Imagine the headlines, and the impact, if he ever made such a call!
And it would be a call to save our blessed republic!
(Of course, you have to be careful about expressing this because - ahem- the you-know-who’s might be monitoring this site...wink)
Our own FReeper “Travis McGee” (Matt Bracken) wrote a great Trilogy about a disrupted, semi-dystopic future for the USA wherein we fell into chaos and the “South” rallied around a popular conservative military man as their political and military leader who restored leadership and government under benign martial law. One could infer “Travis” borrowed from LTC West’s persona to create this character, but I think the text preceded the rise of LTC West in real life.
I encourage you (and all FReepers) to read and learn from Matt Bracken’s “Enemies Foreign and Domestic” trilogy.
