Federal judge orders taxpayer-funded sex change for wife killer

A federal judge today ordered state prison officials to provide a taxpayer-funded sex-reassignment surgery to a transgender inmate serving life in prison for murder.

U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled in the case of Michelle Kosilek, who was born as a man but has received hormone treatments and lives as a woman in an all-male prison. Robert Kosilek was convicted of murder in the killing of his wife in 1990.

Wolf is believed to be the first federal judge to order prison officials to provide the surgery for a transgender inmate.

Kosilek first sued the Massachusetts Department of Correction 12 years ago. Two years later, Wolf ruled that Kosilek was entitled to treatment for gender-identity disorder, but stopped short of ordering surgery. Kosilek sued again in 2005, arguing that the surgery is a medical necessity.

Interesting juxtaposition. We have enough cash to fund surgery humoring the delusions of the mentally ill, but we need ObamaCare’s death panels ration medical care for decent people. That combination would be hard to justify to anyone rational, i.e., to anyone but a liberal.

Okay I am all for it.
Only one rule. He/she must remain in the all male prison.

Sorry, that would be cruel and unusual punishment - to the other inmates.

Maybe they should have said the treatment for gender-identity disorder was “cut” short?

I vote that the judge receives his own judgement.

Doesn’t have to be a muzzie — just send him/her over to Bubba a few cells down, and bribe Bubba with a pack of smokes to use his shiv to give the perv a “special” reach-around.

I would perform the surgical removal of his package with a worn out pair of dikes for free. I would require the MA morons
that are keeping this judge in office to pay for gas mileage to get there.

Does the sex change mean that he would then be sent to a woman’s prison?

Do the folks that make these decision ever think past the next few hours. What happens when you send a lifer, who has nothing to lose, and who has shown a proclivity for killing women, into a target rich environment?

Judge Mark Wolf and jailed murder Michelle Kosilek demonstrate one of the cases for capital punishment ~ despite the cost of the appeals, long term housing for a certain class of prisoner can be exorbitantly costly.

All things considered the judge probably has a tingle running up his leg over this one.

Can’t he just “die” on the operating table?

How about every time a judge orders this crap, it comes out of their salary and pension, the entire cost?

This judge needs to be impeached.

Unless he can defend his actions by pointing to a clear law passed by the legislature and signed off on by the executive that states that this type of “treatment” is to be provided to inmates.
