to move on.

Same here with this Akin guy. His big mistake was in letting Democrats campaign for him without complaint, and then giving an early post primary interview to a well known Extreme Leftwingtard fruitcake ~ obviously he wasn't in concert with what Conservative Republicans ought to be doing in a primary.
But neither was Mitt. Both needed to step down on that issue alone.
I would have been quite happy for both of them to drop out, or maybe just MItt drop out.
were todd akin were a conservative democrat; said the same plausible thing he said (essentially that a woman’s state of mind effects the probablity of a successful conception) and was attacked by the same republican establishment media and actors, my defense of him would be exactly the same.
the pandering games that liberal republicans (like romney) or democrats play mean nothing to me as an ex democrat, now independent conservative. my faith in God exclusively defines me, and a man who will stand-up for the right of all innocents to life (including the unborn) is a man i will trust, because that issue is at fulcrum of our failing culture; it will expose and draw the hate of all the enemies of God and of our God given liberty. that alone, to know my enemies, is worth supporting this man for me. not withstanding all of that, i still believe that conservatism can win against all odds. it really depends on what good men will do and finally on what God wills.
for example, romney couldn’t have stepped down if he wanted to (and he, IMO, being groomed like obama from childhood to take political power would never voluntarily stepped down anyway. ends justify the means people like him never volunteer to “step down”); he is in the race because God has decided he will work his own purposes through romney. let us hope and pray that it is mercy this time, and not justice, the Lord has on his plate. frankly, my money is on justice.
Horsepuckey!!

Humorless apparatchik ~ or maybe even worse, a Mittbot!
Time to expand the bomb shelter, stash some more ammo, get more guns ~ this is getting too close for comfort.
Maybe I can dig down another 20 feet with a bigger backhoe?
.
Clue ~ the acolytes of the anti-christ share in their master's glow ~ we got two of them running for President this time.
certainly in my life, God has turned my sinful actions to the good while humbling me in the process. i believe that our infinite Creator can see ways we can’t to make lemonaid out of the worst lemons.
may God us all, friend.

Right. Akin had only 3 things to do to win:
1. Keep smiling
2. Kiss babies
3. Shake hands
He added a fourth and look what happened.
Who writes or edits headlines these days? Is there not one person in the media that speaks English?
“Maybe” or “May be”?

For the hearing impaired:
I have noticed that when anyone disagrees with you, you standard derisive retort is to call them a mittbot. Since now there are only two remaining in the race, then you win the prize - you’re the obamabot, and likely have been all along while bad-mouthing everyone else!

Do you imagine it's some sort of curseword or what?
It's just like the other terms: Gorebot, Obamabot, Mittbot, Bushbot, McCainiac............
The way I'm seeing this is you want a burr under your saddle ~ about nothing ~ so typical of the Mittbots!!!
Currently we are up to our necks in them and there's 'gators crawling on top of 'em!
