"We're not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers," says Neil Newhouse, a Romney pollster.
A half-dozen fact-checking organizations and websites have refuted Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan's claims that President Obama removed the work requirement from the welfare law and will cut Medicare benefits by $716 billion. The New York Times even reported that Mr. Romney has been "falsely charging" President Obama with removing the work requirement.
USA Today calls the Romney campaign's claim that Mr. Obama has "funneled" money out of Medicare to pay for the federal health care law a "false line of attack" that's directly contradicted by Medicare's chief actuary. "Medicare's money isn't being taken away," the paper concludes.
Most political campaigns are guilty of exaggeration. Some distort the truth. But rarely if ever has one resorted to such bald-faced lies -- even after they're shown to be lies.
To be sure, the mainstream media hasn't always called it correctly. Initially it bought the Bush administration's claim there were "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq. But the mainstream media is at least committed to professional standards that separate truth from fiction, seek objective facts, correct errors and disseminate the truth.
The Romney campaign has decided it won't be dictated by fact-checkers. But a society without trusted arbiters of what is true and what is false is vulnerable to every lie imaginable.

The bolding in the second to last paragraph is mine.
If your blood pressure is under control, go read the entire article.
I agree with Mr. Newhouse.
I expect nothing less from the Blight for All.
“Fact checker” = liberal funded website or left leaning Journ-no-list inserting bias instead of truth under the false pretense of being a third party objective observer.
That’s what was meant. These are just more lies on top of the “fact checker” lies.
Investor’s Business Daily chimes in on this topic here:
The "fact checkers" are not trusted arbiters but partisan hacks.
As usual the Left says whatever they do is what we do.
Hence FreeRepublic, Drudge, the Brietbart Big Sites et al.
The lies and the sins of the old media have finally caught up w/ them.
They cry wolf all day long but their market share is barely a fraction of what it once was and shrinking everyday because of nonsense like their "fact-checkers".
If you look up “Sawed off communist dwarf”... you will see reichhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
This is the battle we are in... just look who took God out of their platform and declares homosexuality is normal. You can't argue the facts with someone who won't agree on what the facts are.. you have to defeat them. The question is, Who's world view will dictate the terms of our survival, and what will that survival look like?
“truth” or spin? The Left has proven to be unusually good at lying this time around. They even do so blatantly and believe if you say something enough times that people will believe it’s true. Guess they’re just following their leader’s example.
We are fighting Snopes, Factcheck.org and the other Left leaning, pro-Obama, Orwellian sites. I always make the effort to look up a “fact” that the Left says Romney/Ryan is lying about, but I have to really look and wade through a lot of bogus info before I feel I have the truth. When commenting on some of the web forums, the Left can just go to one of their fawning/lying Obama sites and we have to dig for the truth before coming back and exposing their original lie.
Am I missing “OUR” site for fact checking?
