I pray Thursday in Charlotte is a beautiful sunny day , and a perfect evening to be sitting outside!
Outdoor stadium event cancelled because of threat of lightnig.
Is there a connection?
The Klu Klux Klan threatened some nuns in Beaumont, Texas since they were building a school for African Americans. I am unsure of the time frame -- but 1950's or before.
The nuns of the order PRAYED for protection (all of the nuns, including the head Mother Katherine Drexel in Philadelphia).
The next thing you know, the national headquarters of the Klu Klux Klan was burned to the ground because it was hit by a bolt of lightning.
Coincidence in lightning threat and dropping 'God' from the platform? 'God' would know the answer. Just ask Him...
How did you know?
Yup. Weather.com now showing thunder as its logo for tomorrow night over Charlotte.
Our local weather dude (who really knows his stuff) is flummoxed by this decision.
His latest tweet: “It’s a simple question...if you have a Panthers gmae, concert or soccer match with a 20% chance of storms would you cancel 24 hours prior?”
http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/Charlotte+NC+USNC0121:1:US?pagenum=2&nextbeginIndex=6 40% chance of “scattered thunderstorms”. Being unable to fill this stadium and moving to a much smaller indoor venue is quite a contrast from their claimed attendance of 84,000 four years ago.
The commies are now terrified of those empty chairs/seats.
Psych warfare at its finest.
Moving to a different venue wont help - now all the seats in Bank of America Stadium will be empty during Obamas speech . . .
You should reply: “If you have a stadium less than half full of Godless Communists and have just removed God and pro-Israel remarks from your speeches; would you want to sit outdoors under an open sky and on metal seating next to these people?”
Brad Blakeman, a Bush guy, says on FoxNews that his Dem friends (who want to remain anonymous) are admitting they could NOT fill the stadium, even with free tickets and transportation. Thus, rather than have a media disaster with a half-empty stadium, they are biting the bullet and moving to the smaller venue.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - With Obama set to address supporters in Charlotte’s open-air football stadium on Thursday, party officials insist the speech will go on even if it rains. After all, they said the stadium’s main tenant, the Carolina Panthers NFL team, plays no matter the weather.
“We have an advisory team that’s closely watching the weather, working with our team, and if any changes need to be made, we’ll make them,” said Jennifer Psaki, Obama’s traveling press secretary.
The National Weather Service says the forecast for Thursday night is improving, with just a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms by the time Obama is scheduled to speak around 10:30 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium. There is a 40 percent chance of storms in the afternoon.
Plans will only change if the weather turns severe, said Democratic National Convention Committee spokeswoman Joanne Peters.
“Safety is the top priority, and if we have to activate a contingency plan due to severe weather, we will make a determination with enough time for arrangements to be made,” she said.
Organizers refused Tuesday to release any details about those contingency plans, including whether the president would speak somewhere else, what would be done with the more than 60,000 ticketholders for the event and how much time it would take to execute those plans.
Democrats have also worried for months about filling the stadium so crowd shots look good on television during the speech. They are bringing in busloads of church members and college students from North Carolina and South Carolina, but the threat of bad weather could keep people at home.
Obama’s staffers dismissed that possibility Tuesday.
“We’re absolutely confident we’re going to have an energetic crowd, a full crowd, in the stadium Thursday evening,” Psaki said.
But there are negatives from a rain-soaked crowd too, said Leonard Steinhorn, professor of public communication at the American University in Washington, D.C.
It wouldn’t look good to TV viewers if they see a less-than-capacity crowd looking miserable in raincoats. Also, it is harder to collect personal information from the crowd that can be used later to recruit campaign volunteers if clipboards and attendees are waterlogged, Steinhorn said.
If strong storms roll over the stadium, it could become one of the defining moments of the convention. “The weather could be the Democrats’ Clint Eastwood,” Steinhorn said, referring to the actor’s unscripted and rambling appearance at last week’s Republican convention.
“That’s a roll of the dice that you take when you create a circumstance that they cannot fully control,” he said.
A convenient untruth
Empty seats on empty heads.
When was the last time someone was struck by lighting in a professional stadium...they have lighting protection just like water parks
I think after the Rats took God out, Obama figured, why take the chance.
We don't stop the presses over it.
Heh! That’s why I posted it.....because of the chairs. Oh, and the fact that they are holding metal chairs during a thunderstorm. LOL!
Would they cancel a football game over the same weather report?
Wouldn’t even consider it an issue. It wouldn’t rise to the level of discussion.
Ha! nice one.
LOL -Mrs. Hodar

Well, if it rains, will the new obammy sand sculpture hold up since they sprayed it with some sort of waterproof substance?
THAT’S what inquiring minds really want to know—LOL!
Boy, do the Dems FEAR THE EMPTY CHAIR or what?!!! Look what that empty chair ghost has caused them to do! Just wow!
Not enough who wanted to go who are able to present Photo IDs and pass all the other security checks. Besides, once they heard Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz were going to dress up as Panthers cheerleaders, they'd have to get their Maalox through security too.
Whatever happened to the Viking kittens — I haven’t seen them for ages....
[September in NC there is always a chance for thunderstorms.
We don’t stop the presses over it.]
EXACTLY! Obama’s people just figured that out? Don’t think so.
I admit to being something of a cynic but were I a “D” supporter on ANY level, I would be kind of worried that the entire hierarchy of the “D”/”LIB” echelon will be ensconced in one building and HILLARY is ‘half a world’ away from the fallout.
As a bonus she even has her nemesis ‘willyj’ in the building and if her personal asst is traveling with her and same asst’s favorite weiner is there also, we have the makings for a ‘Perfect Storm’..
2012 is swiftly running out and we all know the ‘threat’ of worlds end as we know it today.
Just a thought, like ‘THEY’ say, “Never let a situation pass”.
As previously thought by some, “HILLARY just may save the world”......
What would be delicious would be for Romney/Ryan to schedule a speech in Bank of America Stadium and have it sell out.
and I thought it was because Moochelle didn’t want to get her wig wet
Who cares if it’s inside or outside!?! It will be all LIES!!!!! I’m not watching this DNC (DO NOT CARE).
well, for a Panthers game, concert or soccer match, the organizers wouldn’t be also paying for/cancelling hundreds of charter buses with free meals/drinks. I imagine the bus companies would demand payment for cancellation in under 24 hours
Apparently the DNC put Nagan in charge of buses.
Which reminds me, holding the DNC in Cleveland, Detroit, Newark, or Jersey City would at least be a homecoming for them. And don't they care about helping out the people, places, and trade unions who are so forever loyal?
Here’s what local weatherman has to say.
“there will be scattered storms during the afternoon but with the speech not until 10pm not an issue IMO”
“Thursday night will likely be the best weather of the entire week. Don’t blame them but could have called it earlier”
“My main point is if you were going to move inside for the small wx threat Thursday. You could have made that decision a week ago. IMO”
The Ballad of Ten-Cent Beer Night
Princess Elizabeth Warren was reportedly seen dancing in front of stadium. This was made possible when she declined to talk with reporters about her hairitage (not misspelled).
More from local weatherman.
Severe threat is almost zero Thursday night & chance of rain is 20%. #cltwx

@joneesuz yes, but the risk is the same for any outdoor event nothing major here. Should never had said rain or shine then move it.

@golphur the situation has been improving day by day, so I could see making this decision earlier but today? Just odd.

Thank you for reminding us, ponygirl, Who is in control ...
King James Version
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
In retrospect, those American flags are really out of place.
And when they can’t fill the Time Warner Center, they’ll move it to the bathroom.
Imagine, that much malignant stupidity in one place !
