2008 No More: Obama Acceptance Speech Moved to 75% Smaller Venue
Red State ^ | September 5, 2012 | Jeff Emanuel

In 2008, standing between artificial columns designed to recall the White House Rose Garden, then-Senator Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for president at Denver’s Invesco Field in front of a record crowd of 84,000. It’s clearly not 2008 any more.

Bank of America stadium and the 73% smaller Time Warner Cable ArenaA similar-sized venue was chosen for now-President Obama’s acceptance speech this year’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, where .... Bank of America Stadium seats 73,298. That’s ten thousand less than Invesco, but still a sizable venue — and one which, if enthusiasm were even remotely close to 2008 levels, Obama should have had no trouble at all filling.

However, a growing enthusiasm gap — reflected in crowds at campaign events that were so paltry......

Like the story of the scorpion and the turtle where the turtle met a scorpion trying to cross a river. The scorpion promised not to sting the turtle if it carried him across the river - “I would drown along with you! He claimed”

Midway, the scorpion stung the turtle who plainted “why?”

“I just could not help myself.”

Turtles may just have gotten a clue for once.

They were going to bars offering free tickets. Notice the careful wording: 65,000 HELD TICKETS. Thats not the same as paid customers actually showing up.
They couldn’t even bribe the homeless to show up to get a box of wine.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of a-hole goons.

By the way: NC is NOT going to him this time. I do believe we have already SWUNG. Pubbie gains here should be stunning. Anecdotal stuff: far fewer zero yard signs and bumper stickers, no credible advertising from the dumble gubernatorial candidate...[not even sure he has a name...LOL]dumbles are losing on most fronts except the carpetbagger hellholes of Char, RDU, A-ville and the like.

Can’t wait. Can’t happen soon enuff.

We CAN turn this ship away from the edge of the waterfall.

The Messiah won in 2008 because the Republicans had no viable Opponent running against him, and the one-and-only-time White Guilt Vote won it for him.

Now, the "Duty" has already been fulfilled (Voting for a Black to show you are not bigoted, or Racist).

Only massive Fraud will get him re-Elected now, and that's not beyond possibility.

Where will the "Hanging Chads" show up THIS time?

Understand your point. The turtle may be on the post, but the scorpion is on the turtle’s back.

If the new place turns out to be too big, they could always reserve space at Chuck-E-Cheese.

So this says to me that less people are falling for this clown than did in 2008.

Epic fail Odumbo.

This is a good move as you wouldn’t want to risk getting hit by lighting from God when you have turned your back away from him or from Jerusalem and Israel. That would have been one mighty message if God had that lighting bolt hitting “The Choosen One” on his ass. Oh my.
