Chris Fields, a US Marine Corps Major (retired) is running against incumbent Congressman Keith Ellison in Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District. He writes:
My opponent, Keith Ellison, is militantly anti-America. We cannot allow him to continue serving in Congress. That’s why, after retiring from the Marine Corps less than one year ago, I’m running for Congress.
I’m not your typical Republican candidate. I grew up in the South Bronx with two younger siblings and a single mom. Although my mom worked long hours to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, we relied on well-meaning but poorly designed government programs like food stamps and welfare. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and took control of my future.
“Honor, Courage and Commitment” is instilled in every Marine and I took these three principles to heart. During my 21+ year career, I earned my commission as a Marine Corps officer, went to college, graduated with the academic distinction of Magna Cum Laude, and served two combat tours in Iraq. Now I’m running for Congress to continue serving the country I love–because when I look at what’s happening in Washington, I’m ashamed.
Congress has become a sea of stubbornness filled with men and women who have lost sight of their purpose–to provide leadership. Instead, they’ve made getting re-elected their main priority and neglected their responsibilities to their constituents. Keith Ellison is the worst offender of all.
Fields doesn’t mention it, but Keith Ellison has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood (“Allah is our goal; the Koran is our constitution; the prophet is our leader; struggle is our way; and death in the path of Allah is our highest aspiration”). Ellison told the Huffington Post: “I am not now, nor have I ever been, associated with the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said with a laugh.
In fact, it is his denial that is laughable. … a mountain of evidence of his contacts with and support of Muslim Brotherhood front groups – identified as such by the U.S. government – shows that the Muslim Brotherhood definitely knows who he is.

I highly recommend that you read that piece in its entirety but meanwhile, I strongly urge you to immediately and generously support Chris Fields’ candidacy by donating whatever you can to his campaign.
Getting rid of Ellison before he can spread more rot throughout our federal government would be a HUGE step toward restoring “the consent of the governed” and restoring American values where they are most needed: in Washington DC!

Hopefully everyone will get behind him. Hey over the state line to the East, we dumped Russ Feingold, but Russ is a good guy compared to Ellison. Ok, I digress here talking about Senate seats. Now we’re looking to bring home another GOP winner with Tommy Thompson.
