Bin Laden is dead. This is a good thing. I would even say it qualifies as an administration accomplishment. It is mostly a Navy SEAL accomplishment, and the Administration’s involvment is likely WAY overstated ... but, Obama did give the go-ahead. Good for him.

I say, he was stuck with giving the go-ahead.

The policy to go after bin-Laden was set in motion years before by Bush. To reverse that policy would have been suicidal to Obama's chances for re-election. So, when the time came, and the Seals had bin-Laden in their sights, the decision to go after him was a no-brainer and already predetermined. Obama could not risk being called another Clinton, who, when our troops had bin-Laden in their sights, Clinton decided to, basically, let him go.

The reality is that, Obama would have preferred to be playing golf than watching a Seal operation to kill bin-Laden, but Obama had no other option. When the only option left to him was to give the go-ahead, then, it wasn't really a major decision, and it was one that, anybody in office would have made.

I’d still give him the limited credit he deserves for green-lighting the mission ... if for no other reason than he ignored his very strong instinct to screw-it-up. God knows he’s blown easier calls than that.

If GM is alive, why is the Boxwood (DE) still shut down, rusting away and providing little tax revenue? Why are we borrowing money from Red China to pay someone to manufacture green cars - in Finland?

While we’re at it, why is the Chrysler plant now a part of University of Delaware research facilities? Again, little tax revenue and we ALL supprt that through higher tuition rates and through our taxes.

And how will all those unemployed autoworkers vote in November?

Can GM buy back the stock the government bought at the price the government paid for it? If not, they’re still in the red and just another GSE.

I would say “So what? Our Afghani ‘allies’ are murdering our troops, our troops are being forced to submit to sharia, the ROEs are putting them in danger and Pakistan is still protecting the Taliban. As for GM, it is well on the way to being banktupt, again!”
