Asked by Parade magazine, "What do you hope to accomplish in your second term?” First Lady Michelle Obama said she wants to "impact the nature of food in grocery stores" with the aim of cutting sugar, fat and salt.

“With 'Lets Move!,' our goal is to end the problem of childhood obesity in a generation,” Mrs. Obama said. “And while we’ve seen some very profound cultural shifts, we still have communities that don’t have access to affordable and healthy foods. We still need to find a way to impact the nature of food in grocery stores, in terms of sugar, fat, and salt.”

Stockpile your favorite sodas, salty snacks, and desserts cause if Barry gets a 2nd term "Grocery Czar" Moochelle is going to make sure you eat healthy.

I wonder if she’ll ask her husband to force those on food stamps to only be able to redeem them for tofu, non-fat and organic and low-sodium products?

Her husband and a complicit congress have already impacted food....namely prices. Inflation will spike with all the money printing that has gone on.

This by now is familiar rhetoric:
“End (fill in the blank) this or that “by a generation”.
Biggest problems are:
1.They won’t get “a chance” to do this, because they’re not going to be re-elected.
2. EVERYTHING ELSE about their multiple agendas will
PERFECT childhood obesity FOR a generation.

the aim of cutting sugar, fat and salt.

People with high blood pressure will be happy to have the alternative of more low salt foods to choose from.Just don't force people to eat low salt foods.

This is not a new idea. Rush and Levin have expounded on this. The radical left calls it “food justice”.

It’s not enough that the middle class is taxed to provide food stamps for a record number of takers. But they will also be called up to subsidize fresh fruit and vegetable choices (which they cannot afford to purchase for their own table) for poor people.

It’s just more wealth transfer, race to bottom, crap under the guise of “justice”.

Every grocery store has healthy foods being sold at a discount to the usually more expensive unhealthy foods being sold there.

The problem is not that grocery stores do not stock healthy food (not that they have any obligation to) but that many consumers prefer to buy unhealthy food.

So what she is calling for is restricting consumer freedoms and free enterprise in general.

Stay out of our grocery stores moochele, you have no business telling anyone what they can buy to eat, (judging by the junk in her trunk).

Once again, people need to pay attention to what these people are saying and THINK about what it REALLY MEANS.

“We want to end childhood obesity in a generation.” OK, sounds great. Until you think about it; just how do they propose to do that in a manner consistent with 0bama’s philosophy of “we can’t have 5% of the world’s population and consume 25% of its resources and expect the rest of the world to say that’s OK.”

Rationing, anyone? It’s easy to end childhood obesity when children are starving under a command economy.

Just look at what gets stolen when the flash mobs hit the convenience stores. It’s not bananas and oranges, it’s candy and soda.

Whenever I see “Shareable” portions being advertised where they were formerly “Large” or “King”, I have the compulsion to buy the biggest size available and scarf it down without sharing a single bite.

I don’t do it actually. But the compulsion is there.

With the Obama economy, supermarkets will fill our rations of rice, beans and a little cooking oil.
