Romney’s greatest liability is abortion. With it, his other Liberal tendencies are exposed. But it’s his failure to stand up for Life that drives the opposition.
I think it’s important we respect those Conservatives that choose not to vote for Romney. Ultimately, however, I believe Life & Liberty have better odds with the 3 Republican Houses.
This is true.
Yep - when I was 22 I voted for Ross Perot because I thought Bush was not doing a good job. I was also pretty stoned at the time.
As a result of the Perot third party pusch... America got Slick willy for 8 friggin years.
I’m sorry, You were saying something about conservatism?
Every vote counts, and we should look forward to a strong and complete rejection of Obama and his way of thinking both in the Popular and Electorial vote count.
We do not want a repeat of 2000. We do want the socialists isolated and hiding in a cave wondering about what they did wrong for a long time.
We need to humiliate the enemies of freedom so much that their political thought is considered a joke or comedy by the majority of Americans, and we make even more Congressional gains in the 2014 midterms.
No quarter for them. And that is also how we get rid of the RINOs, because we already successfully primaried more than one out.
We want conservatism to grow, not shrink.
I guarantee you I will never vote for R/R. There is nothing you or anyone can say, any movie or anything else that will ever convince me.
You read the whole thing, right?
In the Bible, when God’s people were unfaithful, He rarely punished them directly. He would raise up a destroyer, until they came back to Him. If they were faithful, He would restore them.
So it is with us today. God in on His throne and in full control. Put this first in your political thinking. Look to Him for the Way out.
God will decide who wins this election - not you or me.
I know it’s hard, but you should watch the DNC.
They are telling the circus of fools that Romney is the greatest threat to abortion and gay marriage, and THAT is why they should vote against Romney.
Don’t you find it at least a bit telling about the political situation in this country? He can’t be both.
Pray for Romney, that’s the only game in town right now.
Under the right conditions, our new party will draw 70% of the Republicans, 50% of the Independents and 20% of the Democrats.
If one chooses to join the battle to fight with his fellow patriots, why choose to fire only blanks?
Why serve under Benedict Arnold when you could serve under Washington?
If Romney was a complete unknown, I'd still have to take a chance. Four years ago I pulled for Romney as the un-McCain.
Romney wasn't my first choice, either. He was and is the first choice of, at least, one conservative I respect. Ann Coulter says he governs with more conservative enthusiasm than he talks. She has cited examples of this and said it was necessary to get elected in Massachusetts. I hope she remains right.
It's starting to look like Romney will win this in a landslide, but nothing is sure. That Obama is sure to win in several states tells me how far our society has drifted. If we lived in a federalist nation as first envisioned, that wouldn't matter, but we don't.
This year a vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Obama. If we sit at home in November, we are voting for Obama, with our feet. Indeed, anyone that votes for Obama, using any vehicle, does not want the United States to survive as a soveriegn nation.
Such is my opinion.
Posting without reading again, I see.
Based on the number of freepers who read nothing but your headline, I suggest that you change it.
Fight for the best candidate possible, but vote the best available.
In time, youll end up with both.
There is so much simplicity and truth in what you say that I have amazed so many find it hard to understand and instead claim they will stay home.
-——it does not seem to be panning out that way——
The presidential candidate is not the government.
The essence of the Tea Party has permeated the Republican fabric and will be felt in the House and the Senate. The bills passed with TP input will not be vetoed.
The concept of all or nothing does not apply to our form of government. Politics is said to be the art of the possible. We go forward adjusting the possible to our favor with in the constraints of available power.
You are as big a narcissist as Ubama.
TEA party in roads to the GOP are the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people, and we don’t have consolidated leadership by design.
No one promised it was going to happen overnight, especially in a bottom to top movement.
No third party has the infrastructure. Therefore, we take over the GOP slowly and get gains in every election. We don’t support perfect conservative candidates either. We have a few that were awesome “on paper” but just plain not electable. We’re learning.
Third party hurts more than helps. It was tried and it doesn’t work in national elections on either side. And it is easier and cheaper to just use the GOP against itself, pushing it to be a starker choice overall versus running candidates against each other that agree on 60% of the same issues when we can just primary the non-conservative candidate out the same way. It is a lot different on the local and state level in comparison.
In politics, there are short term compromises like Scott Brown. We have younger candidates as well, like Marco Rubio. Or all out war like Jan Brewer.
All of this requires membership in the GOP. You don’t have to give the RNC a dime, just register and vote in primaries.
Mac, it is ok. It is what I have been saying all along. You are not compromising your ideals or your soul! WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE THE REPUBLIC! This POTUS must be sent packing and we have no more time left.
Now we can all talk about the rapture taking us, revolting, going 3rd party etc.
Fact is we are at the point we are at. It is today and a reality dictates that we stand together and get to work to elect R&R. That’s all we have left and I do
agree with you, R&R love this country AND believe in God, Family, Country in that order.
We have our marching orders....get to work!
Thank You Jim Robinson for stating what some of us capitulated earlier to do, but you gave the signal to all. We promise you to kick Romney in the ——if he doesn’t do the job.
God Bless us all, and God Bless America!!
People that don’t vote R&R ARE casting a vote for Obama. This is a lesser of two evils situation and I’ve seen too much, to know that if Obama has his way America as we know it will cease to exist.
Ditto. I figured she'd be one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.
Both she and Ryan are the 'spoonful of sugar' to make the GOP-E candidate more palatable.
Bottom line...nobody tells me who to vote for....it’s called freedom.
I am not trying to change your mind, your convictions and your decisions will have to answer to God.
For me, I said the same thing until the Supreme Court placated to the liberals and decided they would not stand for the Constitution and the American people.
You do not have to answer me, but like I said you will answer to God. Stand on your principles. I respect that.
some of us don’t have time to read every thread.
This is an important one especially with some of the rhetoric here.
This post needs to be BTT every day until election day,try that?
So where is this General Washington of which you speak? I don’t see his name on the ballot. If he’s out there somewhere fighting against the current oppression and tyranny, why hasn’t his army made it to the real battle?I would love to live happy and free in a conservative or libertarian utopia. But unfortunately, this is a real world war we’re in... Romney / Ryan is our only alternative right now. Maybe someday, a new General Washington will arise. But I believe that a new General Washington is more likley to arise if our nations survives, than if it doesn’t.
And you’re voting for...?
Obama thanks you. Michelle thanks you. The SEIU thanks you. Rachel Maddow thanks you. Barbra Streisand thanks you. Sandra Fluk thanks you. Debbie Wasserman Schulz thanks you. Every nameless welfare queen thanks you. Illegals thank you. Hamas thanks you. Hezbollah thanks you. Abortionists thank you. Every anti-constitutionalist thanks you. Jesse Jackson thanks you. The UAW thanks you. Fidel Castro thanks you. The Palestinian Authority thanks you. The Muslim Brotherhood thanks you. The taliban thank you.....
Your grand kids may one day curse you but all these and more thank you.
Yes - I did.
If Barry Goldwater were alive today I believe he would tell you there is no need to think that you are compromising your conservastism by voting for the Republican ticket.
This ‘fallacy’ of conservatives should only vote conservative” has been a conditioned knee-jerk reaction. I read it everywhere that self identified “conservatives” will “pinch their noses and vote for Romney”...
And when these nose-pinching conservatives are challenged by the liberal left for doing something that appears non-conservative, the nose-pincher falls for the rancid bait.
It’s impossible for me to convey how *sick* I am of seeing this blatant lie repeated on FR. My personal opinion on Mitt the Lesser may be softening; I do love my country, but this accusation that people whose conscience won’t allow them to vote for a stealth liberal are in some convoluted way “supporting Obama” really needs to die. The “ABRs”, whomever they choose to cast their ballot for, will be voting AGAINST the Empty Chair. Just because some of us can’t stomach the idea of compromising on basic principles and voting for a sodomite supporting, abortionist enabling, big-government liberal republican, does not justify the lies that some of you continue to repeat. DON’T WORRY ABOUT MY VOTE. Go cast your own.
I’m as conservative as they come. There are no more than a handful of Republicans that I don’t find too liberal. Never thought I would vote for much less work for Romney. If Obama wins, America is finished. He won’t be worried about winning any more elections. The past 3 years is just a tiny taste of what is to come. It would be foolish to sit this one out. DO whatever you can. GIVE whatever you can. No regrets.
A pompous sanctimonious self righteous self described conservative that puts himself above the country is not really part of the country but a stranger just wandering about
When you're a Romney supporter, reading the titles is all you CAN do, because you're a shallow, non-thinking moron.
blah blah blah :)
Here’s another fallacy - that voting for Romney is somehow going to “save” the country because “at least he’s not Obama.”
“Obama’s going to destroy the country!!!!!” we always hear. “At least Romney will be teachable!!!!” we always hear.
Here’s a question I have asked these ABO Romney supporters a number of times, and have yet to find one who could man up and actually answer it:
If Romney is elected, do you think he’d do anything different from Obama, at a liberty level? And if so, then what (besides wishful thinking) is your basis for that opinion?
Will Romney roll back the gun control laws in this country?
Will Romney do anything to stop the TSA overreach and abuse, the VIPR program, or anything else in the “security circus”
Will Romney roll back the abuses and overreaches in the PATRIOT Act?
Will Romney work to repeal the Food Safety Modernisation Act, which basically allows (and has already been used for this) the government to prevent people from producing food on their own private land, even if just for personal consumption?
Will Romney do anything about Agenda 21?
Will Romney refrain from using the powers the government has granted itself to indefinitely detain American citizens on American soil, if they are accused of “terrorism”?
Will Romney eliminate the “czars” instead of continuing them as an institution?
I'm glad to see more people voting for R&R. With Mr. Robinson's Aug. 20th post, which I just was alerted to, I feel much better about conservatives coming together.
At worst Obama may be able to replace Ginsburg with another liberal because the conservative Justices on the court will never retire if Obama is reelected.
However if Romney is elected he will almost assuredly get to name replacements for Scaalia and Kennedy, who will be on the court for forty more years.
Not voting for liberal Romney appointing liberal justices altering the balance of the court for 40 years is something I have no problem answering to God about.
If you value Life, the 2nd amendment, the 1st amendment and this country allowing a liberal to appoint liberal justices is insanity in my view....
My grand kids will curse those short sighted Republicans who give them a liberal Supreme Court far into the future.
The title is the descriptor, period. Use it a such. Most don’t have the time to play esoteric games with what is at hand.
My point is that as of now, anyone who votes for anyone other than Romney/Ryan is in essence voting for Obama. We who are truly terrified about the near term future of our country should not be playing games with those idiots who feel voting for anyone else is making some kind of learned point. The only point evidenced is the one on the top of their head.
If say you want to advance a truly conservative agenda at the next window of opportunity, then lets have at it on starting the agenda for 2014. But, that comes after getting the fargin Kenyan out of our house.
So, to keep it short and sweet, I will not play esoteric games with those fools except to make a statement with a question mark as I did on my first response and then if they want to argue, I answer again the same with a period. If they further want to argue, I repeat until they figure out there is no argument.
I read your paragraphs. With such title, cannot completely blame anyone who replied in haste.
I hope so — getting Holder out of the AG spot is a damn good first step to all of those.
We have to undo four years (and who knows how many exec orders a lame duck Obama will put out there) of hardcore socialism. It isn’t going to be an overnight process, and Congress is largely responsible for that legislation.
Why wouldn’t Romney sign that legislation put forth by a majority Republican Congress?
Don’t feed the Troll. Go back to DU!
This part of it isn't redundant and may be a good idea:
And I might suggest having the mods edit your title to 'Real Conservatives
Can't MUST Vote Romney/Ryan'. I think you unintentionally are sending out two messages here.
If you want to draw people into the discussion who won't read anything except the title, leave it as is. ;-)
they may not retire, but they can certainly DIE, and the only spring chickens sitting up there are the hardcore leftists. the sup ct is the most important thing in my estimation and leaving it to Obama to replace them is folly.
