The son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Rory Reid, is the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, a Chinese energy company seeking to build a $5 billion solar panel plant on a 9,000-acre Clark County desert plot in Laughlin, Nevada.
ENN scored big when Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to sell the Chinese company the public land for just $4.5 million, despite the fact that it was appraised at $38.6 million.

Another solar shakedown scam, this time dingy harry and son get the payoff! Solar cell plants are the biggest money making racket going in the obama administration. Just think, we used to put mobsters in prison for doing the very same thing.

I think you might want to be more worried about the fact they sold a piece of Nevada state land valued near $40 million for $4 million. Pretty blatant corruption there. Harry and his family have a long history in Nevada of this sort of sleazy dealings.

Sure no conflict of interest when they sell state of Nevada land valued at nearly $40 million for $4 million.

Let' see: $4.5M for a $38.6M property?
Those politicians are in for some serious 'bonuses'.

It is NEVER just a coincidence when a long-term pol’s son goes into lobbying. The son is always selling influence. It is corruption.
Joe Biden never earned more than a Congressman’s salary, but lives on a huge spread in the country. I think two, not one, of his sons are in the lobbying and government contracting business. Whose influence have they been selling.
To: Pearls Before Swine
I bet Joe is selling it outright himself. who needs sons.

What am I missing here? How is it possible for anyone to sell part of the U.S. to another country, in this case 9,000 acres? Now we have China owning part of the U.S.
Who knows what they will use it for in the future?

Hi Johnnie,
I’m not ‘in the know’ about sales of state land; however, if it is in fact Nevada State land and not just Cook County land, wouldn’t the Nevada Congress and/or Governor need to approve the sale, rather than just the Cook County (as I understand it Dem & Union County) Commissionars approve it?
Best,
SC

Dingy Harry actually had a ribbon cutting ceremony with some big deal ChiComs solar guys down there at the site. The news was scrubbed but for the Laughlin News, circulation 200. Solyndra declared bankruptcy the next day.
The ChiComs claim they will build a solar manufacturing plant then place the panels on the land and produce electricity.
They have no customers for the electricity. So Dingy Harry has been pressuring the state utility commission to force Nevada Energy to contract for the energy. Nevada Energy says it is booked up with state mandated renewable quotas.
The ChiComs also claim they will built a few thousand houses for employees. Lots of pie in the sky commie noise. Dingy Harry is known to own some land nearby across the Colorado River in Arizona. He and Nancy Pelosi do control all the BLM (federal land) that has been sold for the last decade.
In any event, given the local politics (state and county) and the fact that the ChiCom solar industry is virtually bankrupt, don't look for anything to happen except for Dirty Harry to claim more PR points for pressing alternative fuels.

Well see, no Lib had any idea at campaign time zackly how much trouble it would be to close a GIT. Sort of like that economy dust up they've turned into a first rate disaster.
Turns out Gitmo wasn't built in a day ja know. It'll take AT LEAST four more years to properly dispose of it....
Hey!?!
