Cuccinelli to receive Humane Law Enforcement Award from The Humane Society of the United States today
RICHMOND (September 5, 2012) - Today, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will receive a 2012 Humane Law Enforcement Award from The Humane Society of the United States. This award recognizes the attorney general's work to ensure enforcement of laws created to protect animals in the commonwealth, from routinely and rapidly responding to requests from animal control officers and attorneys, pursuing animal cruelty charges across the state, and developing animal cruelty and fighting curriculum for the nation's prosecutors.
The award will be presented by Laura Donahue, Virginia state director for The Humane Society of the United States, and will be "co-presented" by a dog, Moon, who was rescued during an arrest in Nelson County which led to charges for the illegal sale of wildlife, the illegal sale of fighting roosters for animal fighting purposes, the possession of migratory bird talon, drug distribution and animal cruelty.
All members of the public and media are encouraged to attend this award ceremony.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 5, 2012 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: Office of the Attorney General - Auditorium 900 E. Main Street Richmond, VA 23219

Awww . . . did HSUS run out of plaintiffs to pay?
Was there anything in the award about training police officers not to shoot homewowners’ dogs.
