On Monday’s edition of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” broadcast live from Charlotte, N.C., North Carolina Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue went out of her to blast Republicans and conservatives for their positions on social issues.
“May I make a point?” Perdue said at the site of the 2012 Democratic National Convention. “I’ve never seen a bunch like this here so against regulation, Chris. They want less, less, less. And then it comes to a woman in the bedroom and they want to control everything. I don’t get that.”
Noted women’s issues expert and “Hardball” host Chris Matthews went on to ask Perdue if she thought people understand what it means to support an abortion ban, that such a ban would drive the practice of abortion underground.
“They’re going to go somewhere to end the pregnancy if they can afford it,” Perdue said. “But for poor women you’ll be back to the days of coat hangers in the bathtub and you’ll see women die. No, choice is a huge issue. I”m old enough to think that war was fought.”
Matthews then asked if the North Carolina governor was “surprised” to see Romney suggest he wanted to rid the judiciary of “liberal judges” and ultimately “ram through an end” to Roe v. Wade.
“That’s the end game in every state in America,” she said. “That’s right out of Karl Rove’s playbook. We know that and we see what’s happened in Texas. We’ve seen what has happened all over the country. People have got to stand up. Women have to understand that it might be their daughter or their granddaughter who’s raped. And there’s no such thing as legitimate rape. Rape is a rape, and that young woman should have a choice about what to do with her body and her life.”

When one considers the number of botched abortions we’ve been reading about lately where the woman died, I’m not really sure I know what ditzy Bev is talking about. I don’t think she does either.

Beverly Perdue is a perfect example of how it’s impossible to discuss certain issues with the liberals.
The liberals frame the debate to be that anyone who opposes any aspect of abortion on demand as espoused by Roe Vs. Wade, anyone who favors any restrictions on abortion, is thus in favor of women dying in botched abortions. How can you have dialogue on the issue with people like this???
Or, in other words, Romney and Ryan want women impaled on coat hangers. They are actually in favor of women being stabbed with these rusty coat hangars.
That’s the state of the abortion debate in this country. And the media enables this, as they never call out the liberals on this. And other issues too.
The medical director of Planned Parenthood wrote in 1960 that “90% of illegal abortions are presently being done by physicians.”
Likewise, the “coat hanger abortion” is a myth. In his 1979 book, Aborting America, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, co-founder of the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws (NARAL) mentions one coat hanger abortion.
However, Nathanson, who is now committedly pro-life, has publicly confessed to fabricating evidence in order to get abortion legalized.
There is no hard evidence to support the performance of a single coat hanger abortion.
NARAL claimed that 1,000,000 illegal abortions were performed yearly, though they believed the actual number to be about 100,000. They claimed that 10,000 women died each year from illegal abortions, knowing that the actual number was a mere fraction of this.

I doubt the unborn baby has a preference between bathtub or clinic. End result is the same except maybe bathtub may provide instant karma.
And, frankly, I don't care what goes on in your bedroom, but we you start parading it down Main Street and in front of Congressional committees and asking others to accept, condone and pay for it, I might have a problem.
PS Libs: What if I use protection in the bedroom -- like an ashtray and a Smith & Wesson. You got a problem with that?
