Democrats brag about killing Osama bin Laden

CHARLOTTE—Perhaps acknowledging a potential weakness this November, several Democrats have used their speeches on the first night of the Democratic National Convention to promote President Barack Obama's record on the military.

At least three times, speakers, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, have pointed to Obama's decision to approve the raid that killed Osama bin Laden—suggesting Obama overcame Republican skepticism about a potential raid.

"Some said he shouldn't move heaven and earth to get bin Laden," Reid said. "But President Obama made the tough and right call to bring the world's worst terrorist to justice."

Tammy Duckworth, a former Army pilot who lost both legs when her helicopter was shot down during the Iraq war, also brought up the bin Laden raid in her speech defending Obama on military issues.

"Barack Obama has also lived up to his responsibilities as commander-in-chief, ending the war in Iraq, refocusing on Afghanistan and eradicating terrorist leaders including bin Laden," said Duckworth, who is now running for an Illinois congressional seat.

Oh yes. I remember it well.

All the Republicans were demanding in unison that we not pursue Bin Laden, and only the heroic bravery by Hussein Obama got the job done.

Good Lord, what planet do these people think we live on?

There will be no spiking of the football, unless of course it is Barack Obama who is the one doing the spiking.

The Democrats put road blocks in front of W every day after 911....they made every attempt to destroy the war effort. In fact, they wanted to close Gitmo and bring folks to NY for trials. So tonight we’ve heard lies, godlessness, tax funded abortions, government is our life.....sounds like a successful DNC Convention to me.

i read the reports. after surveying the situation with the intelligence brought in from biden and debbie whatshername shultz,

obama and reid, donned their military gear and their parachutes, after receiving training on how to fire a rifle, and went on an exciting mission to pakistan.

being dropped behind enemy lines, we thanked the American businessmen for the quality of “Depends”.

obama in the lead with reid cowering behind, they killed osama.

i have that from secret sources.

blessings, bobo

Maybe when they stop bragging they can find the time to go after OBL’s coconspirator Zawahiri.

Yeah. Right. The whole team was created, and put into operation by Bush. All the idiot-in-chief had to do was say, “Ok.” And how many times did Valerie put off that decision?

And what about the female former blackhawk co-pilot bragging about how brave she was? THAT PISSED ME OFF. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR MILITARY? DON’T ANSWER THAT.

It was the policies that Bush implemented, often opposed by Obama, that let to killing Bin Laden.

Ex-CIA Counterterror Chief: ‘Enhanced Interrogation’ Led U.S. to bin Laden
10 Reasons Why the Death of Bin Laden Won't Help Obama In the Long Run
Sorry Bush... Obama's Gutsy Decision Got Osama (don't be put off by the title, read on)

I will give Obama credit for one thing. He took office, saw the situation reports, and made the right decision to continue Bush's policies, taking much heat from his own side in the process. When he had the opportunity, he made the call that got him. I have no problem giving him credit for any of this, even at FR.

What I have a problem with is he and his supporters acting as if everything that led to getting Bin Laden happened after January, 2009. That is simply false, and we and the GOP need to make sure everyone knows it.

One more point, the left felt no obligation to re-elect Bush I after the Soviet Union fell, so why should we be obligated to vote for Obama because of this?

IIRC, this is Duckworth's third attempt at winning any seat in Congress. How many shots are the Dem's going to give her? Sheesh...

“Democrats brag about ... “ It’s sad that they only have a couple arrows in their quiver, but

http://clashdaily.com/2012/08/obama-balked-three-times-before-osama-was-killed/

it’s not much of a `profile in courage’ when Obama’s secretary had to threaten to go medieval on his scrawny butt because he was worried about political repercussions, couldn’t make a decision and kept saying that he would “sleep on it”.

Once the mission succeeded, then to hear him describe it he was practically leading the SEAL team and we were all wondering if he might not award himself the Medal of Honor.

More importantly, note how liberals really don’t believe either in the rule of law, nor in justice, but simply in power to execute what they believe is righteous independent of anybody else or any other institution.

Personally, I believe Osama bin Laden was guilty of many crimes worthy of capital punishment, but the real travesty is that the person claiming responsibility for killing bin Laden, was well educated and trained in the rule of law, in Constitutional Law, and elected to avoid any just judgment prior to issuing an order for the execution of bin Laden.

There was no due process, neither is US law, Constitutional Law, the Law of Warfare, nor International Law for the ad hoc unilateral decision to simply kill binLaden after demonizing him in the public perception.

He wasn’t killed as a combatant.

This doesn’t mean bin Laden was not guilty, but it manifests the civilian authority opted to use violence without justice to serve his desire to execute lethal power.

Since the person claiming responsibility for that decision relishes his behavior, he will have to answer directly to God for the taking of another life.

It would have been much cleaner had those in the rear, with judicial systems available to them, had simply charged and tried binLaden in abstentia with a formal hearing, then issued the orders for the sentance to be executed, instead of simply killing somebody out of a hostile act. Now they have given incentive to a virtuous adversary to justly and righteously oppose our actions, irregardless the guilt of bin Laden

With Democrats talking about soldiering I think a quote is in order, “Talking about killing? Y’all experts? Y’all know about killing? I’d like to hear about it, potheads.”
