CHARLOTTE, N.C. First lady Michelle Obama got rave reviews for the custom-made Tracy Reese pink and copper dress she wore while giving a tribute to her husband at the Democratic National Convention.
The sleeveless dress showed off Mrs. Obama's famously toned arms and the length modestly skirted her knees. She paired the dress with pink pumps from J. Crew and her fingernails were painted a trendy blue-gray.

I bet she has an assistant that helps her dress, like the Royals in England.
so if this was a rpeublican wearing that she woudl be attacked for being out of touch but because she is the messiahs wife she is alright
Of course they have to rave about the dress since her speech was just one long lie.
Unprofessional attire for such a ‘gala’ event.
But... but... she didn’t make that dress!
Ii clicked on the source assuming I would see the dress they were talking about.............I certainly didn’t watch her on tv.
her fingernails were painted a trendy blue-gray.
Trendy? I just figured it was dried blood.
THis lumbering woman usually cant dress and so tired of all the bullshit shallow nonsense that goes on with this media worshiping the Obamas. Hey, at least we didn’t have to put up with the Jackie O comparisons like four years ago.
Can we can the icky sleeveless dresses that every anchor woman in the country has been wearing since Mooshell started showing off her muscles? We’ve seen enough flabby upper arms to last a life time.
It is particularly irksome to see these skimpy clothes in the dead of winter when even animals have the sense put on a winter coat.
She didn’t build that.
Why should she get rave revues?
Somewhere along the line other people helped her - made her Alice-In-Wonderlad life possible.
Someone grew the natural fibers, invented the man made materials, prepared the fibers, wove the cloth, dyed it, designed the dress, cut the material, sewed it and transported it.
And let’s not forget the poor working slobs who actually pay the bills for Moochie’s queenly extravagances.
Too bad it didn’t do anything to minimize her... uh... caboose (as Jack LaLanne used to say).
Where’s the barf alert?
And if this was Ann Romney, we’d all know that this dress cost a fortune and how wearing shows how little you care for the common people.
Lipstick meet pig. “Nuff said.
Saw it on FOX this morning....pity they ran out red dye at the bottom of the dress.
I wonder if she spent more than Palin did on clothes.
LOL, amazing how the media fawn all over this woman and neevr question her hypocrisy on food or her body.
We see her, and they say she is beautiful, we hear her and they tell us how she is so much in touch with working people[dumpster diving yea right] and then they mention the clothes and they say how she is elegant.
Now it;s trendy nail colors blue=gray.
When you think it can;t reach most pathetic levels they the media surpass it
That dress was more suited for a party.
,,,,, that dress sure made her butt look bigger !!!
That dress was more suited for a party.
does the MSm think they are fooling anyone? You can put the dress on sasquatch but it’s still sasquatch
I was going to post something about smuggling a shoplifted TV out of the store under that dress but I decided that would be tasteless.
It’s a CYA dress——quite appropriate.
Notice that CBS News doesn’t tell you the cost of the dress, in this bad economy. This is called stooging for Obama.
When Ann Romney wears a designer outfit they put the cost in the first sentence.
Famously toned arms? All I can see is how much this lottery winner has cost the American people.
Next year, Moochelle will be buying moo moos.
I am disgusted every time I see her greased up muscular arms. I live in FL and girls are not even allowed towear a sleeveless top/dress in public school. I was trying to think about Sarah Palin and her outfits but I realized that I have never seen her bare her arms. I just can’t wait to have a First Lady who doesn’t walk around with her pits uncovered.
Yeah, trendy nail colors - like what a 14-15 year old would wear. Not a FLOTUS. And the dress was okay but I agree with another poster about being sick of seeing her and all the network anchorwomen on TV wearing sleeveless, cocktail-party type dresses for reporting the news.
What kind of idiotic news site has a feature about a DRESS and no picture of it?
Oh... See B.S., that’s who.
But she knows what it means to “struggle.” She’s “one of us.” Oh, it’s so tough struggling with this hectic campaign schedule. It’s really cut into the vacation time.
She really has extra long arms. That's about as far as as I dare go.
Looks like a dress designed by a gay upholsterer. Probably had some left over material from the drapes.
“... showed off Mrs. Obama’s famously toned arms...”
What was the name of that Clint Eastwood movie with the Orangutan? Every Which Way But Moose?
But... but... she didnt make that dress!
I wonder where it would go?
‘_______trendy nail colors blue=gray.’
Blue-gray finger nail polish is super trendy - -
with our 8, 10 and 13 year old granddaughters - !!!
Now that I’ve seen the photo, I’m left wondering if she’s wearing any underwear..........
So, the national debt hit $16 Trillion yesterday, unemployment has been above 8% for close to 4 years, the Democrats refuse to pass a budget, and Obama has no plans to address any of these outrages. Meanwhile, the mainstream media thinks the fabulousness of Michelle Obama’s dress is newsworthy!
looks like a suicide boob belt.
Is that what they’re raving about? It makes her look flat-chested, her shoulders look like a linebacker’s, and her hips look big. I think it’s quite unflattering on her. But let’s face it; she could wear a potato sack and the media would swoon.
Or as Carol Burnett said in a Gone with the Wind sketch on her show...
“I saw it in the window and just could not resist...” or something similar...
She purposely chose Reese: AA, American-made and very affordable price points to contrast w/Ann R’s de la Renta w/a starting price of over $2k. Even the shoes are J. Crew and not that extravagant as fashion goes.
We may not like her, but honestly, she looked as good as possible and she scored PR points against Ann Romney. The nail polish is likewise trendy, even for 45-50-year-olds. I see those colors even out here in the boonies and sometime on the toenails of older women.
I don’t like the zer0s. I hate the adoration of political wives. But, I like Tracy Reese’s designs and this one looked good on Michelle, as did her wig. Come on, ladies: if you saw something similar for $150 on sale at Neiman Marcus, you’d think it was great. That is where Reese sells and that is her sale price point. Regularly $250-$450, which is not bad for a gala. Custom was likely not that much more as the PR was priceless.
I do agree that there is way too much sleevelessness out there. We older women really appreciate something to cover the bingo wings, but for those who work for toned triceps, why not show them off?
‘_____like what a 14-15 year old would wear.’
OOps - didn’t read all the posts - -
I did watch, and saw the dress. That’s why I watched - wondering if she was going to re-cycle the black widow spider dress from 2008 - -
Actually, I thought the hair, dress - and shoes - were beautiful - and the dress moved well when Mrs. Obigmouthmama walked/galumped.
But it is about being inappropriate/appropriate for the occasion, and showing arm pits.
Have brides stopped wearing strapless and showing arm pits???
Thought that might stop when we saw Kate’s wedding dress.
“These are my husband’s Martian friends they’re keeping an eye on America . . “
Those microphones sure ‘fool the eye.’
L O L!!!! Watch out what you stand behind, and in front of.
Too many family photos with telephone poles and trees coming out of the heads of the subjects!
Having too much fun on this thread, but running off to an appt. - -
Thanks for a good laugh
I never knew she had fangs. Check out her teeth.
