Sounds like Durbin is confusing a career in politics with a holier calling.
If you notice, Brett Baer asked Durbin why it was removed. Durbin did a classic maneuver: ATTACK THE OTHER PERSON SO HE NEVER ANSWERS THE QUESTION!!! Brett asked him three times I think... Durbin avoided it three times. Classic

The only place where that narrative is being presented is in the Democrap Party Platform. Durbin was only asked why.
I tried watching some of this last night.
I was particularly struck, if that’s the right word, by the black man that served 4 years in the military, said that he was a Christian and was singing Ears’s praises to the heavens.
All i could think of was how this was perverting an opportunity to really witness. I don’t know how he could stand up there and said what he did.
This is the same “Dick Turban” who compared our fighting forces in Iraq & Afghanistan to Nazis, then delivered a clenched teeth snarling `apology’ on the Senate floor.
Jerk.
Uh, yes it does and most people at that convention are Godless who worship gummit. The Party is nothing more than a Godless cult.

I saw his interview on Fox yesterday before I finally had to turn it off. He did everything but answer the question. Bret kept re-asking and Durbin kept trying to deflect the question and project blame. It was comical. How do idiots like this end up getting elected?

That’s the irony isn’t it. It’s not a matter of being without sin, but rather a DNC that is openly and actively telling their GOD that they refuse to follow Him.
I can not imagine how a Christian reconciles themself to voting democrat, given the party’s active support of abortion, gay marriage, etc.

I have never been able to reconcile this in my mind. They may have deluded themselves into thinking they are Christian, but they cannot be - the two positions are not compatible.
The only thing that impresses me more about Durbin than his intellectual brilliance or his unshakable patriotism is his profound humility.
He is now that the DNC has disenfranchised Him!
I cannot imagine it either; nevertheless, I know of one family that still votes Democrat to this day inspite of their heavily conservative Christian beliefs.
They live in a very rural area.......no news.....no internet....still believing it’s Andrew Jackson and Harry Truman’s party. Rare, but some folks like that are still around.

The word "Government" can now be inserted in all the pertinent places, i.e., "In Government We Trust", "Government Bless the USA".
One can also argue that Obama himself is now the official god. However, Obama is but the exalted and long-awaited Messiah of the God of Government.
He is the savior who will answer all the world's problems. He will bring an era of peace and prosperity to the despairing and disenfranchised of the planet. He is the liberator who will enforce justice for his people and his country.
Once we know the structure of our potential new state religion, all else falls into place....including the unelected disciples (the czars), the new sacrament (gay marriage), graven images (the hideous sand sculpture of the Messiah in Charlotte), human sacrifice (abortion) and enforced 'tithing' (confiscatory taxation to support the good works emanating from the Universal Church of Saints Franklin and Barack, Washington, DC ).

Well, there are folks in the Christain Left who believe that sin is okay because they believe in Hippie Surfer Jesus who pats them on he head and says, “Dude, like, it’s all cool! I watched a few minutes of news clips later in the evening, and that was more than enough for me.
My mother-in-law is HEAVILY, VERILY, & ABSOLUTELY religious...regular church attendance, Elder, circle groups, church trips, bible studies...you name it.
She’s also a registered democrat.
Explain that to me. How can she be a member of a political party that refuses to acknowledge God?
Just blows my mind.
If I were you, I would have a serious, sincere conversation with her and ask her just that, after laying out the facts about the Democratic party.
