Posted on 09/04/2012 9:12:43 PM PDT by STARWISE
Speculation about Pauls intentions will intensify even more because Paul will appear on NBCs The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night to make an announcement, presumably about whether he will make a third-party run or support Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.
Evan Cutler of Alaskans for Ron Paul told those on the conference call that he spoke at length with Paul and his wife last Friday.
Cutler said Paul told him he has not completely ruled out a third-party run. Cutler said Paul did express concerns about ballot access and the money that would be required for such a run.
According to Cutler, Paul was no longer a Republican as of Friday, and for Paul to get his name on the ballot in all 50 states, Paul would have to be on the Libertarian Party ticket.

The show's started in the midwest.
"....because Paul will appear on NBCs The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night to make an announcement.."
End the Fed!
Good riddance. I wish you had never been part of the party in the first place. You really f’d up the nominations.
I always figured Paul for a Perot. He is a man who could care less about how much damage he does to this country, so long as he gets his 15 minutes. Wonder what Obama has promised him?
Paul is a senile douchebag. I used to have grudging respect for him, until his shameful Bradley-Manning-is-an-American-hero and Muslims-are-peaceful-unless-provoked-by-American-imperialism speech in Tampa. Gary Johnson is a phony “libertarian” who wants Obama to IMPOSE “gay marriage” on the states (so much for the 10th Amendment). HOWEVER....Romney’s cabal made a BIG mistake in changing the RNC rules from 5 to 8 states to put Paul on the ballot. It would likely have defused his massive ego enough to keep him away from Johnson, and would have added some needed drama to a horribly boring convention.
“Good riddance. I wish you had never been part of the party in the first place. You really fd up the nominations.”
You mean he threatened the coronation. Ron Paul had absolutely no effect on the primary battle outside of Iowa for a week or so before Santorum shot up.
He is a man who could care less about how much damage he does to this country, so long as he gets his 15 minutes.
ABSOLUTELY! He’s a selfish, self-indulgent, whining, obsessive, one horse pony.
God help us .. and he’d probably take great pleasure in screwing up everything, splitting the votes .. and oh, by the way, the hell with his dear son’s future in the pubbie party, unless he’s part of this shameless conspiracy, too.
Good. At least he is out of the Party now.
Charlatan earmarks queen.
He has never proposed a solution to the Fed. He just wants to end it. He no better than Obama, all bark and no competence.
and Virgil Goode is on the ballot in Virginia.
Ron Paul and Virgil Goode, these ego freaks just don’t care.
If true, he just killed Rand Paul’s political career.
Ron Paul was always working for Soros. He was always working to help get Obama reelected.
He just has to have attention. Like a 3 year old.
There goes Nevada.
Put my state in the Obama column if this is true.
“Paul would have to be on the Libertarian Party ticket”
Not that he hasn’t done it before...but at this late date I don’t see Gary Johnson stepping aside.
**he’s ON NOW .. JAY LENO .. NBC!
yahooo, Ron Paul is finally leaving the Republican Party.
If it were only so, I just don’t beleive him.
Ron Paul will never get the coverage in a different party that he does in the Republican Party, so will he ever leave?
I have had sympathy for some of Paul’s views but with his campaign’s attacks on Rick Santorum and word that his people were giving their passes to Code Pink people to disrupt the Republican convention, I think I’m through with him. His son might be a more mainstream, palatable presidential choice for those of the Libertarian bent.
Ron Paul supporters would have no problem depositing a horse's head in between the sheets.
Let him run 3rd party, more dems will crossover to vote for him
Paul and Goode seem hellbent on putting the Kenyan back in the White House.
Thanks for nothing, guys.
Ron Paul is a fool. How can someone who loses a primary be able to run anyway? He should have just ran third party in the first place and maybe helped get a real conservative nominated.
Shame we only have probably one of the most liberal Republicans ever to run for the White House. I mean, to the left of John McCain - that's something I never expected.
Run, Paul, run, take off with the libertarians! Scare the ever living daylights out of Obama, and push Romney to the right.
Unfortunately, this is only pipe dreams from the Ganga Gang. It will never happen. But a person can dream, right?
“End the Fed!”
Yes cause I know I’ll sleep better at nights knowing that the likes of Maxine Waters, Barbera Boxer and Chuck Schumer are in charge.
useless but dangerous idiot.
OK .. whew! He just said when asked: NO to
3rd party run.
Hallelujah! I was gettin’ so antsy.
Well good. Whether he did it for the sake of the country or sake of his son’s future political career . . . glad to hear it. Gary Johnson who? Now to win VA with that Goode fellow. Unleash the PAC ads on him.
Then we’ll proceed to push Romney further to the right every day if he wins with Ryan’s help.
This was taped hours ago. Why was this news embargoed? Issues of national security are leaked but not “this” bit of must watch tv? Feh.
Romney and Paul partnered in their attacks on the other candidates in the GOP primary.
Then he tried to hijack the nomination process without winning delegates in the primary.
This country is in a world of hurt and that crazy old self-centered coot ain’t helping one bit.
Amazing, this may be what puts Obama over the top.
That is if the blatant rampant voter fraud isn’t enough.
From a tiny ACORN the mighty fraud grows...
why sure ..run and re seat Obama.Didnt rand give a nice speech at the RNC convention.
Thank you for the update!
I listened to several Dem speeches and just wasn’t able to listen to Paul as well.
I can only listen too just so much insanity in one evening. :)
That is good news.
Had Paul run as a third party candidate, Baraq would have easily won with the 45% of the vote he has completely locked up already.
You said everything I was going to say, only much more succinctly.
Please stop looking like some old mare who hasn’t figured out it’s time to turn out to pasture.
You do this Ron and i will join Levin and activelly work against Rand....to the point I will even donate to his Democrat opponent.
Retire in dignity....
We escaped a possible treachery .. whew! ;)
NO 3rd party .. from Ron Paul, he says
If we don't get Obama out of there American is done. It could come down to one percent.
“Let him run 3rd party, more dems will crossover to vote for him.”
You may be right. I know many dems who are somewhat sympathetic to Paul, but could never vote for Romney. Still these 3rd party vanity candidicies are a boon for 0bama.
Beg to differ. Paul's supporters are more likely to vote for Obama than for Romney.
Fiscal issues are the only "conservative" issue the Paultards give a damn about. Aside from that, they are anti-war, anti-Republican and four-square for drug legalization.
You nearly gave me a heart attack! :D
I feel like we just dodged a bullet.
Some FREEPERS must have Perot’s Derangement Syndrome.
Polls show Paul draws as many votes from 0bummer as he does from Romney.
I’d vote for looney ron paul before i’d vote for liberal romney - I’m a Republican. But i probally wont be voting this go around
And for that matter.... Ron Paul just looks stupid and crazy, and every time he opens his mouth he proves it.
Me too .. believe me.
Do NOT trust the man.
Are you insinuating that its conservative to be pro-war of any sort? And if you are that much against drug legalization why dont you campaign for banning alcohol? Conservatives generally dont like big government, and in that respect Paul wasmore conservative than the entire Republican liberal party.
